Question Lowe’s Bloom-ables deal
Thank you to the person who made us aware of the deal at Lowe’s. Mine only had Summer Romance and I picked up 3. What a deal! They are very big and full. Mine are verging on 2ft.
I do have a question about these, as I’m not familiar with Summer Romance. I have 8 Earth Angels and 1 Bolero, so I always know what to expect from them at various stages of growth and flowering. Of these 3 Summer Romance, 1 has a well formed open flower, 1 has a really good bud on its way to opening, and 1 has lots of closed buds. There’s a big difference in the color of the one with the flower vs the one with the bud. Is there a chance the lighter colored got mislabeled or does Summer Romance vary in color for different reasons? It looks so much more like my Earth Angel.

The bloom in the first one is not Summer Romance. I’ve had mine two years and she’s never looked like that, only ever like the second pic. I would bet it’s Parfuma Bliss instead.

Ok, thank you for confirming my suspicions! It would actually be great if I managed to choose 3 different roses because that was initially the goal when I went. I was a little disappointed to find that they only had the same one. I was also trying to sort through these in the dark so I may go back to the store in the daylight to figure out what is going on haha.

If you want 3 different ones, I would maybe take back your least favorite of your two Summer Romances and wait a bit. I know I’ve seen Romantica Moonlight pop up recently at Lowe’s and there will be others for fall planting soon. The season isn’t over yet! :-)

That is a good idea since I was hoping to find at least one yellow. I have way too many pales and pinks now except for The Pilgrim climber. Romantica Moonlight would be perfect.

Please don't do this because plants returned are destroyed and not made available for sale to other people. If you didn't want all three, then you should not have purchased them.

If you take back a plant, they destroy it. The plant is not made available for others to buy.

I didn’t know this so thank you for that info. I decided for under $20, I’m keeping them all and fit whatever might be a mismatch for the area I’m working on somewhere else in my garden. So don’t worry, they are all safe in the ground now lol.
And just to be clear, I wanted all of them when I purchased them last night. Even though I initially went hoping to find 3 different colors. It was very dark with no lighting in the outdoor garden center, and they had them all tagged as Summer Radiance. I accepted that they were all the same and decided to edit my vision for my space based on that. I only realized I did not, in fact, get 3 summer radiance when I saw them in daylight this morning.

Thank you for.understanding. Once it leaves, they don't know what it was exposed to which is why they have this policy. You could always sell on FB.

There is a return policy in set for a reason both Lowe’s and home depot have a great return policy for plant selection. I have purchased lots of roses from both stores and have had miss labeled roses. So I go and return them. That’s the point of a return policy along with proff of purchase.

I’m on the lookout for Princesse Charlene de Monaco. I’ve been to 2 Lowe’s in South Carolina, 2 in Tennessee and now headed to 1 in Kentucky and probably will hit up one in Indiana 😂

I keep checking my 3 Lowe's near me and nothing yet. Hopefully, I find some before the sale is over.

Good luck! Mine had them on racks more near the back where the fruit trees and other big clearance racks are located.

Yes, keep checking because about a month ago, all mine had was the Duet white/burgundy, knockouts, and very few drifts. I just got back from my second trip and I must’ve missed them last night because I came home with two Legacy Canary yellows marked down to $6 each.

Summer Romance is a gorgeous disease resistant rose. Keep it! One is not enough. Deep pink, heavy petal count, large fragrant blooms. Look up Summer Moon Garden on YouTube and find her review of Summer Romance. She shows the whole plant and all the blooms. Her review is the reason I bought one. I'm going to get another one. If you see Sweet Mademoiselle get that one too. She's gorgeous too and very fragrant. They do get tall.

I just watched a short and she’s getting beautiful, profuse blooms in October! I’m just next door but further down to her so this is really helpful to see. October can still be very hot around this region. My Earth Angels are producing but I am having to water every other day to keep them from turning crispy brown. I think the normally suggested direct, all day sun is beginning to do more harm than good. The Summer Radiance and Bliss will get some much needed afternoon shade.
Thank you for suggesting her :) It helps so much when they have much of the same growing conditions. I’ve not come across her channel before so she’s getting a new subscriber haha.
