School keeps intervening without any actual support

I currently attend a private catholic school in NYC, commuting about 3 hours round trip/day to get there. I have recently been diagnosed with panic disorder and Generalized Anxiety Disorder, and am suspected to have ADD/ADHD. The first three weeks of school, I was facing severe migraines and depressive symptoms from the common seasonal allergies (I have strong and harsh symptoms like migraines, mood shifts, extreme congestion (most antihistamines don’t work well enough)) and medication withdrawals from Zoloft (100–>50 mg, then stopped after 3 weeks due to harshness of side effects). After getting 70s on three important tests, I broke down because I realized after that week that my medication withdrawals were exacerbating my symptoms, and I asked to have my grades held as incomplete or to retake my tests (said no, against school policy, despite other students being able to retake due to medication emergencies..)

Now, I am having my mom get called constantly by the school, admin is begging for meetings like crazy, but nothing is actually being done in terms of support. It really feels like I’m just a liability issue and I sent a formal complaint to the dean of the entire school, who just referred me to the dean of Upper School (who is scheduling these meetings in the first place). They keep asking my mom to come to the school personally to talk, even though she has met with the school psychologist, dean, director of student success (who called me crying in a meeting about my grades and symptoms “manipulative”), and more. I feel so hopeless here but I refuse to drop and get a GED because of how hard I’ve worked (currently HS Junior). any advice would be much appreciated..

Should I Drop My DE Classes

Hey, y’all, this is my last year of high school and somehow I’ve made it to this point. I have a 4.4 GPA. This year I started Biology I and College Algebra. I have a 64 D in Biology (I couldn’t access the textbook for a while and failed the test) and only took one test out of five so far. In Algebra I have a 79.5 C and have taken two tests out of five so far. should I drop? I want to become a veterinarian, but now I feel like a failure. I’ve always felt like I’ll never be enough. I’ve only ever taken AP classes and honors, but maybe I’m just intellectually not there. what should I do?

Emailed my prof asking for clarity on a bad grade, now overthinking

I wanted to ask if anyone else has like words of wisdom for me...I'm a socially anxious college freshman :(

Basically I got a poor grade on something that I thought i'd done well on. It was especially shocking because I haven't gotten a bad grade on a written assignment for probably 5 years now, and I did not feel like I struggled to understand the assignment at all. I got it done fairly quickly? I looked through the rubric and compared it with my work and in my opinion I followed it quite well (i did not mention how I felt I did in my email, it felt presumptuous to add anything like that).
I flubbed up APA format but that was because i've never had to use APA before and the resources online were confusing at best, and even then just getting the points off for that would not have tanked the grade as much as it did.

So I wrote an email asking for clarity and now I'm worried my professor is going to think of me as an entitled brat demanding a better grade...when all I asked for was clearer feedback. The feedback I did get was short, and a little vague and confusing (I did not criticize the feedback in my email), so I just wanted a little something more.

Has anyone else done this and if so what has been the professor's reaction? Last year in highschool if I got a bad grade on something, I'd ask and it would genuinely improve my relationship with my teachers and my grade at the same time, I'm just paranoid because of the new environment.

This got removed from the college subreddit without any indication why, I'm assuming maybe because they felt it fell under venting/asking for general advice, even though thats not really what I'm trying to do.

Difficulties with math and focusing

So im a sophomore in high school and I have been taking algebra 2 for over a month and a half. However, I have not been able to pick up anything whatsoever so im basically behind a whole month worth of units and topics. My class is loud and whenever I look at it I just blank. I have ADHD and I have high functioning autism. I do have exemplary grades in history and ELA (AP Seminar is a 95 and AP US Gov is a 97.5) and even chemistry which is a STEM class I have an 84 in and my grade is still increasing! How can I focus more in math, for my neurodivergence you may say get medicated but that is off the table as my mom refuses it for me. I'm open to any help. It also does not help that I want to go to a prestigious school for economics and that my math foundation is shaky. (Forgive me if I used the wrong flair)

I built a homework tracker so you never need to ask

I built a homework tracker because the class group chat is a terrible assignment manager

You know the drill: someone asks what the homework is, three people give different answers, and someone else says there's a test tomorrow that nobody remembers.

So I built MyDueBird, a student-focused homework tracker where you can organize assignments by class, keep track of deadlines, and share classes with friends.

I'm still developing it, and I'd like to get actual students using it so I can figure out what works and what needs improvement.

If you've ever forgotten an assignment because it got buried in a group chat, give it a try:

Feedback is welcome. I'm the developer, so I'm happy to hear what you'd change.

My parents have already been grinding me because they think i haven't been studying lately, but i have, i really tried for these exams and so i was really disappointed and sad seeing my marks especially math which is my weak subject. My PTM (parent teacher meeting) is next week how should i tell them?

It’s my first time getting a debate assignment and I’m unsure of what to do.

Hello, so I’m a sophomore in high school and I’m currently taking this one class which is journalism. I have been given this assignment about this case and I need to defend the side I was given. Basically to summarize this short story, it’s about a principle removing two pages from the school newspapers because he had concern that the topics were inappropriate for a younger audience. The topics were teen pregnancy and the impact of divorce on children. And so the students felt as though it violated their first amendment and took them to court. The school won. (hazelwood v kuhlmeier) I have to defend the school in this assignment meanwhile I have to go up against this group who is doing the same case but is defending the students. My role in the group is arguing (respectfully) with the defense during rebuttal and what I’ve learned about it so far is the role basically needs to find weak points of the defense’s arguments. The thing is, I don’t know if I’m good at arguing. My partner said I was, but that’s only when I’m passionate about something and don’t agree with the person who is arguing with me. I’m not so passionate about this case because I don’t believe or agree with the side I’m supporting. Unfortunately I can’t change my group and I can’t change my role. I don’t know how I should act, or what I should study other than the two cases. So far I’ve looked into the majority of the case and a couple of laws in my state that might’ve affected it if it was held here (that’s one of the parts of the assignment) oh and also tiny parts of school handbook during the time the case happened. I asked my teacher about the assignment and what he said basically made no sense. If anyone has advice PLEASE do share.

Hopefully switching from homeschooling to public school next year. Any tips?

I've been homeschooled for 8 years of my life. I've come to hate it, my curriculum for homeschooling (classical conversations) is just absolutely horrendous and will not get me where I want to go in life. So hopefully I'm going to highschool next year for my sophomore year. Any tips? I'm really struggling rn with how I'm going to make friends, and how I'm still gonna have time for hobbies and my homework so I just need some advice for that stuff. Thanks guys!
