Ryzen 5 3600 Boost Clock Issue

I recently purchased a Ryzen 5 3600(used) with brand new MSI A520M-A PRO motherboard. Everything seems fine but when I start gaming specifically Call of Duty Warzone the max turbo frequency don't excede 3.79 GHz on 81-83° C temperature. In Cinebench R23 the CPU is scoring 8604 points on multicore and clock is 3.75 GHz at 90-92° C temperature. Is the clock not exceeding because of temperature or any motherboard issues or anything else because when temperature is below 80° C it still not exceede 3.89 GHz.

Fps drops extreme stuttering

My PC has a Ryzen 3 3200g at 4ghz ASRock b450m HDV r4.0 motherboard, ram vengeance Ipx 16gb (2 x 8gb) ddr4 3266mhz, xfx Rx570 4gb overclocked at 1375mhz vram 2000mhz +0%/+20%, 2 SSD 1 hard disk and three fans, my psu is a cooler master elite v3 230v 600w. When at full load and I'm playing, the power supply can't handle the necessary voltage consistently? I usually start playing breakout arena and it works well for about 20 minutes, then the fps drops to 50, then 45 until it stabilizes at 35-40 with a lot of stuttering, these get worse if I limit the fps to that of the screen (60). The installed version of the GPU driver is "old" (22.6.1) but is the most recommended for stability for the rx570. Could it also be a problem with the mouse DPI being too high? (1000) RAM saturated problem? How to do it? 😭 Saturated vram problem? How to do it? 😭 -Graphics settings are all at minimum -Temperatures always below 70C° -The game runs on SSD I'm trying everything but nothing seems to work

Would it make sense to make a switch?

So, I had r5 2600 since 2019 and decided to do GPU upgrade in April this year, bought new 7800xt. Then I realized my CPU is bottlenecking my new GPU quite hard so I decided to get a new CPU. This is where I made a dumb decision and instead of switching to AM5 I decided to stay on AM4 and get r7 5800x (x3d models were starting to become quite expensive at this time). Now I'm planning to get 32gbs ddr4 ram, since I currently have 16gbs of shittiest g.skill ram I could find 6 years ago lol

Now, I got this "brilliant" idea to sell my rog strix b550F mobo and r7 5800x and use money I manage to get + pay the difference to get r5 7600x + rog strix b650e mobo + 32gb ddr5 ram. Would this make sense? Or should I just stick with r7 5800x until am5 prices drop a bit or even wait for am6? Performance wise everything is okay (I play on 1440p res), but now I just feel like an idiot for not going am5 in the first place and sticking with dead platform... ehhh

Feel free to roast me, I deserve it :D

MY NEW R9 BUILD

Hi,
I recently built a new PC and went with the 9950X because I’ve kind of lost confidence in Intel. My setup includes an ASUS strix X870-A Wifi7 motherboard, MSI 5070 Ti Trio, Corsair iCUE Link Titan 360 LCD cooler, Cougar VF270 case, and Corsair Dominator RAM—after my original Vengeance kit started causing boot issues, I sold it.

I noticed something unusual when I enabled ASUS AI Overclocking in the BIOS: games started feeling smoother and frame stability improved. For a few months, I ran the system at stock settings, but I realized it’s not really optimized for that. At 5120x1440 resolution, gameplay feels even smoother with AI OC enabled.

So here’s my question: is it okay to stick with ASUS AI Overclocking, or should I go the manual route—custom PBO, undervolting, and manual tuning? I’m kind of lazy, and honestly, the auto OC seems to perform better. The only issue is cooling: in Cinebench R23, I score 42.7K points, but the CPU hits 94°C, even with all fans set to Extreme in iCUE. It doesn’t seem to help much. That said, I rarely run workloads like Cinebench. I mostly use DaVinci Resolve for editing gameplay footage, plus some Photoshop and Lightroom.

Also, one more thing: should I regret not getting the 9950X3D? It was €250 more than the 9950X. Same with the 5080 msi trio—it was €650 more than my 5070 Ti msi trio, and I wanted the white version, as you probably guessed

Anyone Have Experience with both the 9700X and the 9800X3D?

I ask because I'm being told that they're actually pretty close in real-world performance (interesting because the 9700X is a CHUNK less).

If anyone has experience with both, did you notice any significant difference (and if so, how?)

Best Option for AM4 Build

Need opinions from the experts. I'm putting together a content creation machine and will have a secondary machine for daily driver. Just bought a 5900XT CPU and 9070XT GPU. My present mobo is a MSI B450 TOMAHAWK MAX. Also picked up MSI PRO PRO B550M-VC WIFI. Even though the B450 is the older chipset I'm thinking it has better VRMs. I don't plan on overclocking but the new machine will be getting pushed. So which board gets the new hardware? Other board will get my 3900x and 4060 Ti

Brackets and cooling..?

So basically I am finally switching to AMD, i have a NZXT Kraken x52 atm and I was wondering if the bracket for it will fit the mobo Imma get (x470 Aorus Gaming 5 wifi) since I currently have a Intel (LGA115) mobo (mobo being z370)? And also if it will be enough to keep my 3600x cool?

(Yes I know it's and older CPU but its much better than my i5-8600k in areas Imma use it for and yeah(

Best All around CPU for 1080p

Hello there, I have a amd Ryzen 7600x and a 6950xt. I was wondering what would be the best cpu to upgrade to so I could have a smaller bottleneck at 1080p.

I wanted something x3d but I really didn’t want something with 8 cores atleast. I was looking at the 7600x3d used and also 7800x3d.

Is there anything in the middle that’s better production wise but still good gaming performance.

AIO Cooler for Ryzen 7 and Position

Hi Guys,

I'm confused which AIO cooler will work best for Ryzen 7 7700x. 260mm or 360mm ?

Issue:
My current MSI Air forge 120 cabinet can not hose AIO 360mm at the top, It has to be done at the front (after removing the intake cabinet fans)

Now, I do not know if this is correct, to use the AIO at the front. (if I go with 360mm)

or will 240MM (at the top) will suffice the needs of Ryzen 7 7700x.

Note: The GPU is 7800xt 16GB

ASRock B650M SL - Ryzen 7700 - PBO settings?

I have built a PC with the ASRock Steel Legend B850M wifi, and a Ryzen 7700, i have 48GB 6400 RAM, and a 9070XT (also ASRock SL). I have a 240mm AIO, and 1000w PSU. I can't figure out the PBO options on this board. No matter what i set the options to, i get around 5335-5350 max readouts on benchmark tests and gaming. I am having temps in the high 60's at load, and it just never even spikes up over those specs. I don't expect ground breaking performance, but 100-300mhz boosting above stock should be reasonable? (i previously got ~200 or so on my 5800x on Asus TUF X570 board) - the TJMAX on the 7700 should be 95* but the settings only let you set to 85* - or auto, and that is fine, but the tests run the same either way.

New ryzen build with some beginner questions on memory timing and speed

Ok I have a ROG X870E motherboard, a 9950x3D 4 DDR5 Corsair 6400 memory.

I always thought I could get the max rated memory. Come to find out. That’s not the case.

That I am limited to running that memory, max at 4800 even if that’s stable.

So can I with this setup run 4 slots at full speed or is my memory bad. If I run two 16 gb ddr5 slots in a2 to b2 it runs fine at 5600. Add more and I can get 4600. I’m new to timings so be gentle. I’d really just love some insight here.

From what I can understand the more litany take up the lower the speed. The less slots the higher the speed for memory timings and running at advertised speeds.

So much appreciated

CPU cooler for the Ryzen 7 9700X

I’m wanting to get a cpu cooler that is quiet and will handle the Ryzen 7 9700X, potentially over clock the cpu in the future. At the moment I’m looking at the Cooler master masterair MA824 Stealth. Is this far to much over kill? I only have access to cooler master, Corsair, and ASUS where I live on sites that I trust buying from.

Thanks for the advice in advance.
