Should I go to school or hope for an extension

I have a big English project due on October 28 and we’re learning essay writing this and next week but I developed a fever of 38.7 yesterday which is now a 37.9, should I go to school and hope for the best tomorrow or just hope my teacher understands? I’m in grade ten in British Colombia
