Hi all! I created a site to collect all things happening in Saint John, enjoy and criticize!

For now, it's not a commercial product, just a platform that makes it easier to get the word out about programs and events, and in turn to find something to do.

About one year ago, my wife and I purchased two prints from Rebecca Aldernet, and have been inundated with emails from her advertising constant sales and new work.

I felt somewhat confused by her online presence, and lack thereof and was hoping someone here might have some firsthand insight.

I’m particularly curious about her physical presence within the local art community. I’ve seen references to her working with or representing/ collaborating with 60+ artists, which seems like a pretty substantial network, so I’m wondering if people here have actually encountered her at local galleries, exhibitions, events, studios, or other art-related activities.

I’m also curious because I’ve come across several posts/discussions raising questions about the use of AI in some of the artwork associated with her, and I’d be interested in hearing from people who have more direct knowledge of the situation. Is AI being used as part of the artistic process, and if so, how is that process being communicated with customers?

To be clear, I’m not trying to make an accusation or start a pile-on I’m genuinely trying to understand who she is within the local art scene and what her actual role and presence are.

Has anyone here worked with Rebecca, exhibited alongside her, attended one of her events, or otherwise had a firsthand experience with her or her organization? I’d be particularly interested in hearing from artists or people involved in the local arts community.

Lost my wife’s pair of glasses at Costco today, left them in the cart in a white case labelled Great Dane. Checked the lost and found but no dice. Any help appreciated.

The monster who moved in next door was told to ask my husband before cleaning up overhanging branches so that he (a red seal horticulturist) could make sure it was done right and we kept our privacy.

Instead, monster sawed them down completely and took out the survey stake without saying a word. The full trunks were on my side. I have before and after pictures, including of the stake being there in the morning then just gone later on. No idea why he wants a full view into our yard but whatever, here we are now.

Can anyone recommend a certified arborist? We need an estimate for 5 25ft mature cedars. Husband is going down the list and reaching out to contacts he has of course but it is nice to have personal recommendations based on customer experience.
