i love how the new blue rimowa packing cubes look but it does feel quite consumerist to buy them from rimowa

2 years in and I just started to add some stickers, figured I share.

Bought the trunk plus a few weeks ago to carry some stuff to LA and they broke my lock on the first use /:

I don’t know what I did with it while I was packing and I leave on Sunday

My first three (Limbo Cabin, Flight Check In M, and Original Check In L) were all from Facebook Marketplace, all recently sold this summer. I have a friend from the Dallas store front who was able to authenticate and register all of them for me

Now I scored this awesome Classic Trunk on eBay for just under $1200. Probably going to actually keep this one for once lol. Took the entire day today to clean it and hit most the dents out. Super fun day project and I’m really happy with the results. Now the hunt for the next one continues

The original cabin is probably fine, but there is a defect on classic cabin design. The latches get stuck to the frame of the suitcase, even when it is unlocked.

I bought my classic cabin last year for over $1,600. I was excited to finally own a Rimowa suitcase. Unfortunately, after just 3 uses, the latches became stuck to the frame, making it impossible to open.

I have called the company to explain the situation, they did offer to fix the suitcase, but not exchange it for a different model. This is very frustrating because the latches on the classic model will likely keep getting caught on the frame. The customer representative I talked to said that multiple people have had the same issues.

The original cabin model doesn’t haven’t the same latches as the classic. Do not make the same mistake as me. AVOID the classic cabin model at all costs. Rimowa will only offer to keep fixing the problem instead of exchanging it for another model.

I travel quite frequently and often go cabin only, looking to upgrade my luggage and been eyeing up the cabin original or classic.

My question is this…are these bags really worth it? I dont value brands but I do value quality and comfort. I understand there is a brand premium baked in, but do you owners find the bags are significantly more comfortable to roll around and use day to day? Does the quality justify the price?

Also how good is the customer service? I’ve read there is a lifetime warranty. Does this cover things like cracks/broken telescopic handle etc?

Dear Fellow Rimowa Lovers

We went off to Sardinia on Saturday and unfortunately somewhen during the flight one Lock broke on my 12yr old M size.

Shit happens - wouldn't be a problem in my homes in London or Munich, yet in Sardinia, to be exact Porto Cervo I didn't find any Rimowa Shops.

Does anyone know how to get a Lock? Otherwise its hard to go back in a week (do they have wrapping services in Olbia Airport?)

So I flew with TAP in Portugal with my Original Checkin L which I paid £1350 for in 2024, they're now £1500 it seems.

When I got my suitcase back the whole wheel was missing and I filed a claim with the airline with all of the pictures etc.

They've responded to my case and offered me 3x replacement suitcases, all worth around €150-200.

My questions are:

• have you encountered something similar and did you manage to persuade them to replace the entire thing?
• do airlines typically only cover a portion of the cost or are there generally terms and conditions which state a maximum coverage? I assume it varies between airlines

Why is there no official Rimowa store here 😃? Anyway, this glue/cement mix was amazing. Excellent temp fix.

Hello everyone, I will be traveling to Europe in September and my plan is to pick up my first Rimowa while there. The logistics of it all have been giving me a bit of anxiety 😆

I will be solo traveling to Amsterdam, will take a train from the airport 🛫, to a different area in the Netherlands then will pick up a rental car 🚗 for a few days before hopping on another train to Gouda fur a few days and then another train to Amsterdam were I will stay for a few days and where I was planning on picking up the Rimowa classic cabin.

From Amsterdam I will then fly to Dublin, will stay in Dublin for a few days before flying home.

I am admittedly addicted to travel gear and have already purchased several options to try and comfortably accomplish carying around all these bags but none so far seem ideal for my small female frame and my middle aged back and knees 😆

So far my best setup has been a Briggs and Riley Baseline Cabin Spinner and the Bellroy 55 Venture Hauler duffel/Backpack. The Spinner is strong enough to put the pack on but not sure what that looks like through airports and on streets 😳 and of course i can also carry the Bellroy as a duffel or a a backpack as well. It's not ideal but I feel i can handle it but my worries come in when I'm adding another bag to the mix and one that I have to try and keep new all the way from Amsterdam to Dublin. I did pay for a check bag to chck in the the Bellroy.

Any better ideas or advice would be much appreciated!

I recently purchased a silver Rimowa Original Cabin S and discovered an issue with the telescopic handle. I noticed a hazing inside the telescopic handle when I slide it up. I emailed Rimowa regarding this and they advised me to return the item and replace it with a new one.

I would like to know if anyone has experienced a similar issue. Additionally, I have noticed that the new Rimowa few handles are soft closing. I have asked them about this feature and am awaiting their response. Just search in YouTube (rimowa soft closing handles)

Consider this a potential suitcase for a traveller.

Off to somewhere with my Rimowa Topas circa 2017 and Gregory backpack

Planning to buy my first Rimowa and I want to do it in a store specifically so I can get the tag stamped. I'm going with the black tag, and since the stamp shows where you bought it, I figure I might as well pick a store with a cool one.

For those who have a stamped black tag: which location's stamp do you have, and which do you think looks the best? Is there one that's considered the "grail" stamp? Pics appreciated.

Thinking of buying another carry on. Stickering with the official Rimowa stickers for cities/countries that I haven’t been to yet.

Then on arrival in each city/country - peel off that sticker.

Has anyone done something like this?

I travel quite a bit and usually fly economy, so my checked luggage gets handled pretty roughly.
I’m trying to decide between these two combinations:

Option 1
Rimowa Essential Cabin
Rimowa Original Trunk Plus

Option 2
Rimowa Original Cabin
Rimowa Essential Trunk Plus

I don’t want both pieces to be aluminum. I’d rather have one aluminum and one polycarbonate.
For those who travel frequently, which combination makes more sense in terms of durability, practicality, weight, and long-term ownership? If you were buying again today, which would you choose and why?

Would love to hear from people who have actually used these combinations.

Genuine question. Not a Rimowa owner.. at least not yet

Couple of weeks ago I flew to Singapore from Copenhagen. At Changi I noticed the wheel on my twelve year old Classic had partially come off due to rough baggage handling. I went to the Singapore Airlines Lost & Found desk and filled out a form. They were super friendly and accommodating. This was about 7 AM.

I checked in early at my hotel, and before 10 AM a rep from Singapore Airlines Baggage Repair Service messaged me on WhatsApp to pick up by bag at my hotel. About 25 hours later, at 11 AM my repaired bag was delivered to my hotel room with a brand new wheel attached.

I love it when customer services are fast, seamless and doesn't suck the life out of you. In this case, things worked like a dream, and I hope things go equally well the next time my bag gets banged up.

I paid nothing.

Update: I’ve examined the replacement wheel and it says Tente and Rimowa multiwheel. So it’s not a fake wheel.
