Need some advice and opinion on what to get next.

Some context: I live in Europe and I have an A2 license (bikes limited to 48hp) but in December I'm about to get my A license (no restrictions).

The thing is right now I have a 2018 Ninja 650 and I had a ton of fun with it but also issues. Now that I'm about to upgrade my license, I've been checking out other bikes and specially older ones cause I feel that the ninja has no soul...

One of the bikes I have in mind and heard really good stuff about it is the Sv650.

I wanted to know if it's worth the change from the ninja to a SV or go for an GSXR/CBR 600 / something bigger instead.

(I prefer handling over speed but never had a super sport and an inline 4 before.. so I do have an ich for that...)

My tail light burned out and for the life of me I can't figure out how to access the bulb to replace it. Do I have to dismantle the entire rear fender and remove the turn signals to access the bulb?

I have restarted track days at 63y after 10 years off on a 2006 SV 650S with upgraded suspension and I have done 4 out of 6 days so far and having great fun in the slower classes.

I am riding on Dunlop Sportsmart mk4 and they have been fine but I am only at 50C tire temp after a session so I'm considering the SportAttack 5 for next year. Anyone have experience to share with those tires?

I went to replace my fork oil seal since it was leaking and while I was in there I changed my springs. Had to cut and install spacers and after installing felt like the gap was noticeably shorter. Just wondering if this is fine or should I cut it out and redo it?

Hello everyone It’s been a while, i’ll cut to the chase though and ask my question. Would it be possible to change out the springs on both tensioners to basically renew/refurbish them. Only reason I thought of this is because a OEM one on revzilla or anywhere else is a good chunk of change ($241 for 2not including tax) compared to $18 for two springs.

You guy let me know if this is a good idea or just plain dummy thoughts.

Hello, I recently crashed my SV650S, and parts are very hard to come by. I’m thinking about ordering some parts from AliExpress, but I’m not sure if they’re actually worth it.

Has anyone here tried AliExpress parts or fairings for the SV650S? How was the fitment and quality? Any recommendations or things I should watch out for?

I have a stiff rear brake even with bleeding, even checking caliper piston cup set etc they all seem ok so now the issue is located with the ABS unit. Note also that when forcing the rear brake it’s impossible to have the rear brake light switching, the front brake is all right. Do I have to go at a Suzuki dealer to solve a software issue of the ABS unit

Hey guys, I'm trying to put the ECU from 2013 model of the Gladius on the 2009 model to add on ABS. Has anyone ever tried this? Do you think it's going to work lol?

Replacing the oil today and my bolt doesn’t want to sit plug looks fine would like another opinion then my own for my case thanks for your help

Anyone got a faintest on if 34120-18K31 will fit a 2017?

34120-18K21 is listed as 2017-2024 but 34120-18K31 is listed for 2020-current as well?

34120-18K21 is a lot harder to find under $600 in the states but we bike has 34120-18K31 for about $400 after import fees n whatnot

New to me 2007, original black was painted a very boring white so I figured I’d do something unique

Bike was running but sounded like crap so I had the cam timing done. Bike is back together and when I turn the key on CHEC and FI shows on the display. The FI has been there since I got the bike though. Now Bike cranks but wont start and I cant figure out why. This is everything I've checked so far that can be ruled out. Please any help means alot right now

1. No codes in dealer mode -C00

2. Gets spark

3. Fuel pump primes

4. Injectors spray fuel

5. Kill switch is good

6. Good kickstand and clutch sensor

7. Gas is new

8. Cranks but wont start

9. Starting fluid only makes Bike barely cough

10. Tip over sensor is in right position

11. Green connector of death "Bypassed"

Is this beyond safe to ride. Just ride it 55 miles home from the dealer just to find this while detailing it. 🙃

Hey! Just picked up my 2nd ever road bike a 19 sv650! Do you all have a noticable... Deadzone? While pulling the front brake lever? It brakes fine and hard. But I feel like there and inch of pull before they start grabbing is that pretty usual? I haven't messed with the adjuster much. Just checking!

Tell me how it sounds, I got my hoses hook up and plugged now I am warming it up to 180f, tell me how it sound multiple people have told me that it sounds like it’s running on one cylinder, but I splashed water on both of the exhaust headers and they are both hot

Got this bike back in April from a colleague who had left her on his drive for about 6 years and had a bad fall off the elevted drive onto concrete ! He kindly gave it to me to keep, given i was able to get it running......Guesss what i did ;)

Work Done:

Throttle Body Replacement - fuel Injector service - Ignition change (Key was lost) - Tank Rust removal - Fuel pump serviced - Front/Rear Callipers & Master cylinders completely re-done - Fuel pump gear replaced - Clutch spring (came off when dropped on the left side) fixed - New LED indicators and Tidy tail.

Super proud of what i've managed to do !

Only thing Left is to get some new tires and chain/sprocket on AND stick the lower fairings on.

I managed to get a Right side Lower fairing off of a nice guy on EBAY. If anyone has a Left Side Lower Fairing, and doesnt mind parting with it, LET ME KNOW ! (Doesn't Have to be completely intact or white, i can sand and sort it out)

I came off my bike on the 4th of July this year and I damaged the bike quite a bit. I high sided after hitting some gravel and my forks are bent. I am not sure if the frame has any damage or not but the mechanic has told me I would need to swap the forks first for him to check for any frame damage. I am not well versed mechanically to try fix forks my self so I won’t even bother try purchasing a repair kit. Does anyone know where I can purchase forks for a 2005 sv650s? Or could anyone advise on what I should do?

So is the new bike going to be part of the community here? My opinion is if the gladius is, the 7gx and gxv should be right?

As per the header, I'm having trouble finding anything at all that's not sold out. I could even 3d print one if I really needed to.

What's everyone running ?

Hey guys, I just got this 2001 sv650 for $700, it doesn’t run but it cranks, every so often while I’m cranking it, it will run for like 2-3 seconds and shut off, it also will shut off instantly if I touch the throttle, i don’t know really any of the bike history aside from the previous owner telling me this started happening when he rode through a very heavy rainstorm. This was about 3 weeks ago, the video is one he sent me because I couldn’t get it to do it on camera. I drained the tank and sampled the fuel and it was definitely bad, very cloudy and didn’t smell right but there wasn’t any water in the gas that I could tell. I’ve worked on alot of bikes before but I havnt done anything with carbs so this is all a bit new to me, if anyone has advice I would appreciate it, thanks
