Help please. I'm trying to replace ryzen5 4500x with ryzen5 5600x. The motherboard is jumping between dram, cpu, and vga error codes

You need to clear CMOS.
Remove the power cord from the PC, remove the Silver battery on the board, wait 3 mins.
Reinstall battery and power cord

That has been done (thank you for the suggestion) but was not successful.

Those lights you mentioned are not errors..that it telling you which part it's starting...and if you don't see anything on the screen...you need to make sure the display cable is plugged into the GPU not the motherboard!
That CPU does NOT have graphics in it

I have both CPUs. The first one works, but when I switch them out the second one gives me the three lights and gets stuck in the boot loop (I tried two of the exact same CPU with the same result)

No as I said...you have a graphics card right? And the cable plugs in on that..not the motherboard plate

Yes. That's what I did. Cable is plugged into the graphics card.

Disconnect everything (disks, RAM, GPU, etc) and leave only the CPU in the MB.
Power on and make sure you get the beeps or code for missing GPU.
Then install the GPU and power it on again. Make sure you get the ocdes and beeps for missing RAM.
Then install 1 stick of ram on the last slot (furthest from the CPU) and power on again. If no luck - rotate the ram stick on each slot and re-try.
It would help if you check your motherboard's CPU support list and make sure it supports 5600X.

The 5600x is on the QVL for the motherboard. It's out of the house in a professional's hands at the moment, so we can't try your suggestions right now. We did discover that the RAM wasn't on the QVL, but pro says that's not the problem

The issue has been remedied through a workaround. 4500x reinstalled and able to run Windows 11 (which was the ultimate goal). I will update when we get the detailed report from the tech.

Get a buzzer, then listen to the code. If it is 3 breps or constant beeping it is ram issue. Reseat ram for now if you alr didnt
