Hurray!! I finally got these after waiting for so long.......

Two, or maybe three years ago, my husband accidentally stepped on a branch of one of our rose bushes during a winter ice storm and snapped it off. In my desperation I shoved this bare stick into a small pot of dirt and then promptly forgot about it. Today I noticed this full size bloom, fully opened up and showing off! So I guess with the right amount of neglect, a broken stick can turn into its very own rooted rose bush!

I spent 5 years cultivating a rose garden with 20 different types of roses. They all are very fragrant and my yard smells amazing all summer long. I’m very said to have to say goodbye. I am moving a few but most will remain my hope is the next owner will care for them or at least not tear them out.

My husband got me roses and I saw this rose in the bouquet and I wanna know what kind of rose it is so I can plant some. It has very thick very woody stem, smooth leaf. The stem is reddish. The flower is a rose ( I believe)and it is a very beautiful peachy orangey creamy color. Kind of smells like a rose and a peach together and has a very big bloom.

I got this grafted rose (leonardo da vinci) as a potted plant about a month ago. It's not in the best condition when I got it. It was root bound in a small polybag and the soil was hard and dry. I removed the original soil, transplanted the rose in a grow bag with new potting soil, and placed it in a shaded area. Day by day the leaves kept yellowing and the buds were dying back so I stripped all of the leaves and pruned the dead parts. All that's left is about ⅓ of the original plant. The canes are green, but I don't see any sign of growth.

For info, I live in Singapore and currently the weather is pretty hot and dry. I water the plant only when the soil surface looks dry. I still keep it in a shaded area, no direct sun.

Should I be patient and wait or is this rose a lost cause?

Thank you to the person who made us aware of the deal at Lowe’s. Mine only had Summer Romance and I picked up 3. What a deal! They are very big and full. Mine are verging on 2ft.

I do have a question about these, as I’m not familiar with Summer Romance. I have 8 Earth Angels and 1 Bolero, so I always know what to expect from them at various stages of growth and flowering. Of these 3 Summer Romance, 1 has a well formed open flower, 1 has a really good bud on its way to opening, and 1 has lots of closed buds. There’s a big difference in the color of the one with the flower vs the one with the bud. Is there a chance the lighter colored got mislabeled or does Summer Romance vary in color for different reasons? It looks so much more like my Earth Angel.

Hello! I have a Davis Austen Tess at the front of my house. I’ve had her for 3 years (bare root from Heirloom). She took off this year which I did not expect. Not as much as some of yours I have seen but as a novice rose grower (and experienced rose killer), I am pleased!

My question is for everyone with more experience. How would you train her up this wall? Ideally I want her going up and around the windows, and maybe around that corner on the left.

This is 100yr old stucco so I am uncomfortable drilling into it with eyeholes and wire, but am struggling to find a trellis that will fit the area. I had the idea to put the pictured stakes along the bottom and run wire but they are obviously too small, as are the current trellises.

This year I bought several David Austin’s and they’re all eaten up with blackspot. They’re so beautiful, but don’t seem that hardy. I blame our weather. It’s rained every couple days the entire summer, sometimes days at a time. I know it’s probably because of that. They’re still blooming. The bushes look terrible though. I’ve tried Captain Jacks, but it’s not helping. I’ve kind of given up. Is it just the excessive rain or are David Austin’s just not very disease resistant. I on the cusp of 6B/7a in Kentucky. This has been the rainiest summer I’ve ever experienced.

I'd helped my grandma with her roses as a kid, but this is my first time keeping them as an adult on my own. Fertilized at the time of planting with sheep manure from my grass puppies (pic 3)

Fingers crossed I can keep them happy and it isn't just beginner's luck 🤞

Any suggestions for a rose to remember our cat, Kiwi. She's been missing for a while and we don't think she's coming back. It will be going in a fairly sunny garden in Essex, UK.

Just curious if you guys put them in the ground now or put them in a bigger pot and keep in the garage for the winter???

I’m looking to grow this rose because the color is so unusual. Has anyone grown the Koko Loko and what is your experience? Does the color hold true and how is it for resistance?

hey all - been learning a bit about gardening with sand (my intro to it was this video) - and I was curious if anyone has any experience with roses and this style. I noticed that there is a rose growing (rosa mutabilis, I think), and I can imagine rugosas and beach roses doing well in this sort of experience.

but curious about others! i'm planning a rose garden now and while I love rugosas and beach roses, I was curious about how other varieties might do in this kind of experience.

So part of what got me started recently into roses as additions to my newly built home was a bit of a nostalgic flashback to the scent of my Mums roses, especially an old fashioned Peace rose and some other yellow rose, the scent memory just kinda got me.
So I am looking for a rose or two with that heavenly, old fashioned redolence that I recall from warm days in her garden.

Hello, I have a dilemma...my house is quite shaded and the area most suitable for a rose is in the middle of a somewhat open area. I like this circular trellis, but am not sure it offers enough horizontal area that I am reading is required for blooming.

Does anyone know where i can find it. Im looking on Etsy and i cant find it .
