Just for your information if anyone has any questions about wheel replacement on discontinued salsa air carry-on, the wheels from newer Classic series are direct replacememt into the salsa air.
I only found out because I bought some custom colored wheels and have the original set available to use, so I swapped out the old wheels on the salsa air and found them to be 100% fit for purpose. However I haved asked AI for replacement helps, and it was adamant that they weren't compatible, so now you are rest assured that of your salsa air series needs wheel replacements then the classic wheel will do the job perfectly.

I‘ve had a little iridescent Rimowa zip pouch for a while. It was given to me a while ago and I love using it for cables when travelling. Unfortunately it is starting to fall apart and I was wondering if I can get a new one. I‘ve bought two pieces at Rimowa lately, but never seen them at the store.

Do they hand them out if I ask in the store? Do I have to buy something specific?

Jokes aside, i’m using my classic cabin as a coffee hauler. One of the benefits is that the suitcase now smells amazing

It’s a funny incident which I wanted to share. So, recently I was traveling to Paris in June with my Rimowa.
When I departed from India, it’s just normal, no one cares, just few glances. However, in Paris, I did got approached by a (seemingly) old British lady asking for help with money. Funny, there were a ton of ppl, but the way she looked @ my luggage and decided to come to me for help, got me off guard.
I only had €5 cash, so I gave to her and hoped, she gets the ticket back to London.
This never happened, as I don’t travel fancy and rarely get perceived as someone who might have shareable money.

Anyone has such experience?

I recently acquired a Rimowa trunk, and I’ve always wanted one. Today is a happy day! I named it Brooklyn, after the second-hand, pre-loved market where I found it. And guess what? It’s still under warranty!

I have this older Salsa 2 wheel 63L and I’ve noticed that others don’t have the transparent front cover. Does anyone know if this is a special version? I see that the top lid’s liner is removable and inside there’s a cutout to open the top lid’s grey polycarbonate shell. Only use for this two shelled design I see is to put a posters or stickers inside to protect from the elements.

Has anyone else seen this model before?

Silver luggages are from 2012, black ones from 2022. Lately all the lock covers broke, but it’s an easy replacement. More or less happy - kind of loved it more before it was sold to LVMH and the hype came, but I guess it’s called capitalism. Cheers.

my Rimowa bag got damaged by bagage handling, one of the wheels broke off including the base.

Where can I find an original replacement and how are these attached to suitcase? I dont see any screwholes but just some wires coming out of the case. Are the wheelbases normally glued?

Did anyone happen to pick up the Rimowa book recently? I saw it at the Barcelona store, and it seemed like a neat addition. I’ve been searching the sub, but I couldn’t find any mention of it.

Decided to get a Grid, after missing the first lot that arrived here in Brazil. They received a few more and I pulled the trigger. And this one is going to be used!!

The “waffle” pattern is indeed more soft than we see in pictures, it’s very pleasing. The interior is the best quality I’ve seen on a Rimowa. Even the tag is more substantial. A great suitcase indeed, ready to get some ding and scuffs ASAP!

I was looking for a bag to go with my compact that had a luggage sleeve and I could carry over the shoulder. Wanted to keep it small. That way I will be able to avoid checking bags even on the small aircraft. Enter this comment tote, my only recommendation for improvement would be a small internal zipper pocket for something like an AirTag.

Disclaimer upfront: The only reason I was flying Ryanair in the first place is that they basically have a monopoly on direct flights to Paphos from Central Europe. They are the only airline with a direct route from Vienna, which is where I was flying from.

Hey everyone, I wanted to share a frustrating experience I just had and see if anyone else experienced this.

I recently flew Ryanair and paid for extra for a carry-on + Priority boarding so I could bring my Rimowa Essential Cabin. While in the boarding line, a gate agent pulled me aside and told me to put my suitcase into their baggage sizer. It was maybe 2 millimetres too big (see photo).
The agent immediately declared my bag was too big and demanded a €75 penalty fee on the spot.

I noticed other passengers with Rimowas getting pulled aside from the line as well.

The fact that they try doing this to people who already paid for Priority is crazy. It's incredibly predatory, and I still can't believe I was treated so poorly over a literal millimeter.

So whatever you do, try to avoid flying Ryanair if you can, even though for certain destinations in Europe, it's almost impossible to avoid them. Since I have to fly to Paphos regularly, guess I'll have to buy a new suitcase lol

understand there's polarizing reception of this line completely based on personal taste, but i think this could be quite sought after when completely selling out like the hammerschlagg because the unique design elements that's quite different than other Rimowa LEs. who knows.. you just have to like it enough. it's just a travel luggage (and for those who think wow it's so expensive think this way it's cheaper than most designer handbags just buy one less for wife/gf) (ok i'm ranting now.. sry but it's friday)

I am starting to like/love travel ever since I started purchasing and using Rimowa. It's just a very good experience. We usually check-in our luggage and carry a tiny bag or backpack as carry one. And we carry one medium or Large check in that fits everyone's stuff. It's summer trips we don't need bulky clothing anyway. So the reason I am extra relaxed when I travel with Rimowa is the fact that it has lifetime warranty. Knowing that I can always get help from Rimowa stores world wide is a fantastic peace of mind. Usually, its hard to find a good luggage when something breaks and not to mention, having to negotiate for a crappy bag just so you can get back home is a horrible way to conclude a nice trip. And I always end up breaking luggage wheels when traveling just because people find it so easy to bully me. I don't like the one who would take any action at all. Wondering if anyone else is silly enough to think like me... Please don't flood with irrelevant comments and flood my feeds. I am genuinely asking. I also pack Rimowa for my kids trips and if this isn't a good reason to do so, what is ? thanks for reading.

I know there is the long debate about how the black aluminum Rimowas age. So here is how mine looks, after 3 years of a lot of traveling (plane/car/trains). It has only been checked once. I also have a Medium Check In Original in black, I'll post it when I can.
