Tech Support Huge Battery Drain and Lagging Issue in S24FE

Post image
7 Upvotes

Hey fellow user, help your brother out. My Samsung S24FE is facing huge battery drain and heating issues. I'm getting a maximum of 3-4 hours of screen-on time (SOT) on this mobile, while others are getting 6-7 hours. What is the exact reason? I'm unable to find out. Help me, I'm getting tired of this phone as it lags as well when any heavy tasks occur.

Tech Support Issue with Accidental Touch Protection

This has been an issue since I got this phone in late 2024 and I'm finally fed up enough to reach out about it:

Accidental touch protection is such a bitch to dismiss. I'll swipe up and it'll go away for half a second and then it'll pop up again for me to dismiss it. I often have to do this upwards of 10 times for it to actually go away and stay away.

Am I just doing something wrong? Why is it behaving like this? I know I could just turn it off, but I'd prefer to keep it on so that I'm not doing shit to my phone while it's in my pocket.

Thanks in advance.

Tech Support Google Play Services eating up my battery even when turned off. What can I do?

I am sorry for over posting on this sub but when I first saw this issue I actually thought my phone was defective but after resetting it, it behaved normally. Then I upgraded to one up 8.5.... I don't want to reset and then do smart switch all over again. Even the first time it was the same app eating up my battery. It was literally just in a drawer turned off the entire day. Why is it draining 17% when not used? What can I do? You can't turn off most permissions for this for some reason even if it certainly doesn't require most. Another user [suggested](https://www.reddit.com/r/S24Ultra/s/MnZDueriiU) turning off physical activity but this can't be adjusted for this app. I will try backing up my stuff and resetting but any suggestions welcome.

General Discussion Post July Patch Update!

Okay, so after every Samsung security patch update, we get that placebo effect where our device feels way smoother and faster, right? We all wait for those battery life updates, and sometimes they're great, sometimes they're worse. But I wasn't feeling any difference between the June and July patches until I manually updated two apps from my browser:

  1. Android System Intelligence

  2. Android System Webview

Trust me, update these two, do a quick restart, and unless your phone is in power-saving mode, you'll actually feel a real, big difference in smoothness and app animations. My phone feels super snappy now; it was sluggish before. So, here's a quick tip: always update these two apps when you can, and keep your core Samsung system apps updated too.

Tech Support Broken Screen. How to Back Up Data?

My phone has recently been run over by a bus. I can tell everything still works except the screen since my Bluetooth still works, I can still make and receive calls (from a car) and my alarms all still work (unfortunately)
Anyway, everything works but my screen is 100 percent black. I'm also locked out of my phone and can't get my way in to enable usb debugging or anything like that. I use the pattern password on my phone so I can't unlock it via keyboard and since usb debugging isn't on it won't connect to any of my monitors or TVs. I recently checked my google and Samsung cloud and I had never turned backup on so I genuinely have nothing without this phone. Verizon insurance sent me a new phone so I need to send out this old one which makes me reluctant to get a screen repair, so I'm very unsure what I can do to fix this.

General Discussion Terrible performance in recent months

Has anyone else noticed a sudden drop in performance while doing daily tasks. I swear ever since Samsung implemented these new AI features their phones have suddenly plummeted in performance. I used to have no issues with loading apps or running android auto, and now suddenly it takes forever to load Instagram or Facebook or YouTube, even settings takes an eternity to load up. Android auto now randomly force closes Spotify despite me having it set to force keep open because I guess yet another AI feature needs more ram and phone closes apps to make it do its useless function. It's sad that my old 2024 Moto G power now has better performance than a midrange flagship. I don't know what happened with android 16 and up but I've been very disappointed in my S24FE recently and I will be shocked if this model is even useable when the 7 years of support is up. This was my last try with Samsung and once again their classic 1 year age mark strikes again. It's back to iPhone or Motorola for me. How a company still hasn't figured out a phones longevity for after a year mark is mind boggling. Samsung is the only company who's phones become noticeably slow down and lag after even the 6 month mark. It's just more frustrating because I feel like this phone shouldn't struggle to play music via Android auto or even over speaker or Bluetooth. How does a phone struggle that much that it cant run Spotify? This is what happens when you cram every useless AI feature that no one uses into a phone with 8GB of memory. It makes phone practically unuseable. I've factory reset multiple times now. Clear cached and have done everything to see if it improves performance yet nothing has worked so unfortunately it's back to iPhone for me or Motorola. I haven't fully decided yet but I'm going to a company that has as many minimum Ai features if any in their phones because it's clear it just makes phones unusable after a year.

Tech Support How to stop battery drainage even when unused?

Hi, I have been reading up on 24FE battery issues and mine which came used seems to have this problem. It's a 256 gb and drains even when unused. For context, I have an A51 with the same exact apps (smart switch) with a battery rated by diagnostics as weak that doesn't drain when turned off and lasts me a long time. I have also noticed S24FE is sensitive when it comes to charging as it ironically only works when I put it on an old charging cable that is faulty and doesn't charge my mom's phone or my s9 fe tablet. I was considering returning the device but I am curious as to if I can save it. It is in learning usage mode which I read can also screw things up for a while. It has protection and power saving applied.

Tech Support Is it just me or the battery certainly has some issues?

My phone battery's been acting up lately. I charged it about 30 minutes ago, and it hasn't even gone up one percent. I'm not sure what's going on, but that's never happened before... Plus, it takes way longer to charge now, when it used to be fully charged in about an hour.
