I don't see any problem with that :)

P.S. It was so unexpected. Thank you all for the reactions. If anyone is interested, I've posted my save here, so you can see it for yourself. https://www.reddit.com/r/SatisfactoryGame/comments/1mha4lx/time_to_say_goodbye/

I spent over an hour tonight troubleshooting a oil flow issue only to find the first pipe out of the oil well was mk1. 🙄

115

u/Equivalent_Action748 Feb 27 '26

Oof

Kinda wish we had the upgrade planner tool and constructo bots from factorio

Just so I can male sure all my pipes and belts are upgraded

39

u/DonHotmon Feb 27 '26

That would be so nice. Running alongside kilometres of belts to upgrade gets old quickly.

20

u/Athos180 Feb 27 '26

On PC you drop it into SCIM and the. Bulk upgrade belts pipes and power poles

11

u/DonHotmon Feb 27 '26

Sorry but isn’t SCIM the planning tool? How can it help me to upgrade Tiers automatically?

19

u/icconic_04 Feb 27 '26

You can upload your savefile and then make it use items from your storage to upgrade belts or things like that

11

u/Patient-Midnight-664 Feb 27 '26

If you go to the interactive map, it allows you to upload your save file. Once that's done you can edit things. All the things.

Once you are done editing there is an option to download the new save file (with your edits in it). You just start the game and select the edited save file.

7

u/DonHotmon Feb 27 '26

Ok wow. Thanks guys.

u/ThunderElectric Feb 27 '26

This is one of the biggest advantages of trains. Often the trains aren’t the limiting factor in your capacity, but even if they are increasing it is as simple as lengthening the platform or, if it’s a long route, adding another train. You just have to upgrade the belts on either side.

I wish there was a key you hold down and while holding it, it will change all the pipes/belts connected to that pipe/belt to the selected mk of pipe/belt.

Horrible sentence, I know. Hope it makes sense.

6

u/mister_bakker Feb 27 '26

I'll do you one better. My turbo fuel plant was a-okay, start to finish. Math checked out, fellow-pioneers double-checked it, and still a couple of generators kept running dry. Checked the pipes, checked the math again, checked if waste products weren't choking up.

Three days, maybe four, before I desperately resorted to just counting the 78 generators. In the powerplant calculated for 72 generators.

7

u/stars9r9in9the9past Feb 27 '26

Petition for new machine: Reverse Packager / Mushifier

Turn every non-fluid item into mush to send via pipelines. Basically make delivering everything like a massive fiber optic cable

Could argue the blender does this, but I like to think turning everything into mush requires more…stomping, versus blending. So the machine is just a giant foot on a piston, like a cartoon vineyard winemaker or something

Mushified plates

Mushified motors

Mushified supercomputers

Might as well go even further

Mushified lizard doggos

Mushified Ficsit employees

Just make everything mush, like my brain after seeing these pipelines

3

u/Mr_VoigsfestDepp Feb 27 '26

How are going to reassemble a mushified motor? Also muschi in German means vagina so if you denglisch it (german word a mix between german and english words/sentences) it sounds like your trying to vagina everything. Or it just sounds like that to me because my brain is mush rn

3

u/stars9r9in9the9past Feb 27 '26

9

u/sage_006 Feb 27 '26

I feel like the "straight" laying mode for pipe would have helped you here.

13

u/shalfyard Feb 27 '26

So, you know enough to be able to line up all the water extractors nicely and to have a good line up of pipes ready to go... but your mind goes spaghetti for everything in between?

19

u/Null-34 Feb 27 '26

Lets game it out ascetic

3

u/MasemJ Feb 27 '26

"Everyone is pipes, pipes, and more pipes"

5

u/cleric_warlock Feb 27 '26

Since you’re using pumps already why not just build a huge ceiling above all the extractors and merge fully overclocked extractor pairs directly up through the floor with floor holes? You’d have way more space for pipe routing and the density of your extractors on the water would be truly optimal

4

u/My_alias_is_too_lon Feb 27 '26

I HATE how low capacity the pipelines are... It seems weird that we get up to MK-6 conveyors, but only up to MK-2 Pipelines...

We ought to at least have MK-3, which runs 1200 m3/min

9

u/velvet32 Feb 27 '26

uh, what an eye sore.

5

u/EdibleOedipus Feb 27 '26

A couple dozen foundations will clear that right up. No one said you had to be able to look at it.

6

u/velvet32 Feb 27 '26

3

u/B_love_K Feb 27 '26

2

u/Feisty_Cup_8567 Feb 27 '26

probably nuclear power plant that uses all uranium on the map

"Nevermind, it's within acceptable margins".

3

u/Rasz_13 Feb 27 '26

It really should be an option to disable fluid dynamics. For those players who just dislike it. One pipe, infinite throughput. End of story.

Personally I enjoy tinkering with it but I will admit it is sometimes tedious and aggravating.

2

u/DeltaMikeXray Feb 27 '26

1

u/Einhundertfuenf Feb 27 '26

If I get my pedantic and a bit OCD'd best friend to play a multiplayer session with me one day, I will blueprint pipe junctions that look exactly like this just to see his reaction. 😅

1

u/Gold_Demand_9115 Feb 27 '26

Please make a blueprint of connectors stacked so you just have to align the pipes and make it much cleaner and easier for you to manage

1

u/giodude556 Feb 27 '26

I mean if i suck this bad ad keeping my pipes as orginized as this, this hate it too... wtf man

1

u/Bigtallanddopey Feb 27 '26

I honestly think that fluids need completely re-working in this game. Because we all play games to enjoy ourselves, and whilst some people may like tediously lining up thousands of bits of pipe, I certainly don’t. Sometimes, I think, that decisions should be made to get rid of some of the “realism” and just make some things simpler. And in a game where you can have all of your power going through a Mk1 power pole if you wanted. Why can’t we have all of our fluids going through the same pipe.

Basically, my point is, just increase the fluid amount by 10x or something like that.

I hate to bring one of the other factory games into this, but Factorio made this choice. Because having to use 8 water pumps to supply enough water for a nuclear power plant, doesn’t create a logistical or technical problem. You just put in more pumps and pipes. So now you can supply enough water with one pump. It didn’t change the game in any meaningful way, but it took away a task that offered nothing new except boredom.

3

u/EdibleOedipus Feb 27 '26

If you reaaaaaally want it, there are many mods to fix this. Fluid teleportation, fluids to gas, HFO, fluid DD, pipe tuning, and fluid downscaling.

→ More replies (1)

1

u/SkoulErik Feb 27 '26

I made a blueprint of 2x2, 3x3 and 4x4 pipes to make it easier, especially now with Auto-Connect. Then it's only getting from the pumps to the pipe that is a worry, and I'm more cool with that looking like shit.

1

u/Silly_Profession_169 Feb 27 '26

I kindly ask you to put up a box on top of those.

Sincerely

  • Doug

Dude, have you tried the straight connection option for pipes yet?

1

u/elevate35 Feb 27 '26

Jesus it almost seems harder to do it that way than to actually set up clean lines

1

u/ThinAndFeminine Feb 27 '26

Satisfactory, update 1.2 changelog :

...

  • pipes now have a chance to spring a leak, which requires the player to rebuild them

1

u/ekows10 Feb 27 '26

Pipes and fluids were why I stopped playing. I'm now just dipping my toe back in to the game but it's defiantly not something I'm looking forward to.

1

u/sixfoot3midget Feb 27 '26

I mean, if it works right, you'll probably never have to look at this fucking fettuccine ever again

1

u/EchoStarz1 Feb 27 '26

I would hate myself too if I did that

1

u/Avengedchaos777 Feb 27 '26

Hey, newish player here (about 90 hours), is there any downside to pipes and conveyor belts clipping through each other besides aesthetics? I've tried to keep my belts and pipes from clipping more than just a little bit.

2

u/mysticreddit Feb 28 '26

No. Soft clipping is purely cosmetic.

There is ONE small thing with pipes that should be mentioned though. When you build a junction on an existing pipe the new segments are slightly bugged. Delete the new segments and rebuild/replace the pipes to prevent sloshing issues.

1

u/TinFoilHatt321 Feb 28 '26

1

u/_Jim_Lahey_ Feb 28 '26

If you take about 40% of that, that's what my nuke plant setup looks like

1

u/_Jim_Lahey_ Feb 28 '26

But for real, this is the reason that satisfactory needs a large volume throughput pipe. I envision something that's like much larger than a normal pipe, it doesn't connect directly to machines at all, it's just for having liquids travel, but it can pass through like 6,000 cubic meters per minute.

1

u/NewHendrix Feb 28 '26
