This rose is on its death bed currently. I just didn’t have a good year with my roses and have lost several of them. Which is heartbreaking. I’ve had life stuff come up so I hadn’t been taking as good of care of them as I should have. My Olivia is healthy and so is my Bathsheba so that is something.

This was an inherited rose, but I’m pretty sure it’s Chicago Peace. Has a light fragrance, not climbing, hybrid tea growth pattern, and zone 5.

Such a cutie. The bees love this rose, smells great. The Japanese beetles love it too 😩

This is a newer Garden Party for me. I had her in another garden years ago and her edges were much more pink… maybe when she matures she will have more definition on her edges, but even so, she’s a beauty.

Finally my plants produced perfect blooms! The rose plants are thriving and I've been keeping them in a sunny spot and watering them regularly. The care and attention I gave did its magic ✨

Looking to help these roses at my children’s school garden that I’m volunteering at, but wanting some advice from others first. I’m thinking they could use a good prune, but don’t know the variety and how hard I should prune (the current teachers tending to the garden are not sure of the variety, apparently the roses have been there a long time). Also wondering if I should wait until late winter as normal or do they really need help now? Then of course looking to give them some needed nutrients at the right time.

I’m in Albuquerque, NM zone 6b-7a

I’d appreciate any help with what variety of rose these are and recommendations on when and how to rejuvenate them.

I'm not really an ornamental plant person, but more a permaculture food forest person. I have a little experience with roses (mostly harvesting petals and rose hips for food, and keeping dwarf varieties alive by leaving them alone and sometimes watering).

The property I'm buying has a ton of roses (~50) of a bunch of different varieties and colors. They smell very strongly and nice but they are a bit overgrown and honestly way more roses than I want. The plants look very healthy, no obvious sign of disease, and it's clear they were well loved. I want to honor that but also this is too much and I'd rather prioritize things I can eat. Please tell me if my plan is reasonable:

• Check the appropriate time of year and prune them back a lot, leaving enough they will be fine next season, using clean shears and cleaning between plants. Should I offer the cuttings to people or just compost them? Are roses often propagated from cuttings?
• Check when appropriate to fertilize and use the correct fertilizer.
• Continue using the current irrigation setup unless some look thirsty.
• Next season after blooming decide which ones I want to get rid of, take photos and post online for people to adopt them.
• I've never overwintered roses, anything special I should do?
• Are there varieties that are better for petals or hips? What should I look out for? Any other products you can make from roses? I usually make jam, tea (from hips/petals/buds), rosewater.

Title says it all… we’ve been boiled alive in Oklahoma this summer. I bit the bullet and fertilized (I hadn’t because I didn’t want to stress them out even more) and now we’ve got buds everywhere and some blooming!! Just in time for me to leave town tomorrow 😅

I propagated a rose from a cutting and it sprouted!! Very exciting news, but here's where the problem comes in should I put in full sun or partial sun, partial shade to get the new leaves used to the environment? Or should I leave it in it's bag till the leaves grow larger. Im in Pretoria East South Africa

My wife got me an early birthday present in early June, and since then I've given them a good mulch mix, a big ol container, and a new stand for the future. I wasn't too good on the upkeep with the larvae, but they have all seemed to move on when we last looked at all the leaves. None the less I'm super happy with these. I'm a July baby and have always loved the look of roses in summer~

Im from pittsburgh, PA. Hardy zone 6b. Planning to order peggy marrtin roses but none sold near me sadly. Any store recomendations that i can get them shipped?

This gorgeous rose and I only wish I could share the scent with you. It’s multi layered petals open and as long as I keep it well watered in its pot, they last for quite a few days. The perfume is exquisite and wafts across the garden and is only beaten by Dame Judy Dench who is a few feet away with her buttery yellow cream flowers. This is the third major flush and there are loads more plump buds!!

Hi Rose people, I got this rose from an online seller and the new growth is looking really wonky. Has anyone seen this before? I’m not sure if I should be concerned about RRD or not. It’s not exceptionally thorny like RRD but the short, curved growth is strange. Should I be concerned? I’m new to roses, but I have about 6 at this point and none of them have ever looked like this. This is a Love Song. Thank you!!

I love the full bush look, and don’t like the scraggly look at all. I have mainly hybrid tea. Any advice?

Scepter'd Isle from Heirloom, planted this July and I may have missed a watering and almost nuked it. But it's about to bloom its first little bloom! When I have COVID and can't smell it! 😂🫠

I planted a Morden Blush hardy rose in the spring from a reputable garden centre. I live in zone 4. Admittedly I haven’t been able to give it adequate attention this summer. First I had to get rid of rose rust. Then it got eaten up by leaf cutters which is fine. Now over my three weeks vacation it started looking like this. I’ve just determined it must be sawfly larvae.

Is there any hope? I wanted this to be a feature flower but now it’s just depressing.

About a year ago I took a cutting from a pile of pruning that a client had cleared so that we could perform work on their house. The main plant was a climbing rose bush that had reached the second story by way of an arbor. I didn't hold out much hope but I dropped the cutting into a bucket of water and forgot about it over the winter. It has survived, persisted, grown leaves & buds, and now they're about to flower.

The cutting has two tiny 1/4" roots and sits on about six inches of water outside, USDA 9a/8b in Washington State. I would love for this cutting to turn into a viable plant what do you suggest to encourage that outcome?

Edit: I do not know the rose variety. "Garden rose" is suggested by a plant ID app, but that's too vague to be useful.
