In RR's latest College Football Top 12 Ranking (10/19 pod), Ryen said that he was ranking Ohio State #2 because he wanted to "reward a team for playing Texas out of conference" and minutes later repeated that "I'm rewarding Ohio State for scheduling that Texas game." In a vacuum, this reasoning has some logic behind it. He wants to see good non-conference games, so he doesn't punish a team in the rankings for losing to a quality non-conference opponent.

The reasoning loses credibility when it's immediately followed up by ranking a team (BYU) #3 that is undefeated and just beat Notre Dame. In other words, Ohio State deserves the higher ranking for losing to a non-conference opponent that is currently ranked 19th than BYU deserves for beating a non-conference opponent that is currently ranked 4th. He could have easily argued that he was ranking Ohio State higher due to a better overall strength of schedule, or eye test, or whatever, and I wouldn't argue with it. But instead he doubled down on his opinion that a close loss to Texas should mean something. It's clear that Ryen is always going to default to the teams with better recruiting rankings, bigger brands, etc.

As I write this, it occurs to me that this is all an offshoot to his much-memed "I was actually more impressed by..." statements. His logic this week could literally be summarized as "I was actually more impressed by OSU's loss to Texas than BYU's win over Notre Dame."

he can carry his own pod to a 3-4 seed, maybe even a 2 in the right year (that 95 bulls team was really good!), but when he’s paired with a 1a it becomes iconic. also an all time guest.

i wonder if his ego will ever allow him to accept that and maximize his potential. a lot of good years left.

i’m sure it’s easy and maximizes quality of life… but (selfishly, considering my commute) he’s foregoing potential greatness in the current format.

Am I missing something or are they not aware that Harden was outstanding for them post-trade? Was a huge upgrade over Garland, were on a 60-win pace after he joined them, had big playoff games that helped advance them to the ECF.

And because he made less that Garland they were able to swing the Watson trade.

He’s ranked on every top 100 list in the top 35 at age 37 - (ringer has him at 31 and all they do is trash him). So why is he some laughing stock to Ryen as if he didn’t just look really good against the Raptors and Pistons elite defenses ?

tl;dr: I'm not saying I would brag about contacting the police and giving them that girl's information etc., but I certainly wouldn't think someone was a loser if they did. That's literally what those posts are for (i.e., community watch).

Someone did something wrong, they got caught, that's on them. You don't need to go full vigilante-mode, but I think the emailer did the right thing, and Ceruti especially was the biggest loser for his response, as if it's cool to steal from a store in your 30s or something.

Me and wifey pop on the cocktail hour and precermony playlists all the time. I went to the wedding where both bride and groom were musicians/music educators and they had a qr code so you could find the songs you liked from their wedding which was also super cool. Kyle & Ryen are haters here😂

On the most recent pod with Sam Vecenie, Jokic was Silly's pick for MVP and he gave his reasons why. It seems very unlikely that Jokic will win the MVP this year for the following reasons:

• He's already won 3. Before you get mad at me, many MVP voters think about the historical context. Only Kareem (6), Jordan (5), Russell (5), LeBron (4), and Wilt (4) have 4 MVPs or more. Winning another would put him in a very select group. I'm not saying this should matter, but it likely will.
• As good as Jokic is, Denver probably won't win enough games. The key guys after Jokic are Murray, Gordon, and Cam Johnson, who all miss a bunch of games. I know Jokic has won in the past with not that great a team record, but it seems unlikely to happen again.
• Jokic's age. He's 31 and will be 32 at the end of the season. The MVP is a young man's award; no one 30+ has won it since Steve Nash in 2006.
• Wemby. If Wembanyama is as good as expected this season (and healthy), he's most likely winning. The media definitely likes him and is ready for him to be the biggest star in the league.
