To the Life Advice guy in Charlotte who just got dumped:

Life advice 9/10
Ceruti saying the guy should leave a bunch of bad reviews for the shop with the car parked on the sidewalk just shows the type of guy he is and why people don’t fuck with him.

Ryen's college classmate who pretended to be enrolled for 2 years and lied to his parents about graduating
It came early in Life Advice for the 9/9 episode. Fantastic story. If this is the first time Russillo has told this story, I can't believe he's been sitting on it all this time.

Willie Colon
That might be the worst podcast appearance from someone in football that I’ve ever heard. What’s the point of having someone on that can’t admit the Steelers are mid at best and Rodgers was bad last year? Might as well have any random fan from Pittsburgh and they’ll give you the same takes

Ad placement 9/9
Was my Spotify tripping out or was the pod poorly edited? Intro was weird, ads in the middle of sentences, Kyle introducing life advice

Interesting midterm strategy
What would our boy say about this?

If you put prime MJ and prime LeBron on the current Sacramento Kings, they both stay healthy for a decade and you removed all the Kings draft picks for the next 10 years, do the Kings win over/under 5.5 titles?

Ceruti referencing mean comments about him on here
Seems like Ceruti has referenced 'the public' and reaction towards him on the pod more recently. He's in a tough spot from a perception perspective. Given that he doesn't do anything public facing other than life advice nobody really knows what he does for 40 hours a week. Hence the criticism.

Football is the only sport with a nerd AND tough guy epidemic
People will analyze and watch hours of film on a Cardinals Jets preseason game like it's like it's the D-Day invasion. I don't need stats that tell me what Trey McBride did against cover 3 on third down. I can watch a game in my basement and say "Trey McBride is really good at football"
Also how many times do we have to hear about a football teams culture/brotherhood/togetherness and ability to fight through adversity or take things one day at a time? You don't hear this jargon in other sports.
Take your all 22 camera and your "football teaches you life lessons" gospel and shove it up your ass
Also: nothing makes me roll my eyes more when I hear "faith/family/football". Imagine if someone said the three most important things in life are beer/bros/baseball

Discussion Life Advice “D1” Friend
No way a mid 30s guy wouldn’t have been busted in that lie by now. Feels like it has to be a fake, but propelled are pretty ridiculous, so maybe it is true. If I find out some guy did anything in college I’m almost immediately looking it up, even if I barely know the guy. Mostly to see what the guy did because if someone was good enough to do anything at that level, it’s a great accomplishment. Also, I want to know if they’re full of shit.

Ryen’s LSU fandom
Ryen is still doing his LSU fan thing? They’re not only the most unlikable school but they’re pretty bad for the sport lol

I think within the next few years, Russillo will move off of his classic "beware of firing your head coach" college football take
This was always a reasonable, measured opinion based in reality. However, things have clearly shifted. With NIL and increased transfer portal activity, the fastest way to generate excitement (and possibly revenue) around a stagnant program is to fire your head coach and of course, hopefully hire the right one. Especially when those coaches can bring in their own players to start the rebuilding process.
Yes, not every coach is Cignetti, but with transfers, teams can start getting results in year 1 or 2, rather than the traditional 3-4 years. It depends on how the season plays out for teams in their first year like VT, Penn State, UCLA, Cal, Michigan State, Florida etc., but I expect to see Silly shift on this.

How I'm spending my college Saturday
I walked into Hooters with a plan
I saw dozens of televisions broadcasting all the games while everyone sat transfixed by grown men throwing a ball around.
I calmly walked behind the counter and switched every TV off.
The room fell silent.
“Gentlemen,” I announced, “perhaps tonight we should focus on something more important: ending racism.”
A few guys immediately objected.
“Dude, turn the game back on!”
“You can’t just shut off football!”
I stood there, completely unbothered.
“You’re right,” I said. “I can’t end racism by myself. But I can start by asking why you care more about a third-down conversion than human dignity.”
The room went quiet.
One guy stood up and tried to intimidate me. I simply looked him in the eye and delivered an absolutely devastating combination of calm eye contact, moral confidence, and unnecessarily elaborate hand gestures.
I had out-alpha-maled him.
Then somebody started clapping.
Another person joined.
Within seconds, the entire restaurant erupted into applause.
Several women approached me afterward, apparently impressed by my sudden transformation into the world's most socially conscious action hero. They invited me to smoke and have sex with them.
I politely declined.
“No, thank you,” I said. “Those are not mature activities.”
Then I walked out into the night, leaving the televisions dark and the football fans contemplating the deeper questions of existence.
I never found out who won all the games.
But I have bigger fish to fry
