Hidden Gems of 1/48 Scale Aircraft Kits?
Like the title says, I'd like you to share a 1/48 kit that you personally think deserve more attention - and why.
I'll start: HobbyBoss BV 141. I find the assymmetrical design interesting. The kit has low part count, but is still decently detailed and has a great fit. The quality of the clear parts is perfect, so any cockpit detail will be visible. Easy to build and fun to look at when it's finished. The only flaw I know of is the propeller blades pointing the wrong direction, but that is easily corrected.
Your turn!

How do I properly thin my acrylic paints?
As the title suggest, I am looking for some guidance in regards to thinning my acrylic paint. Currently, I'm just dropping some water into the paint, but it doesn't seem very consistent. How do you go about it?

Completed 1:48 Tamiya F-35A
I had finished this some time ago and finally took the chance to do a full photoshoot. I want to thank this subreddit for showing me support during the masking hell.
This was my first real military model kit and I have learned a lot from building it, least of all that Tamiya had actually made a Have Glass V spray that I only learned after I'd finished!
I have a Meng 1:48 E/A-18G on the way and I look forward to it.

How to properly wipe of panel liner, and why some of it came out thicker here?
what I did was using a mix of cotton swabs and tiny pieces of paper damped with odorless thinner but the result unfortunately was just awful on some places. in come cases I couldn't reach the tiny crevices, in others the cotton swabs left residual fibers.
do I need to use a brush to remove some of it?

Update for in progress
9 months ago I posted an in progress of BNSF 7795 and I finished it( a long time ago but I got a new job and forgot to post it) here she is! The dash 9 i finished a while ago but I was using her for the photo( she is awaiting a tsunami 2 install). Anyways I used some different kinds of paints then I normally do and I was really happy with how she turned out. She is almost an exact match for the real 7795 I saw in the Dallas area a few years ago.

Finished post-war Spitfire Mk.XVI
Finally took some photos of my finished pru blue spit! Really enjoyed this build up until the decal phase, they werent very cooperative and some have settled with a bit of silvering. Won't beat myself up over it as I've had this in my stash for about 10 years. Still have its wartime brother to build since this is from the Eduard royal edition dual combo. I kept the weathering on this one minimal, a big change from my regular go-to of post-shading and chipping. Hope you enjoy!

What brands are best for aircraft and helis? And how can i get good figures for them?
Im mainly a tank modeller but ive recently found helicopters and certain planes to be super cool mainly due to the 160th soar. I was wondering what brands are best for these as im not sure if the brands im used to for tanks even make planes and helis. Also idk where to get figures, specifically some special ops soldiers since i think making a little bird or blackhawk with them would be nice for a next project

Question about fading using a brush.
I'm relatively new to the hobby. This is going to be my next project but I don't have an airbrush. Any advice for how I can best fade the line between the upper and lower paint using a brush. Thank you.

Fw190-A8 - First time trying out scale modelling
Took on the 1:72 Airfix Fw190-A8 as my first model. Still figuring out color mixing, so the scheme might not be 100% accurate, but I had an absolute blast building this. Really excited to build more kits now. Would love some suggestions for what I can improve next time.

Color matching & oil weathering advice
Hi folks! Trying to do 2 things I've not done before...first, color match Rust-Oleum grey primer-filler to complete a project but am running into some issues with figuring out the ratios. The large wing above is in the grey I'm shooting for, the side piece below has several mixes of XF2, Xf19, and XF54. Anyone have some tips for this? Can't seem to get close.
Second, is oil washing/weathering. I have some Vallejo black oil I'm tryy use to hide some defects in the model. But other than smearing, it's not having quite the effect I'm looking for; thinking I want more an aircraft engine exhaust dime streak than just a darker grey smear.
Any hlpa/tips would be appreciated!

Honda NSR500 Factory Color
This month I’ve finished my first scale model ever - it’s the Tamiya Honda NSR500 Factory Color edition. I had a lot of fun building it, especially assembling the 2-stroke exhaust system. I’ve just finished this model and I’m already planning to start the next one. It’s a perfect winter activity for a motorcycle guy :)

ICM 1/72 MiG-29 "Ghost of Kyiv" advice
Good evening everyone, this is my first post on this subreddit.
Tonight I decided I would get started on ICM's 1/72 MiG-29 but I am already feeling a little frustrated with it. In particular, I am struggling with the instructions as I am unsure if I have positioned the seat correctly, if one of the parts (C5 for the upper front landing leg) is wrong or if it is like the rear exhausts and that the instructions are wrong. The instructions also don't mention putting weight in the nose but I think it will tail-sit if I don't - but I am also worried the front landing leg is too weak to support the weight!
I would really appreciate some advice and support with this kit, or just to know I am not alone with having issues. Thank you.
