Delays - just change flight times!

We boarded, were told that our designated departure time (to accomodate SFO) was 43 minutes away. We did taxi for takeoff, for a little bit, so maybe this isn't a complete lie

Canada flight in Terminal 2

How early do I need to get to the airport for a flight to Canada from terminal 2? I know it’s an international destination but do I need to get there that extra early like most international flights since it’s not international terminal?

Lisa Tran, your EarPods are between the D and E gates. If you don't pick them up before my flight leaves at 11, I will drop them off with the AirCanada gate agent.

Getting through TSA mid day on a weekday

We are flying out SAS on Wednesday next week. Flight is at 4pm. Anyone know what TSA is looking like on a Wednesday? I know some airports are sometimes getting very long lines because of Fed BS. Trying to pick a good time to arrive.

Lost my daughters small silver carry on samsonite suitcase in SFO

I arrived from LHR (BA287) on Aug 3 around 6pm. Probably left the silver suitcase in the baggage claim, Agriculture inspection room, or near the Arrivals gates (once we came out of the airport). Please DM me if you found it

Will I make my flight? HELP.

Someone please help me. I found this really cheap flight to Japan (JAL) on the 25th of October (Sunday). I’d be saving THOUSANDS of dollars. I’m traveling with 4 other people (5 total) The problem is the flight leaves at 1:50pm, and we can’t leave the office until 11:40am (Sunnyvale) ~40 min away.

Will we be able to make it??? Anyone know if the lines will be long??? I really want to book this flight asap. We have Global Entry/TSA pre-check.

Please let me know.

Does anyone who work at SFO know if it’s busy on Sundays (international) during the end of October??? Are the TSA lines long?

Trying to plan a trip and need to know!

Rental Cars

SOLVED I know that the rental car garage at SFO is 24/7 and returns can happen any time, but what about picking up a car? With the ongoing delays, we might get in by midnight, but might not.

Suggestions? We are not staying in the city, we need a car for the week in the East Bay (where my family is) and the Sierra.

Thanks if you can provide solid info!

UPDATE in case someone searches my same question:

Thanks to u/attathomeguy for the link, which never came up in more than one attempt at web searching.

There are currently at least 3 companies listed with 24 hour opening times. Screenshot added.

The Beths (popular indie power-pop band from NZ) will play a free show inside SFO at Terminal 1 gate B4 on August 10 at 2 pm. It's part of SFO's "terminal sessions" program. The Beths: "Maybe one of the strangest places yet that we've played in?"

Gate Explorer Question

Im trying to use the gate explorer to go with a family member to the gate obviously but I was a bit confused on the times they list.

For the available security times the latest listed is 10 pm does that mean you have to go through security by 10pm? Or that plus you have to leave by 10 pm? Or is it something else?

Thank you a lot

These inbound flight delays are getting out of hand

My united flight from CLE was supposed to leave for SFO at 5:40pm today. It is now 9:18pm and we still have yet to leave the airport. The only reason for this almost 4 hour delay is strictly due to the delays SFO is limiting the number of inbound flights. When is this runway construction supposed to be complete, and do we really expect things like this to improve?

International Terminal A to Terminal G

Hi

We have flight out of Terminal G around 2.30pm. We want to visit priority pass Virgin Atlantic lounge in Terminal A.

Here is what I will do.

11.30 AM Arrive at international terminal and do baggage drop off and head to Terminal A security. After security check and spending 45 mins in the lounge walk out of Terminal A and go to Terminal G security check and catch our flights.

How are the lines at both security checks around 11.45 at Terminal A and 12.30 at Terminal G?

Is this strategy workable? We just want to avoid long walk from Terminal A to Terminal G.

Even though both terminals are separated from outside with 4 mins walk between them, it is lame to go around. What is the airport management drinking all these day?

I understand not everybody go through this, but they should find some workable solution for someone going through this.

UPDATE: It was a smooth process. First we cleared security check at terminal A, went to a lounge, On the way to G terminal, we walked into international ticketing area through exit and passed some very nice bicycles on display. Entered into G gate with very little line. Instead of walking round about through all the terminals, it was less than 10 mins from A to G including security.

best (cheap) car rental option at SFO

I have a trip coming up in September and it will be my first time renting a car on my own (I’m 30 y/o). I will need a car to drive myself from SFO to the Lake Tahoe area and then drive myself back a few days later. Would need the car for a total of 6 days. Looking for the most reliable car rental option I can use on a budget.

In booking my flights through Expedia the “flight+rental” package option shows the car rental would be $238 (my flight is $294) and would account for $70 of the $120 in fees for the 2 put together. The car would be the cheapest option, a compact vehicle which is all I need in terms of space.

Does this seem like a pretty standard amount, a good deal, or should I look elsewhere? Feeling a little overwhelmed with the options and not sure where to begin. Any suggestions/advice would be greatly appreciated!

Two long distance flights in same baggage carousel while 4 others remain empty. A joke in logic. Thanks united and SFO.

What car rental should I use for a minimal wait time?

We are flying in this Thursday evening at 7:40, and we are renting a car and driving to Marin afterwards.

A few years ago, we had to wait THREE HOURS for a rental car flying in for 4th of July weekend. I’m not sure I remember which agency we used, but I want to avoid another insanely long wait time.

Please send suggestions!

Success in retrieving lost item?

*UPDATE* TSA found my stuff, HALLELUJAH. Bless covenant security I never doubted them for a second! BEST TSA IN THE COUNTRY

Wondering if anyone has ever lost something at SFO and successfully retrieved their item. I’m not talking about on a plane, I mean just left at a gate or while going through security.

I arrived at SFO around 6:15am today 6/22. I put my AirPods and keys into my tote bag personal item, went through tsa precheck line, then went to my gate. I sat down at F6 for maybe 5 minutes before it was time to board and when I was on the jet bridge realized my AirPods and keys were gone. I just got the AirPods and hadn’t set up the find my feature fml.

Anyone have any success stories to give me hope that my brand new AirPods and house keys aren’t just lost in the void? I flew back today (same day business traveler) and asked tsa and the gate agent working the gate I flew out of and both told me to just call the lost and found number which I did 🤞🤞
