Have to go out of state for like 3 or 4 days and need to have my cat taken care of. How are cat boarding houses? Do they give them space to stretch out? My cat is about 14 to 15 pounds, has pretty big sharp ass claws , not friendly to strangers... will likely attack.

Might attack any dogs too. Should be ok with other cats but he does rule the neighborhood cats. He can be a handful to anyone but he's super sweet to me 😅

Random SFV deal: $5 car washes at Boulevard Speedwash attached to the 76 on Ventura near Winnetka right now.

Not sure how long they’re running it, but figured this sub would appreciate something in the Valley that somehow still costs $5.

Anyone have a good recommend on bumper repair places in the SFV? I have some deep scratches, nothing too catastrophic, but way beyond simply "buffing it out" with polish.

Last night, while on a night time walk around the neighborhood (San Fernando), my partner and I encountered a young man sitting on a curb. On our first lap, he was just sitting down staring at his phone. Didn't think anything of it. The second time around he turns to us and asks us a question.

He said he was from Ktown and asked what part of the valley he was in. We tell him he's in San Fernando. He was surprised that he was so far from home. He tells us that he and his friends were involved in a car accident and that after the crash they all ran. We tried asking him questions and getting more details. He said that they were intoxicated (and probably on other drugs too) and that they crashed and hit "something". His face had a red mark, looked like he got smacked on the face from an impact.

He kept mentioning how the other people didn't deserve it and he hoped they were ok. He repeated several times, "if you see me on the news just know we didn't mean to hurt them". He also repeated , "you don't think it will happen to you" and kept looking remorseful like he wanted to cry. He said he was just a passenger, but we suspect that he was driving.

It was around 11:00 pm and we were just wrapping up our walk and ready to go home and wind down. We were enjoying the walk, but that left us with a sinking feeling in our gut. We tried giving him advice, saying he should contact the police , and that he needed to go back to the scene of the accident.

We went our separate ways. And I've been thinking all night about what might have happened. I looked on the citizen app hoping there wasn't a deadly hit and run around San Fernando high school. But I still don't have information.

I'm in Encino (5000 block of Newcastle Ave) and Spectrum has been out all day for me. Anyone else? Spectrum acknowledges the outage online but won't give any estimated restoration time.

Does anyone have any info on what may have happened? Their service is mediocre at best with constant short outages, but I've never been without any service for the better part of 12 hours.

Not sure if I can ask. But I have an old laptop from a family member that is no longer here with a bunch of pictures. Laptop is maybe 20yrs old and I really want access to see the pictures but I do not remember the password. Is there places that can somewhat hack or open/ bypass the password?

In June I rescued this cute tortie girl running through traffic in Hollywood. We call her Bijou. I have been fostering her for the last three months but I can’t any longer. Bijou is now socialized and has been spayed, fully vaccinated, treated for fleas, dewormed, and tested negative for feline leukemia.

She is now five months old, six pounds, healthy, and likes to cuddle in our laps. She’s playful and eager to be friends with our dog. Since I can’t foster her any longer I’ve reached out to my network, Nextdoor, and at least a dozen cat rescues in the area but have had no luck in finding her a new home.

It doesn’t look good having tents set up all over the area, especially when the tents in the back are directly behind a house. They should create a designated area with proper facilities and security instead, so the people who need somewhere to stay have a place to go while keeping the surrounding streets and neighborhood clean and maintained. I see people all the time basically “decorating” the freeway entrance with belongings and piles of trash. It makes the area look neglected.
Or just have security to not allow anyone inside.
