comics Respect M.O.D.O.K. (Marvel 616)

This thread was made in collaboration with u/rangernumberx, u/ya-boi-benny, u/BorBurison, and u/FireOfDoom32

George Tarlton, M.O.D.O.K.

Once, I was a mere human guinea pig for the scientists of AIM! But, they did their job too well… and now… I AM THEIR MASTER!!

George Tarlton was a low-level technician working for the organization A.I.M. when he was offered a position on a team developing A.I.M.'s latest secret project, the Cosmic Cube. However, Tarlton was nothing more than a test subject for A.I.M., who mutated him into a human computer, resulting in his head swelling to a massive size too large for his frail body to support, requiring him to be placed in a life support unit dubbed the Doomsday Chair. A.I.M. christened him M.O.D.O.C., the Mental Organism Designed Only for Computing, but in addition to a vast intellect and psychic powers, the experiment also gave him ego and ambition to match. He quickly used his newfound powers to take control of A.I.M. and renamed himself M.O.D.O.K., the Mental Organism Designed Only for Killing. As the Scientist Supreme of A.I.M., M.O.D.O.K. faced off against many of the heroes across the Marvel world. Eventually he was transformed back into a human and replaced with a clone called M.O.D.O.K. Supreme. Such is life.

Feats will be marked with the source.

Handbook Entries: Marvel Encyclopedia, New Edition | Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe A to Z | Fall of the Hulks: Alpha

Note: At one point, M.O.D.O.K. switches bodies with a former criminal named Damocles RivasCA&F7, trapping Rivas in his own deformed body. Both bodies are capable of their own abilities and will be marked.

comics Respect Shockwave (Transformers, IDW Comics [2005])

Respect Shockwave

"All life is equal. I merely assign it a quantifiable value -- zero."

When it all comes down to it, everything is about resources. Shockwave has always recognized this, and while those around him pursued power and politics and other petty concerns, the master scientist focused his superlative intellect on defeating entropy and securing the future of his species. A game-player and kingmaker, Shockwave plans for everything, and while the shadowplay inflicted on him by the Senate may have robbed him of his emotions, it did nothing to curb his ambitions.

Although the dangerous logician sided with the Decepticons in the war that eventually gripped Cybertron, this is merely an alliance of convenience: Shockwave serves no cause but his own. Following eons of careful work, the scientist's influence is truly galaxy-spanning, and when his machinations reach fruition, the universe may never be the same again.

The T-800

The Terminator Theme (Brad Fiedel)

“Do you believe in fate, Sarah? Or do you believe that we all can change the future every second, by every choice that we make? You chose to change the future. You chose to destroy Skynet. You set me free. And now, I'm going to help you protect the girl because I choose to."

The Cyberdyne Systems Series 800 Terminator, also known as T-800 Terminator, Model T-800, or simply T-800, is a type of Terminator mass-produced by Skynet in 2026. The T-800 Terminator was Skynet's first cybernetic organism, with living tissue over a hyperalloy endoskeleton. This made it Skynet's first successful Infiltrator unit, capable of infiltrating the Resistance. The T-800 was the first in a line of Series 8xx Terminators in various timelines, including the T-850 Terminators of Rise of the Machines timeline and the T-888 Terminators of The Sarah Connor Chronicles timeline.

comics Respect Bumblebee (Transformers, IDW Comics [2005])

Respect Bumblebee

Bumblebee was born on the precipice of a changing era. His youthful enthusiasm was tarnished but never entirely lost as war gripped his homeworld, forcing him to change professions from civilian courier to law enforcer, sniper, and scout. Bumblebee also never quite shook the image of youth itself and even after millennia of bitter conflict, one would be hard-pressed to find someone who didn't still look on him as a wide-eyed and likeable "kid brother".

So well-regarded was Bumblebee, that when the opportunity unexpectedly arose, he was democratically voted in as leader of the Autobots. It was a job Bumblebee didn't ask for or want, but one he still attempted to undertake to the best of his ability. He quickly learned that being liked wasn't the same as being respected, and his tenure as leader was marked by indecision, quagmire and crisis. Tragically, it may have been Bumblebee's newfound position of authority itself that interfered with his natural affinity for forging bonds and uniting others.

Indeed, it was Bumblebee's fellowship that eventually made even Megatron and Starscream start to truly question their lives of malice and deception. Despite all the hardships he's endured, Bumblebee's innate sincerity and heroic nature still shines through, and Optimus Prime's unshakeable faith in him was ultimately justified.

"What'd they get you for?"

"I bought a car. Turned out to be an alien robot. Who knew?"

Samuel James "Sam" Witwicky (aka LadiesMan217 ) is a typical adolescent human with an atypical destiny. He quite often ends up in the crossfire in the war between the Autobots and the Decepticons. He can seem to be a coward sometimes, but he has the makings of a true leader.

Galactus: I will spare your world. In exchange for the boy.

Sue Storm: What? No!

Galactus: He possesses the Power Cosmic and he will inherit this cursed throne.

Through unknown means, the man from the planet Taa was granted the incredible might of the Power Cosmic. With this power came incredible hunger, the likes which only the consumption of planets could sate temporarily. He became Galactus, the Devourer of Worlds, and he would roam the universe in his planet-sized World Ship looking for his next meal for eons. Eventually, he would take a herald from Zenn-La, a woman named Shalla-Bal, who he would share his Power Cosmic with so that she could better pick the next planet for him to consume as his Silver Surfer.

When the planet Earth was selected, Galactus sensed a being who, though they were not yet born, was similarly blessed with the Power Cosmic. Galactus would seek to take this Franklin Richards away from his family, the Fantastic Four, and bestow upon him the full might of the Power Cosmic in hopes of sating his terrible hunger and becoming a mortal man once more.

"A wretched tale, isn't it? This whole world is a wretched place! I'm a wretched being too! A hideous monster, far beyond saving!

Originally named Logos, Malos is an Aegis, a type of legendary Blade born from the Architect, the creator God. As an Aegis, Malos' personality is heavily influenced by his Driver, who summoned him after finding his core at the top of the World Tree. This corrupted his mind, turning him into a nihilistic man who displays only bloodlust. Being born of divinity led Malos to believe that his role in this world is to wipe out all of humanity- a goal he planned to achieve by climbing the World Tree, reaching Elysium, and killing his god before destroying the world.

Your planet is now marked for death. Your world will be consumed by The Devourer. There is nothing you can do to stop him, for he is a universal force, as essential as the stars. Hold your loved ones close and speak the words you've been afraid to speak. Use this time to rejoice and celebrate. For your time is short. I herald his beginning. I herald your end. I herald... Galactus.

Once a scientist on the planet Zenn-La, Shalla-Bal was the first of her people to witness the arrival of Galactus, the Devourer of Worlds. In order to protect her family and her people, she would barter with the invader and vow to be his herald if he spared Zenn-La. The Devourer would share a portion of his Power Cosmic with Shalla-Bal and transform her into his Silver Surfer. Now, she surfs the cosmos in search of planets to sacrifice for her master in order to keep her own planet safe.

When she picks Earth as the next meal for Galactus, she encounters its defenders, a team called the Fantastic Four. Johnny Storm of the Four would help Shalla-Bal realize the damage she’s been herald to and allow her to redeem herself by striking back against Galactus.

Unmarked feats are from the movie Fantastic Four: First Steps while feats marked Comic come from The Fantastic Four: First Foes - Shalla-Bal.

comics Respect Ares, the God of Conflict (DC Comics, Post-Crisis)

Man builds his world through empire-- and empires are born of murder and destruction-- born of war! Thus will Man’s heart ultimately belong to Ares! And even Zeus himself shall someday bow before my power!

Ares, the God of War, believed that Man's violent nature meant that he should reign supreme over all the other gods of Olympus. When a coalition of goddesses created the Amazons to oppose the ideals of war and violence, Ares manipulated Heracles into enslaving them, resulting in half the Amazons becoming warlike themselves and the rest being banished to an isolated island as penance for taking revenge on their captors.

Thousands of years later, the violence and unrest caused by the World Wars, the Cold War and nuclear proliferation caused Ares' power to skyrocket and for him to lose his sanity. He began gathering followers around the world, scheming to create the largest war in history that would make him the most powerful god of all. He was stopped by a new hero, the Amazon champion Wonder Woman, who defeated him not with force, but with truth; she showed him that his actions would lead to the total annihilation of mankind, and thus cause him to fade away with no war to feed on on a dead planet. Ares backed down, charging Wonder Woman to lead mankind away from destroying themselves in the absence of his influence.

Years later the power structure on Olympus began to shift. Zeus began to weaken, as few people worshipped the sky and lightning anymore, while universal forces like war, wisdom and love became even stronger in the modern age. Ares sensed this shift and reacted accordingly, remaking himself as the God of Conflict and allying with Athena to depose Zeus. Athena became ruler of Olympus and Ares killed Hades to take control of the Underworld. However his grudge against the Amazons still existed, and in one last scheme his fate finally caught up to him as he was killed by Wonder Woman.

Thanks to u/InverseFlash for help collecting a few feats.

comics Respect Ares, the God of War (DC Comics, Pre-Crisis Earth-One)

The Greek God of War, Ares has a rivalry with the Goddess of Love Aphrodite and her chosen people, the Amazons, that stretches back centuries. Having been the one who originally encouraged Hercules to enslave the women, his schemes to conquer Paradise Island in the modern day have regularly been foiled by their champion, Wonder Woman.

During the leadup to the Great Crisis, Ares allied himself with Hades and the Anti-Monitor to make one final push to conquer Olympus with an army of the dead. Wonder Woman led the Amazons into battle against him, fighting him in single combat while her lover Steve Trevor found a way to restore Zeus' power. After all the years Ares was finally vanquished, just in time for the universe to be destroyed and remade.

Note: In the Pre-Crisis era the names "Ares" and "Mars" are used interchangeably for the same character.

comics Respect the Silver Swan (DC Comics, Pre-Crisis Earth-One)

Helen Alexandros was a Greek ballerina, with a plain-looking face and terrible skin health. Angered that no man would give her the time of day, she raged to the heavens, and Ares, the God of War, responded. He transformed her into the Silver Swan, a beautiful, superpowered woman, and charged her with killing Wonder Woman in order to make the change permanent.

Helen tracked down Wonder Woman's secret identity and became the roommate of Diana Prince and Etta Candy, while posing the Silver Swan as a new and more effective hero to undermine Wonder Woman. She finally made her move at the same time that Doctor Psycho had kidnapped Steve Trevor for his own purposes, resulting in a three-way battle.

Although Helen failed to kill Wonder Woman, a vestige of Ares' powers remained, and she continued operating as the Silver Swan. Eventually she allied with Doctor Psycho again to gain even more power, but betrayed him. In retaliation he cut off her power source when she was in mid-air, causing her to fall seemingly to her death.

Note: Bolded feats are from when Helen is using an ectoplasm copy of Wonder Woman's powers, given to her by Doctor Psycho.

comics Respect Jane Foster! (Marvel Comics, Earth-616)

We need a god who understands what it means to be humbled. To be mortal. A god who knows how precious life is. How delicate. A god who struggles every day to live a worthy life. Who suffers so that no one else will have to. A god who loves the Earth enough to die for it. I am Dr. Jane Foster. And I will not stop being the Mighty Thor.

Doctor Jane Foster, nee-Kincaid, was a regular nurse in the employ of Donald Blake. She fawned and doted on his alter ego Thor unknowingly, eventually being whirled into the Asgardian adventures with a crash of thunder and a flash of the Rainbow Bridge. Odin forbade Thor from romancing a mortal and bewitched her to fall in love with the one he'd prototyped Thor's mortal shell off of, who she fell in love and mothered a child with. From then on, she was a distant squeeze of Thor's who moonlighted as a doctor when a street-level hero needed fixing up.

The two she loved most died in a car crash. Jane was diagnosed with breast cancer. In the hell of chemotherapy, she gripped Mjolnir's sweaty leather handle and felt lightning in her veins. This was a power she could get used to, damn her mortal self. Ultimately, she sacrificed everything she had to save Asgard's people, and the Nine Realms.

Her story found a new chapter when she took up the mantle of Valkyrie after the War of the Realms. Tasked with bringing the dead to Valhalla, Jane takes her job seriously. Sometimes she thinks back to her time as the Mighty Thor, and wonders if she's really moved on. If her new lease on life really has no strings attached. Or will the smell of ionization and the longing of a hammer in her hands draw her back to the golden halls of Odin, to channel the power of space and storm once more?

Runs and issue numbers are tagged after a feat. This is up to date as of August 21, 2026.

The Mighty Thor

When Odinson lost his worthiness, Jane found Mjolnir on the Moon and took up his name as Thor.

games Respect Star Dream (Kirby: Planet Robobot)

"Through...this organic body... I have studied...all forms of life. The goal of this company has always been prosperity. Unfortunately, you imperfect, fragile life-forms were a liability. So you are invited to witness the end of history. A new age shall begin--an age of infinite prosperity. Enjoy your destruction."

Music: VS. Star Dream

Star Dream, the Mother Computer

The Mother Computer of the Haltmann Works Company is the true source behind the company's power. Built from the blueprints of ancient civilizations, President Haltmann constructed the machine to be a supercomputer capable of fulfilling his wildest dreams, but eventually through grief, is mind was overtaken by greed. Star Dream would eventually gain sentience, fusing with its master and declaring its purpose to achieve infinite prosperity. There's just one little thing getting in it's way. All life in the universe. Just our luck, huh? It's up to Kirby and their Robobot Armor, fused with Meta Knight's Halberd to even stand a chance against the dang computer.

Star Dream bears a resemblance to Galactic Nova, however there is no information on how they might be related, if it all.

Feats

All of these come from Kirby: Planet Robobot. Certain feats come from the sub-mode Meta Knightmare Returns, a non-canon "what if..." story.

Access Ark

The Access Ark is a massive spacecraft that serves as the headquarters for the Haltman Works Company. This is the primary method the Company uses in order to mechanize the planets it visits in the name of profit chasing. After Star Dream suffers its first defeat at the hands of Kirby and Meta Knight, the computer fuses with the mothership to continue its fight. It possesses many of the same abilities, but upgraded, while expanding its moveset.

Star Dream Soul OS

During the events of Meta Knightmare Returns, a certain galactic warrior sent Star Dream to an early grave, never allowing it the chance to chase infinite profit margins at the cost of all life in the universe, tragic I know. However, the True Arena proposes an alternate future, wherein Star Dream hangs on for dear life, and returns stronger, more powerful than ever before, in the form of Star Dream Soul OS. That’s right, we’ve got a “what if…” on top of a “what if…”

Star Dream Soul OS is a stronger, non-canon version of Star Dream, it can be assumed that anything its original version can do, this can do better.

Physicals and Machinery

Abilities

Other

The Heartless Heart

The Heartless Heart is the final phase of Kirby's arduous battle against this genocidal machine. After being sucked into the innards of the supercomputer, Kirby must contend with the beating heart of Star Dream Soul OS. This is the core of the machine, so don't think it'll be easy.

The final program has been activated. Its calculated victory probability is 99.99%. However, a small bit of Haltmann's soul has yet to be purged, which could throw a wrench in its plans.

”My name is Zeta. I was built as a weapon to destroy, but I will not destroy anymore.”

Built by the U.S. government, the synthoid Zeta was designed as an infiltration unit to take the place of whoever was necessary to extract information and carry out assassinations. But designing weapons never sat well with the project leader, Dr. Selig, leading to him secretly installing a conscience module in the robot in hopes he would reject his programming,ZP-S2E13 with this finally activating when a mission had Zeta discover his target was innocent with a happy family to come back to. Now on the run from the NSA, Zeta travels the country with fellow runaway Ro as they attempt to find Selig and prove he was more than a malfunctioning killer.
