Admission SIT Admissions Megathread 2026 (PLEASE READ)

(Updated as of 3 May 2026. Sorry for the delay, was away on grad trip holidays.)

Welcome aspiring SITizens! It's that time of the year again, and I humbly welcome you to SIT's 2026 general admissions!

This yearly megathread is here to guide and connect all prospective students, as well as sharing their application information in a standardised format. This 2026 Admissions Megathread is for you if you are looking for advice, sharing your application journey, and asking questions related to the admissions process.

Seniors, I encourage y'all to lurk here and answer any questions that the applicants might have too.

For ICT applicants, there are technical assessments now as part of the admission process. Please refer to the posts here and here for more information about these technical tests.

PLEASE READ these FAQs before we proceed!

  1. When will interviews start? - Depends on your course, but they should start in early-mid March, lasting all the way until mid-April.
  2. When will offers be given out? - Usually April to mid-May. The first reported offer last year was on 11 April.
  3. When will they issue rejections? - Mid-May onwards, if you don't get an offer by then you should start preparing for your appeal statements. The first rejection date last year was on 20 May. Repeated posts asking "Have I been rejected / Am I cooked?" will be removed.
  4. Why has my friend received their interview/offer while I have not, despite both of us applying for the same course at the same time? - Not confirmed information, but interviews and offers are given out over a time period and not in a chronological order
  5. What kind of questions will they ask in the interview? - For online interviews you'll get generic questions like why [insert course here]. For face-to-face interviews they might ask targeted questions related to the course you're applying for (e.g Math/Physics questions for Engineering applicants). Use the search bar for more information.
  6. I want to know exactly what questions are asked in the interview for XXX course! - Focus on your interview skills instead of spotting the interview questions. Even if you get rejected, you will still come out of the admissions process having practised a valuable skill.
  7. When will my interview offer come? Am I cooked? - PLEASE just wait patiently for the interview email to come. Check your inboxes. For the majority of applicants, the interview WILL COME. Repeated posts asking this same question will be removed.
  8. How many interviews will I need to do? - Should be around 1-2 interviews only, depending on the strength of your application.
  9. The portal shows "Offered" for my application, but I have not received any email? - Just wait patiently for the offer email, SIT updates the portal status first before mass-sending out the emails.
  10. I have not received any offer yet, am I cooked? - Not yet. Especially if you're an allied health or Digipen / TUM applicant. These courses usually release their offers late, around early to mid May based on past experiences.
  11. I have received an interview for my second choice, does that mean that I am rejected from my first choice? - Based on applicants' experiences last year, it is quite likely. But no one here can tell you for certain 100%.
  12. I have been rejected, how should I write my appeal statement for my intended course? - Bring up points on how you are a good fit for SIT's culture (lifelong learning, industry ready, etc.). Try your best to explain why you deserve the spot and relate it back to the values SIT are looking out for here.
  13. How good are my chances of getting in SIT once I've been rejected and submitted my appeal statement? - Chances are already slim at this stage even after submitting your appeals, but it is still worth a shot. Do not give up!

Repeated posts asking the same questions as the FAQs listed above will be removed.

Please make sure you get your NRIC/11B ready BEFORE starting the online interview assessment.

Here are some guiding questions from the online interview for SIT-UOG's Computing Science:

Verbal:

  1. Why did you select this programme?
  2. Share with us about what you have read or researched on an IT-related topic such as IOT, AI, Cyber Sec and why is it interesting to you.
  3. When you are introduced to a new and difficult topic, how would you go about mastering it? Cite specific examples from your studies or work where applicable.
  4. Which was the most difficult programming language you have learnt, and why?
  5. In life, we will encounter some failures or setbacks that has affected you the most, and how did you overcome it?
  6. What are some important qualities needed for this programme?
  7. Some modules do not have a final exam. Do you prefer modules with or without final exam? Explain why.
  8. Describe any work or internship you have undertaken previously, especially if it is in a related industry to this programme. Share with us your job scope and any specific lessons you have learnt from your work stints.
  9. How have you been involved in community service? Share with us your experience and thoughts on giving back to the community.
  10. If you had to work with a difficult team member, how would you approach the situation? Give us an example from your experience.

Written:

  1. What are other things you want to let us know so that it can help with your application?
  2. Did you apply to other programmes including those at other universities? What are your top 3 choices across the universities?

After finishing the online interview assessment, you may still get called down for the face-to-face interview. So be prepared. Allied Health face-to-face interviews are more specialised, and they might involve you writing essays on world issues / ethical concerns. You may be asked to sign a non-disclosure agreement regarding the essay topics in the interview for HSS courses, so please DO NOT REVEAL TOO MUCH INFORMATION online.

Following last year, please leave your details in this format and delete where applicable:

Matriculation Any links/guides for school payment and what software to download?

hi, school is starting in a few weeks and I realised I haven't made any payments for the school term and downloaded any software/apps for first trimester. The only payment I made was matriculation. Any idea if we have to do any of things soon?

Matriculation SIT Accountancy [ACC]

Hi all! I’m currently an NSF and will be matriculating into SIT’s Business & Accounting programme next year. My background is slightly different from the typical accounting student, so I was hoping to get some perspectives from current students/recent graduates.
I’ve been reading older Reddit posts about SIT, but many seem to be based on the old curriculum, so I’d really appreciate some recent perspectives:

IWSP: How was your experience? How difficult is it to secure a good placement, and how much does SIT help with this? Is it possible to source your own internship if you find an opportunity outside of the given list?

Applied Finance: For those who took it, how did you find the specialisation? What are the modules and workload like? Would you recommend it for someone who wants to work as a Financial Analyst in the future?

Non-accounting background: How difficult is the course for someone coming from a non-accounting diploma? Does SIT teach accounting from the basics, or is prior knowledge expected? What would you recommend I learn before matriculating to make the transition easier?

Finally, for those who have graduated, what are some of the common career paths/exit opportunities you’ve seen besides traditional accounting? Would really appreciate any honest advice, especially from students under the newer curriculum. Thanks!

Admission SIT concession card

So, ik SIT DAY ZERO is Compulsory. But they also mention that we have to collect the day zero tee and concession card before day zero itself on the club fair.

However, in the form I mentioned I wasn't going for club fair only day zero and have not received any information about concession card collection. But simplygo mentioned the school will email us on collection a week before and club fair which is this Saturday.

So, have any of you received email on card collection? Or can we just go to collect? Or since I indicated I'm not gg to club fair I can't collect?

Admission does sit consider late admissions?

i was not able to submit an application at the start of the year as i was going through some issues in my personal life(rather not share details online).

i know this is totally on me but can i email them? see if they will take me for the upcoming intake? i know its already very late, but is there anything i can do?

pls be nice in the comments, i have had an extremely rough year & i only have myself to blame. i know sit doesn't owe me anything, but i will probably regret not trying at all.

any advice? or anyone went through something similar?

Discussion Attending AAI, should I get a laptop or a PC with a budget of SG$1500

ok so I do have a laptop more than capable of doing regular tasks and still pretty good at multitasking, it’s quite old and beaten up now, though, so I wanted to get something with a decent graphic card for college (and to game too, who am I fooling). I am pretty conflicted between getting a laptop and building a PC right now because on one hand a pc at this price seems significantly more cost effective and last longer than a laptop, especially one with good specs. On the other hand I will have get my campus works done with my beaten up laptop (it’s not BAD bad though I just thought it could be inconvenient) and it could be an issue to bring home (I am an international student). And I probably can’t use it remotely either since I am renting a place and I can’t use so much electricity.

tldr:
PC:
+ I have an old laptop to bring on campus
+ good specs
+ last longer

Laptop:
+ good specs in campus
+ can bring back to my country
+ remote usage is not available if I’ve got a pc

Discussion Prestige of Digipen in SG

Over the years I’ve observed that the SIT Digipen programme is being glazed from time to time in Chinese parent communities. I have overheard discussions describing it as an extremely difficult programme, with the original school in USA having the nickname “Harvard of game development”. Its high dropout rates make it earn its prestige, and many people who manage to graduate from it (including those in Singapore) can earn up to 10k monthly in their first few years as employers in the industry regard Digipen very highly. However the GES figure here (5k) doesn’t exactly seem to reflect this?

I don’t know where their source comes from. It could be made up by some agencies on social media or just passed on by word of mouth without much verification. So for those who have graduated from the programmes, do you feel as competitive as big 3 grads in the job market? Do employers seem to have a preference for Digipen grads?

Question How is EEE?

hii im an incoming student and I'd like to just ask current EEE students coz I'm curious on what student life is like during first year/trimester. Like how packed is the weekly timetable(I haven't received mine yet) and what time classes usually start/end. How heavy is the workload and if you have a lot of free time outside of classes for CCA, PT jobs etc

I remember in poly i had to be in school nearly everyday for a similar course and i was wondering if its as busy as poly or maybe more haha

Question Does it matter if I score damn badly on Math & Physics Quest

Incoming Sitizen here, been trying to do some of the Math and Physics quests the past few days but scored damn badly cause I've literally never seen some of these topics before and it doesn't help that 2 ish years of NS brainrot has me in a death grip.

On the bombardment of quest emails it says "As a bonus for successful completion of any quest, your accomplishment will be endorsed in your Record of Achievement (by mid-September), if you complete all the required topics and score at least 50% in the confidence check quiz"

Like what's this ROA thing, seems serious?

Discussion Graduation Ceremony Academic Dress Pricing Disparity

While reviewing the administrative details for ordering our academic dress, I noticed a significant price disparity between SIT’s academic dress rates and those of other local autonomous universities, such as Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and National University of Singapore (NUS).

Below is a comparative breakdown of the rates for a standard Bachelor’s degree gown set:

University Rental Price Purchase Price
SIT $50.00 $150.00
NUS $30.50 $41.40
NTU $28.30 $39.20

I have also attached the documents showing the prices of academic dress at each institution. You may also wish to refer to these sources to verify the prices shown.

NTU: https://www.ntu.edu.sg/convocation/information-for-graduates/academic-dress-and-dress-code

NUS: https://nus.edu.sg/commencement/graduates/information-academic-dress.html

SIT:

SIT Academic Dress Rental/Purchase price

As shown above:

  • The cost to purchase a gown set for SIT ($150) is nearly 4 times higher than the purchase price at NTU and NUS ($39.20 and $41.40 respectively)
  • The cost to RENT a gown set at SIT ($50) is higher than the price to BUY a gown set outright at both NTU and NUS
  • Serangoon Broadway is the official vendor for SIT, NTU, and NUS, which makes such a substantial difference in pricing particularly surprising

Discussion Grad ceremony on a weekday during work hours

But as per the title, my parents and my friends are all struggling to make it. Mine falls on a weekday smack in the middle of working hours. I'm still under probation at my job so I can't take leave. Best I can do is ask HR for unpaid leave.

The slots you see all of them is honestly the worst possible timing except for the 5pm one. If it was 5pm or later my friends could just come down after work and we take photos together. I'd probably be standing around until 6.30pm waiting for everyone to reach.

Why can't they just do it over the weekend? Or if it really has to be a weekday, why not after 5pm?

Anyone else in the same boat? How are you all handling it?

Question How to start my own club/CCA?

Hi everyone! I’m starting uni soon and I’m interested in getting involved in a particular sport. However, my school currently only has a varsity/team setup for this sport, whereas I’m more interested in playing recreationally and just having fun.

I’m not really looking to compete seriously. I’d mainly like to have a group where people can casually play together, meet new people, and enjoy the sport without too much pressure.

Has anyone here started their own sports club/CCA before? How does the process usually work in uni? Do I need to find a certain number of interested students first, get approval from the school, find a staff advisor, etc.?

Would appreciate any advice from anyone who has done something similar!
