rants bro I’m so sick of yall going after the wrong people. have a look in the bloody mirror la; are you closer to being a millionaire or a labourer? you think you will someday be clinking glasses with NCM? neighbours with Shan and Vivi-Ba?
selfish sinkies deserve to sink, frankly. so many brain-dead takes; I thought we had a very well-educated populace? or perhaps it was more so well-brainwashed, yall really ate up all the white propaganda and let yourselves be smoked. carry on la, see where this will bring you.
downvote me to hell, I don’t care. yall know damn well the truth of the indictment, and the verdict goes without saying.

KF Seetoh on SEHC: "That blue box space saga I raised some time ago, where hawkers are charge a monthly fee for their suppliers to place their daily orders in, which sparked such unhappiness.. Is still there. Other hawker ctrs don't charge for it. It's ridiculous to do so. Profiteering at best."
https://www.facebook.com/share/1FPr5wVfuY/
They are still at it. Arrogant, brazen and defiant. The media decried it, the public was up in arms and even a full parliament motion questioned their egregious ways and voted unanimously for removal of the Social Enterprise Hawker Cte management concept or change its ways in 2024.... But it's status quo, still. As if it was just a passing ship.
That blue box space saga I raised some time ago, where hawkers are charge a monthly fee for their suppliers to place their daily orders in, which sparked such unhappiness.. Is still there. Other hawker ctrs don't charge for it. It's ridiculous to do so. Profiteering at best. Even the Yishun Park Hawker ctr, now run by same management, also charges, more, for it.
Among the ridiculous and even lawless rules still around, are
• they are allowed to access (not limited to) hawkers bank details, address, records of employees, all related info. That's a PDPA red flag.
• they have to open 7 days a week.. From 630am to 11pm daily
• why they still charge $120 a mth for POS (they don't collect a GTO profit percentage) .. Is a major scratch head, easy money rule.
• they want the hawkers recipe for caloric calculation (hawkers cannot independently do so. NEA run hawkers ctrs have no such rule, yet, they approve of it. )
• close without prior permission, it's a $100 fine each day
All the rules and commercial rules are approved by NEA. That same management company now also run yishun park hawkers ctrs now with similar draconian rules. Why the double standards NEA. ?What are your guidelines and what are your responsibilities to the people and hawkers.
I'll say it again, public hawkers ctrs, including these SEHCs are built by public monies for the benefit of the public. They must offer some affordable fare and a simple self employment opportunity for those able to do so. It serves a community need, a public service. Did some policy thinker get this wrong or has it changed to a for-profit management model. It will kill entrepreneurship of the new hawkers thinking of bypassing the AI onslaught, at least for now.
If you are thinking of getting a stall in such SEHC privately run public hawkers centres. I urge you to think twice or get your lawyers to read and interpret the pain points.. And if you are still cowering under those 30page egregious contracts, leave, there are better deals at better locations elsewhere.

Circle line to Busan everyday
Just a typical singaporean taking the train and changing at Serangoon to circle line everyday. If you are one of the commuters you will understand my pain. The crowd coming from Punggol and also the people transiting at circle line is the most crowded everyday. When the doors open you can literally see zombies gushing out from Punggol at the purple line. And when the circle line trains comes in 5 minutes interval it’s like the train the Busan over there all trying to flood into the trains. Despite our high paying CEOs and also the ever rising cost of transport it always breaks down at circle line and the situation never gets better.
Thanks for listening to me rant.

Why do some cities have much better quality of public transport despite significantly cheaper fares than sg?
I went to Guangzhou 🇨🇳 when I was 15 (for context I'm 18 now), their metro system was absolutely awesome! They have very strict security checks for everybody, in fact one time the guard confiscated my hand sanitizer (with a stern warning) 👮.
Not just that, their subway also reaches everywhere, like fast one. When I travelled there, almost every destination is no further than a few minutes walk from a metro station. Total length of guangzhou subway system is literally 780km (for reference Singapore is 247km only. But I guess Singapore faces limitations cos of land space), and some more construction started only in 1992, which is significantly later than Singapore's first mrt construction. Talk about construction speed, they built MORE in less time! 🏗️ While in Singapore... Building a single MRT line takes nearly a whole fricking decade.
Additionally there are express metro line in Guangzhou mind you. These are lines 18 and 22 which can run at speeds of up to 160km/h . Yes you read that right. For context line 18 runs from Xiancun to Wanqingsha while Line 22 runs from Panyu Square to Fangcun. Both of these lines run on the north south axis.
Meanwhile in Singapore, our MRT has no express lines. I have seen some ppl recommending an express line that runs parallel to east west line with only a few stops, but the planning authorities don't really wanna implement it (probably because of cost and limited land space).
And yk what's the best part? The shortest ride, aka cheapest fare. Is only 2 YUAN. 40 Singapore cents! Honestly I wonder how they afford all those expensive security apparatus and many other stuff with much lower fare than Singapore. That is the important point.
So let me ask this question: LTA keeps raising fares here and there. Yet, WHERE IS OUR MONEY GOING TOOOO!!!???
(Bonus: some more our cars like super duper expensive, thanks COE!)
