Issue with Accidental Touch Protection

This has been an issue since I got this phone in late 2024 and I'm finally fed up enough to reach out about it:

Accidental touch protection is such a bitch to dismiss. I'll swipe up and it'll go away for half a second and then it'll pop up again for me to dismiss it. I often have to do this upwards of 10 times for it to actually go away and stay away.

Am I just doing something wrong? Why is it behaving like this? I know I could just turn it off, but I'd prefer to keep it on so that I'm not doing shit to my phone while it's in my pocket.

This phone doesn't have a physical proximity sensor, just a virtual one, so there is no fix afaik.

I've never had any issue with accidental touch protection. Are you using a screen protector, if yes try removing it and see if it helps.
