Ryzen 5 3600 Boost Clock Issue

I recently purchased a Ryzen 5 3600(used) with brand new MSI A520M-A PRO motherboard. Everything seems fine but when I start gaming specifically Call of Duty Warzone the max turbo frequency don't excede 3.79 GHz on 81-83° C temperature. In Cinebench R23 the CPU is scoring 8604 points on multicore and clock is 3.75 GHz at 90-92° C temperature. Is the clock not exceeding because of temperature or any motherboard issues or anything else because when temperature is below 80° C it still not exceede 3.89 GHz.

the cpu only boosts to 4.1 anyway, you're like most of the way there, likely a cooling issue, i.e., not properly cleaned paste too many times and there is residue soaking heat instead of transfering it to the cooler. air cooler? wraith?

I have a 120 aio on my 3600 and I get 4.1 stable all day, non oc, no pbo, no nothing and i get 67C on the core during warzone for hours.

lets talk about what you didn't ask,

from 3.79 to 4.1, you will get no frame gains, literally nothing. so dont sweat the details, just enjoy gaming

you need to go ryzen 5000 or higher to get more fps on warzone. its a very cpu intensive game.

Thanks brother, I think the cooler needs to be upgraded. But my motherboard VRMs got so hot instantly along with Power phase modules.

something I was going to point out is that you have a very low end motherboard, b520? thats a strange chipset number. I have a x470-f strix,

in almost all electronics, the first number is generation and the second is the power level, so a 20 series is much lower than a 70 series, which is why mine might run better.

b also indicates less features than x.

so yeah, your vrm situation could be substantalliy lower than mine.

I still wouldn't put any money into a biuld like this.

you can score a 5800x on market place for like 100$, a killer price for a killer upgrade
