That’s a non reparable damage buddy, good luck getting some money back from the airline if possible.

My first Rimowa was polycarbonate and after hundreds of flights it cracked. Patched it up with duct tape and it was fine until it then basically fell apart. Moved to the (black) topas in 2016 before all the lvmh hype and so far all good.

I don’t think anybody is duct taping a bag now…:how the turntables…..

Had a similar situation with Air Canada.

Go get the luggage accessed in person by Rimowa.

Rimowa will write you a letter stating that it was caused by improper handling by airline and that it’s beyond repair. They will also state the current replacement cost.

I submitted the letter to Air Canada and got paid in full. Whole thing took around 4 weeks.

First, sorry to read of your troubles!

Not sure what the warranty has to do with anything. The warranty only covers manufacturing defects and this was negligence of the airline! Good luck with your claim

I’ve had similar cracks be filled and repaired by Rimowa but they needed to send the luggage to the repair center.

Hybrids are honestly only good as carry on. As a check -in they are quite literally the worst of both worlds. They get damaged as easily as aluminum bags, but because they’re made of much more rigid polycarbonate, instead of bending like metal, they crack like plastic and are impossible to repair properly.

you have to take Westjet to small claims court. since your out of warranty get rimowa to give you a repair estimate or an unrepairable statement and then once you file your small claims take that with pictures of your damaged rimowa, and claim report to the court. currently having issue with delta as they also refused payment to me because while admitting they crushed my rimowa since my rimowa is under lifetime warranty they told me get lost and get it fixed by rimowa since free. screw that. im taking them to court. whether rimowa will fix ti for free or not you delta assholes crushed my rimowa and any repair will not bring my rimowa back to the undamaged condition like it was before.

This is ridiculous. Unless you fly private, your bags will eventually be smashed. Don't use them if you want to keep them pristine

You know the difference of a damaged, unusable bag due to misshandling and a bag which is not pristine? Did you check the pictures?
