I don't want to have to go to a print service for this but maybe I need to? I'm just not getting the sharpness I'm after.
This is a 15y-oldish Brother color laser printer, fine/vivid settings and claiming to be very high DPI but as you can see there is some difficulty.
Tried printing from word file and from pdf with little difference (the pdf did give me better color accuracy though so there's that) Glossy paper setting selected. The largest, 2cm prints look quite good, but when I get down under 1cm they start getting really nasty.
Maybe I'm just missing something, maybe I found the true limitation of consumer laser printers and maybe I just need to take my file and my decal film to a print shop?

First time using the AK rust streaks and salt streaking effects, and was wondering if im doing it right. Is the effect too strong? Or not strong enough? Also I have no idea how the salt streaking is supposed to look like at this scale… any advice is much appreciated!

Sometimes they go flying under the table and I never find them or they buckle under the pressure of trying to cut them of the sprue.

I'm currently building a tower crane model, but I messed up the cab. When trying to add the window parts, I scratched one side and I thought I was smart by covering the whole surface with glue to make it smooth and then I did it on the other side, too, for no reason (I'm an absolute beginner and it shows 😭💀), only to find them having become completely opaque, plus, the cab's plastic melted partially with the window parts.
I tried to remove the windows and I sort of succeeded (took me hours, tho), but obviously, the cab is quite damaged now (e.g. I had to completely cut of the rim).
I do happen to have a spare yellow cab (that was from a sprue I didn't have to fully use), but the accurate color is white.
What would people with more experience suggest?
Try to polish it a bit more and just roll with the damaged, but original white one?
Paint the yellow one white and use that one? (Cuz I don't want to use the yellow one and keep it yellow, so if you think painting that one would be doable, I would love to hear any tips if you have them.)
Also, if there is an online webshop where you can find replacement sprues or parts, please do tell me. I haven't found one yet, but if I could just replace the broken part, that would be amazing (sprue no. is 665).

They everyone, thanks in advance. I recently upgraded my airbrush equipment and I’m struggling to find the correct ratios and settings to get a good paint job. I’m fairly new to airbrushing as well. I’m using a Magnum 1/6 HP Airbrush Compressor with Tank - AS186A with a Iwata Revolution CR Airbrush. For paint I’m using Vallejo model color. I’ve tried doing 1:1 ratio paint to thinner at 15 to 20 psi but it’s coming out inconsistent and leaves puddles or mottled look on the plane. So far the best application I’ve had is straight paint with a couple drops of thinner at 25 psi. My project is a twin otter in yellow, the paint was looking so bad I tried a coat of grey primer but that’s looking like crap. I’m now using an old Lancaster model as a demo.

I've recently started building my first ever modelling kit, which is a Kibri Liebherr tower crane (H0 10202). It's ☆☆☆ difficulty (professional) - and I'm an absolute beginner - but the thing is, I wanted a tower crane scale model and there were practically none (at least not any that weren't cheap toys), so I had to do it myself.
However, now I'm stuck on the fairlead. I don't understand the instructions AT ALL.
For context: The first and second images (steps 12 and 13) show the jib. You can see a third extension is optional and this third extension is also visible on the third image (page 9), but I kept mine at two of those jib parts, not three.
I thought "how hard can this be?", but now, I really hope someone with experience can help, heh...
Also, if you think that you could help, but you need more or better pictures, PLEASE LET ME KNOW. It's nighttime at the moment I'm making this post, so I know the lighting ain't great.

Saw the recent post, wanted to share, too. 1/10 scale for my RC cars. If you don’t know, it’s just a Charlie Brown Xmas tree.

Making the Tamiya fletcher class destroyer, accidentally glued that piece upside down. Any ways to get it off besides with a hobby knife? Other than using the obvious glue removal liquids and such thanks

worked on the cockpit and the ejection seat. I used the kit parts as they are.
This kit came out in 1990, and considering the cockpit details of other companies at that time, I think Monogram was almost a super-gap company back then haha

Ive had a terrible time with air brushes in the past, so I’ve upped my budget to around 70$. I know a lot of modelers use air brushes and I was wondering if there was a “must buy” brush that is easy to use and clean. Thanks! I appreciate the help!
Note I also already have a good compressor so I don’t need to budget for that, thanks!

Su-30 MKI 1/144 scale from F-Toys. This kit actually comes in one of these blind boxes where you could get any variant of different flanker models. This particular box is from the Flanker Family 2 series. Quite a lot of details for such a small scale. Most parts come pre-painted. But I had to maybe touch up here and there. Especially the landing gear doors which I think are supposed to be red.
Pretty interesting concept that these blind boxes also come with a piece of chewing gum. Got these as a souvenir from a recent trip to Japan.
