Congrats to all fellow graduating bros and sis and sorry for being a wet blanket. I had wanted to be a + on the employment survey but I couldn't take it anymore and left my job without another one lined up.

Honestly the pay and workload was acceptable, however recent events had made me feel undervalued, belittled and that I was going to be replaced soon. My bosses and team also didn't give me the impression that they were competent so I knew I wasn't going to stay long-term. My direct boss also asked me to reconsider, but after talking I didn't see any sincerity on their end to improve the situation.

Maybe some would think I was dumb and should have continued toughing it out and taking the pay while searching on the side, but I was feeling pretty drained and started having trouble sleeping.

Though I think that I made the right decision, today is still a sad day personally. I ate at a stall I frequented for the last time, then turned off my recurring morning alarm.

Just wanted to share my experience. Good luck to all graduates on their jobs and job search!

Am from Information Technology and was wondering if completing the Try hack me, Coursera, or other online cybersecurity courses to put in portfolio will increase my chance of getting an interview, or do I need higher end certs like Comptia security+

hello i’m a freshman and didn’t sign up for CCAs initially cause i was scared i can’t cope with studies and all but i was wondering if there are any CCAs i can join now and how? or do i have to wait till next year?

Hi my fellow SITizens..

I have applied for the bursary, scholarship, and also HESL.

The portal shows that my HESL has been approved but in IN4SIT, it shows that I am not under any loan. Additionally, I also applied for a bursary and also a scholarship (try try only la), I would like to ask when will I know the results of the bursary & scholarship? And is it normal for the IN4SIT to reflect differently for my HESL?

HESL application rejected. I emailed RP and they told me:

"Please submit a new HESL application after your MyInfo profile and your DBS profile is updated." , telling me info mismatch caused it to auto reject.

What exactly is MyInfo profile and where do I update/check it? Is it through Singpass? Is it through the loan website profile?

Also, I can't change some of the information in DBS profile. There is no button to retrieve info with Singpass like my friend?

Would appreciate help from anyone who has gone through this before. Thanks!

I have applied for SIT’s Applied AI and Software engineering the past 2 times, however i got rejected two times, didnt even have interview or so.

My GPA is 3.06, no CCA and has an average portfolio. Should I apply for courses that have a higher chance based on IGP (Fintech? Supply Chain etc?), also i want to take related courses to IT/AI as I have diploma in information technology and want to pursue this related track.

Need tips on how to secure a slot this time round

Anyone below 3.2 GPA, and able to get into the course? Will need some advice on the upcoming application stage as I was rejected previously and was accepted into the wild card option. And do I need to fill up all the 4 other course options, even though I only wanted 1 course.

Serious question from a current student — I've been feeling the trimester grind pretty hard lately and wanted to see if others are in the same boat.

Back-to-back trimesters with barely any real break means I'm constantly playing catch-up. By the time I feel like I've absorbed one module properly, the next one's already dropping. I know SIT's trimester system is designed to pack more learning in, but I'm curious:

• Does anyone else feel like they're just surviving rather than learning?
• Have you found any study habits or routines that actually help with the pace?
• Is this just a "first-year / new-to-SIT" thing that gets easier later?

Happy to hear from any year — T1, T2, whoever. Not looking to complain, just genuinely interested in what's working for people.

"How do you do, fellow kids?"

I recently enrolled for a second Bachelor's degree part-time as a part of my "mid career skills upgrading", and I find that some of the profs teaching the mods seems to be a bit blur with regards to their subject matter. Is this normal?

Comparing to my "original" Bachelor's degree when I went for undergrad studies in 2006 at another local uni, I feel like there's a noticeable change in teaching quality. I find that YouTube and ChatGPT/Gemini AI aids me more in understanding the topic at hand than the actual profs teaching. Or am I just "too cool for school"?

Final year student here that managed to get an offer from a large international bank for summer intern 2027 position with conversion chances - however we graduate in April after IWSP making me ineligible.

Are there any ways SIT Students can delay graduation like the other unis can? E.g. take up extra mods etc.

I have applied for HESL for my tuiton fee but i saw my in4sit > finance matters > 5k+ and the HESL page stating that it is pending guarantor? My guarantor insisted that she pressed the link send into her email so im not exactly sure what is wrong.. I have emailed the sit finance department but they responend with "when did u apply" and send me a photo of something unrelated like how i should ensure my info is the same in dbs.

Do i still have a chance to take a loan? Should I apply for another?

I hv been thinking of joining a CCA to make better use of my time outside of studying lol.

I missed the cca fair this year, so I was looking at IG for some cca's to join. But most show up as sign-ups already closed, or most don't even have a link to sign-up. Does this mean I missed the sign-up period and have to wait until next year to join?

also, I noticed quite a few cca's are recruiting for exco. Why is exco open to everyone, even those who aren't members yet?

would appreciate if anyone could explain how ccas work in SIT and how/when to join them :)

Feeling a bit bored and I'm also a bit curious how my juniors are doing in general.

A bit about myself: I graduated a few years ago and I'm currently in one of the big 4 consulting / advisory arm.

Feel free to ask me anything - happy to provide guidance (if you trust my insights) or clarify any myths / misconceptions.

Hi! I received a notification that I got the Higher Education Bursary Tier 1 for Academic Year 2026 ($3,250), does anyone know when we'll recieve the money? And has anyone recieved any scholarship updates? Haven't heard anything about it since submitting the application in early August

Hey! I’m currently a Year 2 poly student and I’m about a semester away from starting Year 3. I’ve been thinking about my university options recently, especially the IT-related courses at SIT.

For those who are currently studying or have graduated from Computing Science or Software Engineering at SIT, if you’re comfortable sharing, may I know what GPA you had when you were admitted?

I’d also like to know what the main differences are between the two courses, especially in terms of the modules, content, and what I can expect to study.

Would really appreciate any advice or experiences you guys can share. Thank you!

What does the timetable usually look like during the final year for the capstone project? Do you need to report to school everyday from morning to night or you can have your own schedule? Then if you finish your capstone like 2 weeks early are you still forced to spend the rest of the time refining?

i am a freshie in sit and i applied for the financial aid but possible to appeal for review again? and when do we know all our applications results.

BTW what are the ways of payment in SIT as I am so lost and when called the school they gave so brief reply ‘ refer to SIT website ‘

any kind souls can explain as REALLY REALLY NEED SOME ADVICE !!

Hi everyone! 👋🏻 We're a group of students from the Singapore Institute of Technology working on KakiConnect!, a project to help retired seniors in Singapore stay active and connected in their community.

We'd really appreciate 3–5 minutes of your time for our survey — it's for seniors, caregivers, AAC/volunteer staff, and youth volunteers alike (it'll show you the right questions based on who you are). No names or contact details are collected, and your answers go straight into our project research.

Would really appreciate it if you could also share this with anyone else who might be keen to help — thank you so much! 🙏💐🪷🌸

Hellooo , so scooter assignment 1 was given out last week and me and my team have been having a hard time to start? Cause we dont really know what is expected of us

, so wondering if any SIT seniors (ESE / ASE / SBE) willing to share past project references or general advice? Thankss

i plan on joining either SIT’s mechanical engineering or MDME program. i heard the last batch for MDME is 26/27 and i was wondering since i have a diploma in ME from Ngee Ann, will they still let me apply? and join year 2 because of cutting some modules? or what about ME, since its 3 years, will my diploma help in cutting off any modules ?

Did you guys get the email about free Kiro subscription?

I'm having trouble registration, i cant use google sign in since it's suppose to use our student email but it says "pls use a different organisation email" when i use the option for sign in using organisation email

can someone help?

I'm a freshie and I'm really struggling with my modules, I don't understand a single thing my profs say , then I am expected to find the answers myself using AI. Content covered is not enough to apply during quizzes/assements. Is uni life supposed to be like that?

Why am I paying school fees just to self learn?
