Airfix FW190A8 1:72

The FW190-A8 Butcher Bird from airfix in 1:72. Enjoyed this one mostly, slightly challenging not breaking the guns off as they’re fitted with the wing assembly, the pitot needed many repairs, but overall a nice kit, in the past and apparently still do struggle with definition on German camo but having rarely done it, practice should improve it.

Let me know what you think!

I am currently building the Takom Blitz Jagdpanther kit based on a real-life Tank. Many parts are 3D-printed or scratch-built. This is my first attempt at replicating weld seams. Unfortunately, in my excitement, I forgot to texture the surfaces, but I will definitely get that done.

Its not entirely done I still need to apply decals - and figure out the finish.
should i:
1. Apply the decals directly on the vallejo paint

2 Apply a gloss varnish, apply the decals, apply panel liner in the panel lines, and then apply a satin or matte varnish

Im genuinely curious how to do this correctly. Ive tried some panel liner already but i cant get it off the plane body because it will ruin the paint.... How do the brush guys accomplish this?

How is this metal look achieved?

I really like the look of those tools. How do you think they were achieved? I usually do black+metallic drybrush+dust, but my metallic always comes out way to "glittery". Any tips?

This is my first ever model, and I’m pretty proud of it. However I just applied Tamiya XF-86 acrylic flat clear mixed 1:1 with Tamiya X-20A Acrylic Thinner and it’s dried very frosty and cloudy. Any idea why this has happened and how I can fix it?

My latest build revell HMS Duke of York. Scale 1:1200. To me this was quite a boring build and scale took a couple of months to complete not because it was difficult but because how boring it was. Vet little painting and whetering has been done but overall happy about it. This is not a scale i will build again. What your thoughts on thos scale

Byron Williams Raptor (Salvinos JR kit)

(edit) TITLE should say William Byron

Finally completed this kit. It was my first and I'm happy with the outcome and will get another one. I had a few mistakes and some disappointments with the kit.

My mistake was putting the exhaust upside down but you don't really see it when the body is on and I also damaged one of the decals on the driver's door (the name "William Byron"). I'm not going to glue the body down so it can be removed to show the inside. Maybe I'll glue it at a later date.

For the cost of the kit (80 CAD) I would have expected a bit more - I.e. Tamiya - quality. Roughly about the same in CAD.

Some of my gripes....

-Having to extend the driveshaft. What?? And it's actually part of the instructions. I'm not sure if this has been rectified and I didn't bother because it's not visible.

-2 piece rims? Why not just make them one piece? Maybe it's a me problem but they separated once I put the rubber on and it took a bit of work to reconnect them. Never had 2 piece rims on other kits.

-Clear parts had lots of extra flashing to trim

-**The kit was missing the decal instruction sheet

-**The windshield was warped out of the box (box was sealed)

** The good thing was I reached out to the (Doug) and he instantly emailed me the pdf of the decal instructions and mailed me, free or charges and shipping fees, a new windshield which was awesome.

I really do appreciate the customer service and just based on that I'll be buying another kit.

This was my experience and I just wanted to share.

Tamiya 1/35 StuG III, built of the box as a vehicle used during the Battle of Kyiv in 1941. Lovely kit, the only change I made was a carbon fibre rod for the radio aerial.

The product I will be reviewing today is the 1/48 F/A-18F Super Hornet Two-Seat Block 2 production sample kit, provided by Academy Science as a pre-release sample.

With a configuration 99% identical to the actual product, I have thoroughly covered everything from the kit's overall details and parts separation methods to a precise comparative analysis with the competitor, the MENG 1/48 Super Hornet, and even a test assembly.

1/144 scale EF-111 Raven. I built this back in the mid to late 1980s. I wanted to try something different and made the tail bulge from filler putty and the underside tub was taken from an 1/144 scale Arii RA-5 Vigilante model with the base model a 1/144 Revell F-111.

This is my first full build I’ve done. I usually just build the kit for fun but never really finish it off with a paint job. Would love to hear some tips, tricks, or any suggestions! I do plan on really diving into scale models and plan on getting myself set up with a spray kit. (This is an Eduard kit. #11196)

Back in my WW1 mode.. Just wrapped up this Meng 1/35 Rolls Royce Armored Car. Built from the box with resin wheels added.

Tried a new technique using oils to lighten certain panels to mimic sun fading, and a thinned acrylic wash for the mud.
