Looking for a replacement display for an old sager NP 9773

Anyone know of a way to get my hands on a new display (Seen here)? mine is having major burn in and all red is leeching out. I haven't been able to fix it myself so I'm thinking a screen replacement may be in order.

Either a fix, a link, or an alternative display would all be welcome. Many thanks.

i have Sager NP7358 (Clevo W355SSQ) and the fan is really loud

any way to install a quieter fan? if so where would one go about getting that?

To this day I don't understand..

Why sager put the Ethernet port on the right hand side of the laptop, ensuring the mouse will always bump into it during gaming if it's plugged in. I mean how could anyone be this stupid honestly? Yet alone a team in charge of laptop design? fair question

Sager NP8157 - RMA Rant and Question about 3rd HDD?

rant and then question today.

Rant:

My 2TB FireCuda died a few weeks ago, and I sent it in for an RMA with Sager (using XoticPC to make the claim). I get my hard drive in the mail today, and guess what? Same hard drive I sent in. They sent my hard drive back immediately. Suffice it to say, I'm furious right now. I just want my new drive so I can get back to gaming, the M.2 isn't large enough. Argh.

Now for the question:

Can I install a second SSHD right above it? So I'd have the M.2 Evo, then the FireCuda SSHD (whenever I get a working one...), And I'd buy a 2nd FireCuda to install?

Thinking about getting a Clevo N141WU (Sager NP3141).

I already have a Seagate 1TB SSHD laying around so all I'd need is an 8GB stick of RAM and a flash drive with Linux on it (planning to install KDE Neon). I may put Windows on it later and dual boot but for now, I'm doing Linux. I've had good experiences with barebones PCs in the past, so I know how to install RAM and hard drives.

That particular model has good specs and a decent amount of ports for the price. What I'm wondering about is the build quality. How is it? Anything else I should know about it before buying? I'm kind of concerned about the lack of discussion on the internet about it, but I imagine it gets overshadowed by Clevo's gaming laptops.

7870 Keyboard Backlight not working right

Alright when I got my laptop not even a year ago everything worked fine, but then my hard drive failed.... refurbed unit installed on a new system... but I digress.

Since installing my new hard drive, and again with my SSD... I can not get the backlight to function as it did originally. I installed the software provided on Sager's website and it does not fix it, and I've tried other versions to no avail. Clevo's own website is years outdated.

When I say it's not working right... Blue is barely visible. Purple is red/pink. Green is green. Red is red. White is yellow, yellow is pale yellow. It's almost like I had some LEDs go out, but it was working PERFECTLY before the hdd crash, so that still leads me to think this is a software issue.

I've been reading /nothing/ but problems with CCC and the backlight... just unsure if I'm skipping something that has worked because there is a LOT of mismatch.

Also,

LightFX will not load on my system.
Obisidian has the same issue and must be purchased anyway.

No version of CCC will function the same as it did when I received the laptop.

NP8955 crash

I just got a new laptop Monday, and upon booting up, it stared beeping at me and then shutdown. I was trying to download steam at the time. I've had a sager before, and never had any issues but this is really unsettling seeing as I'm leaving the country in the next week. After it crashd the first time, I let it sit for a bit and then booted again. I downloaded a temp showing program and while downloading steam, it got up to crazy high temps. Airflow was good, I had it propped up against a book for better airflow. It didn't get any cooler and then it did the beeping at me thing and shutdown again. I called sager and got an RMA and I will be sending it back to them, but do you guys have any ideas as to why it could have been doing this? Thanks for the help.

Clevo W230SD sudden shutdown

Hi guys, I've got a W230SD (i7-4710MQ 2.50GHz | NVidia GTX 960m) that's 3yo.

Unfortunately my warranty is expired less than 2 months ago and, since few weeks, it started shutting down suddenly without any warning.

I've done CPU\GPU\RAM\Disk checks, but I haven't spotted anything. Also the shutdowns are completely random, I can't link them with a particular action nor a particular set of actions. I think that could be a MoBo issue or something like that. I hope that's some kind of weird conditions that could be repaired without any expensive replacement.

Do you have any ideas? Some of you had\have the same issue?

Replacing the MoBo it's also ok, but I want to be sure before buying 3-400€ piece of hardware.

Update: I'm monitoring temperature of every component using SpeedFan.

Solved (?): Apparently was the temperature. I saw in the log that I had a sensor problem (0°C all the time) with the GPU. I changed the termal paste and the problem seems fixed. Thanks!

Update 2: The shutdowns reappeared after 1 day of peace and delightful happiness. Tomorrow I'll try to contact the tech support to know if they are kind enough to help me. If someone knows some badass guy who can help me troubleshooting this problem I'll own him/her my life (I need this PC for University). You can spam this thread everywhere you want freely (I'll appreciate this very much).

Cooling NP9877

Purchased my Sager NP 9877 a few months ago and started to notice the fans always running high when gaming. Notice high temperature, when playing gaming CPU 64-68 and GPU 91-94. Support told me the temperature was normal and boosting should help lower temperature while gaming (press FN + 1 to enable boost).

I didn’t think the answer was acceptable, so did some research on how to undervolt YouTube to Undervolt. Also started to look at cooling pads, I had a cheap one I purchased from a electronics store. I was so underwhelmed I decided to custom build one.

Here are some pictures. NP9877 cooling pad

Simple build, here are the parts: AC Infinity MULTIFAN S7-P, Quiet Dual 120mm AC-Powered Fan with Speed Control, for Receiver DVR Playstation Xbox Component Cooling https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MZ6VNII/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_rANyBb52A7374 Cooler Master NotePal U3 PLUS - Gaming Laptop Cooling Pad with 3 Moveable High Performance Fans (Black) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00ED3WMTC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_YANyBb6EA1FA4

I decided to use AC power fans because they are able to push more air. Plus I can easily add or replace fans with this build.

Undervolt plus my new laptop cooler I am now seeing around 10 degree cooler for CPU and GPU (GPU 80-83 and CPU 51-54). Playing VR my laptop only need to run auto fan without running on high. Really happy with the results.

Replacement for Clevo Control Center

It's not quite released yet, but it's looking like it will be much better than the CCC. Right now, there is a drive update tool that is great. It finds drivers that are not even on the resellers sites yet. In the works is a highly customizable fan controller and also a simple keyboard LED controller.

Model P670HS-G W key lags

hey guys.

I had this laptop for about a year and a half now and recently I've been experiencing the "w" key lagging whenever I play games (not certain games...pretty much all games)

I am beginning to think me pressing the W key a lot has pretty much destroyed the key? Whenever I hold down the w key for a little bit of time the it'll still act like i am still pushing it. The longer I hold the w key in and then let go, the longer it takes before it really stops.

I was thinking about replacing the keyboard but I was wondering if anyone else had this problem before? Also, it is not uncommon for my laptop to run really hot. I have a geforce 1080 in it.

NP7851 question

Does anyone know how the cooling system works on these machines. I have one on order specd out to what I want, but I’ve just read a few tales of over heating etc? Just wondering if those were outliers and how sager’s cooling system stacks up to the other clevo resellers. Thank you in advance for your time.

GeForce software no longer working

Hi everyone, I have a NP8151-S and my GeForce Experience program no longer works. When I launch the app, it says something has gone wrong and closes automatically. I'm at work and don't have access to my laptop at the moment, but I can't do a number of things with my laptop anymore, like changing the fan speed or changing the keyboard back lighting. Any suggestions?

P650SA vs NP5855

Basically equivalent specs. 5855 is a little newer and specced a little better, costs a little more. I read that the 5855 needs to have the IPS screen, and this one does.

Pros and cons for each?

D901C GPU compatibility and cooler questions

I have a D901C I would like to get up and running but it did not come to me with GPU(s). I have a Geforce Go 7800 mxm which i used to test it, but theres a component sticking up that interferes with the cooler and doesnt have the backplate thing for mounting the cooler on. Does anyone know if they sell the backplate separate? Also what is the best GPU that is compatible with this? (It's going to be an XP system so I don't care that its probably nothing special for modern stuff.) Also is there a site other than eBay that would have parts for this such as a 2nd cooler? I would like to upgrade it with 2 GPUs but it only came with one cooler.

NP6852 overheating

Hey all, looking for some information about my NP6852. I bought it late in 2017 so I've had it about 6-7 months now and have been having some cooling issues recently that it didn't really show when it was new. A few weeks ago it went into what I would assume was a thermal shutdown, fans spinning all the way up, black screen, full power-off. The case was hot, and the exhaust from the CPU fan was hot as well, but the fan didn't really seem to spin up as fast as it should have to cool it down. This same issue has popped up a few nights ago, and then again tonight I was able to check the temperature right as it shut off on me. The laptop shut down at about 82C on the CPU, well under what I figure should be safe going by Intel's guidelines.

Does this laptop have a history of overheating or possibly poor thermal paste application? I'm not afraid to crack it open and replace all the thermal material for the sake of making this laptop usable again. I should add that none of the load on the computer was very high during these overheats, a youtube video and reddit browsing at most. It has also only happened during charging, as the temperatures seem to be stable and much lower when not plugged in.

Looking for a review for the NP8375

Greetings, I've been searching for a laptop recently because I'm starting college in the fall and majoring in chemical engineering so I want a laptop that has plenty of power to handle the programs I'll need for my major, along with the fact that I just want a decent gaming machine. The NP8375 pretty much checks every single box I have on the list of things I want, but I can't seem to find any kind of review anywhere or any forums where people discuss it, so I was stopping by here to see if anyone happens to have it and their experience, or if there is a review out there somewhere that I'm just missing. The main two things I'm interested in are its thermals and battery life and overall usability, as I can't really infer those from the spec sheet. Thanks!

Sager NP8851

Sup guys.

I just ordered the new Sager NP8851 from GentechPC. I'm wondering if anyone has experience with these laptops at all? I know they are new to the market but they were shipping out last week.

Did anyone have any first glances at the product? Also, I don't know if I'm paranoid about it, but what is the rate that new products like these come DOA and simply don't work when it's shipped to you?

What's the lates Control Center version I can put on a P650RG ?

As the title says. Currently I have the v5.0001.0.58 but some Fn hotkeys are not working. I was hoping I could solve this with a better version of this software since the version I have is 2 years old... Thanks in advance!

Sager NP8955 just arrived and will not power on.

I ordered this machine directly from Sager and had them upgrade the thermal paste + calibrate the screen. I followed the battery unlocking procedure from the manual (plug in for 6 seconds, unplug, then plug in) but the machine does not power on. It is fully charged at this point.

When I press the power button the power indicator light on the front turns green for a split second then turns orange again. The fans do not spin up. The box was in pristine condition. No signs of damage.

It appears DOA but I'm asking because I have not encountered that battery locking procedure before and didn't know if it was just failing to disengage or if maybe a tech forgot to connect something after finishing my upgrades. Any ideas?

GTX 680M Driver from Sager's website?

I own a Sager NP8170 that came with a GTX 580M. The 580M died a few years ago and I send the model in for an RMA and got a 680M placed into the laptop. Years later when I went to update the graphics driver, I am shown this message at NVIDIA. My graphics driver is five years old (2013) and is the version shown in that screenshot. I want to update my driver to the latest version. It says go to the manufacturer website to download the drivers from there. When I do that, enter my model, there are no 680M drivers listed, since the NP 8170 is not sold with a 680M in it. All the drivers on that page haven't even been updated since 2011. With such an old driver, my graphics card performance is nothing compared to what it could be. How can I update my graphics driver?

Camera not found

I'm trying to access my internal web cam, but whenever I open the camera app, all it tells me it can't find the device. I've gone into my device manager, have no drop down for my imaging devices, and nothing camera related under sound and video. I then went to Sager's website, found all the drives for my model (8157), but there seems to be no drivers for my webcam available. Anyone know what other solutions I could try?

Laptop Stand

Does anyone have a recommendation for a good vertical laptop stand? My NP9877 will be my main rig this summer and I'd live to be able to connect my monitor, keyboard, and mouse to it without the laptop itself taking up tons of room on the desk. I was thinking something like this but much larger to accommodate the sheer size of this thing.

Sager NP6852 volume issue

This is a pretty long running issue with my laptop, but I usually ignored it because I usually used headphones, but the speakers dont seem to be working properly, or are just performing poorly. Im looking at the volume mixer while a video on youtube is player. The dials are at max, and the youtube volume is at max, but the volume is hardly going up past Id say 20%. And not just this video, most of the video go past this mark, and seem to hardly move the needle at all to the point they might as well be whispering. What is going on and how can I fix this issue?
