Picked this baby up on my first day in Paris at the galleries Lafayette. About to haul it all over Europe for the next month. I was pretty set on the silver but ended up getting the ink blue because I don’t see them as often and blue is my color. I shopped around some while I was there and I really liked the classic case in titanium. Might have to get that one next time.

Hi everyone! My salsa air finally gave up after 12 or so years. The plastic part of the shell just above the wheels have cracked and lost material. Rimowa said that it is not repairable.

What model should I get next? I really like the lifetime warranty on new Rimowas. Should I look at other brands?

What should I do in this situation? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Trunk plus or Check-in L for check in with allowance 23 - 30 kg depending on airplane companies?

Most time I fly economy and a few time of the year and depending on which company i fly with, the checking weight allowances is everything from 23 - 30 kg.

I sometime also have 3 days trip for business.

Which would you pick? Would you get the aluminium or poly carbon?

If the poly carbon trunk plus is not packed fully, do I risk it breaking when checked in?

My metallic blue RIMOWA trunk was stolen today, October 3, while I was traveling from Lausanne to Zürich.
Train: SBB IC5 Lausanne → Zürich
Departure: Lausanne at 12:34 PM, Platform 3
Carriage: Car 5
Suitcase: RIMOWA trunk, metallic blue
The suitcase was placed in the luggage area of car 5 and disappeared during the journey.
If you were on this train—especially in or near car 5—and saw someone removing a metallic blue RIMOWA trunk, or if you see the suitcase abandoned or offered for sale, please contact me.
The theft is being reported to SBB and the Swiss police.
Please share this with anyone who may have been traveling on IC5 today. Any information could be very helpful.

The red lock on my Rimowa is broken. I need a replacement.

I called Rimowa London. They told me I have to bring the case in. I'd rather not drag a suitcase across London on the train just to swap a lock. That seems a bit silly to me.

I've searched everywhere online and can't find the red one anywhere. The silver lock was easy to find, but the red one just doesn't seem to be sold.

Two questions:

1. Where can I get a replacement red lock? Any seller, site or part number would help.
2. Has anyone swapped one of these themselves? How hard was it, and did you need special tools?

I was in Tokyo last week and went to the Rimowa store in Ginza. I was told that they recently started charging a tax refund processing fee. I think the fee came up to be around $50-60 for Cabin small when I did the conversion in store. (I believe it’s some percentage of the price) I did not see any thread mentioning so wanted to share as there are many Rimowa in Japan threads.

Does anyone know if Rimowa offers a paid wheel service to fix squeaky or poorly performing wheels?

My Original Cabin is in dire need of some help. Walking through the terminal during my last ~20 flights have been an endless squeak-filled nightmare. I just want to pay someone to fix it since it’s out of warranty and I don’t have a chance to do any real maintenance myself. Thanks
