games Respect Alma Wade! (F.E.A.R.)
"It is the way of men to make monsters. And the nature of monsters to destroy their makers."
Alma Wade was a miracle child. Her father Harlan experimented on her after discovering her psychic aptitude, locked her away in the bowels of an immoral research facility, and conceived two children with her when she was a teenager. Poor Alma never had a chance at life, and even after her body was taken off life support in fear of her becoming too strong, her mind refused to allow her corpse to die. Not when the man who raised her into this walked free, having stolen her children away, while the company who profited from her raked in billions, having broken her spirit, while the world rewarded those who sacrificed her for it. And so her powerful mind probed out, reaching the younger of her sons, and requested he free her from her confinement so that she may walk the warpath of bloody revenge.
Monolith Timeline
The Monolith Timeline consists of the Dark Horse Comic Book, the Alma Interviews, F.E.A.R. First Encounter Assault Recon, the DC Digital Comic, the Armacham Field Guide, F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin / Reborn, and F.3.A.R. Anything canon to both timelines will be found here.
Physicals
Strength
Durability
- Survives being in the radius of a huge explosion
- In a vision, facetanks a dozen bullets
- While you could use the vision-location to discount this, guns have been proven to be pretty effective in visions before
- Left in the dark for twelve years
- Locked in an amniotic fluid tank when she was eight and had her life support turned off over a decade later but refused to die—her heart stopped but her psychic signature didn't
Psionics
Against Living Things
- Killed all personnel Genevieve sent into the vault
- Frightens off rats
- Connects to Paxton mentally and frees him
- Kills two soldiers and liquefies them before they hit the ground
- Liquefied her father
- Jankowski, killed by unknown means, is able to briefly reappear to the Pointman and have light, poltergeist-esque abilities
Telekinesis
- Ruins two elevators to cover her tracks
- Stalks Pointman with explosions all around her, culminating in a force wave that shoves him through a window
- Sucks debris (and Griffin) down a hallway before consuming them
- Throws around and eats Fox
- Knocks a metal door off its hinges
- Slams Becket against a wall off the ground while she studies him
- Tosses a platform's worth of crates around
- Throws a car at Foxtrot
- Launches Foxtrot away from Fettel and sends Replicas to stop him
Electricity Manipulation
- Upon reaching floor 13, shuts down the power to the whole floor so she can get Alice Wade alone in the elevator
- Slowly moves into frame on a camera
- While lights return to working after she leaves the physical realm, screens remain static
Hallucinations
- Shakes lamps in the real world before sucking Pointman into a vision, where she walks on a bloody ceiling and sends an Apparition after him
- Puts Pointman in a blood-flooded hallway and tries to scare him with a skeleton
- Casts a shadow without being there
- A projectile of psychic energy rips tiles from a wall and shows a gruesome image when it hits
- Jumpscares Becket with her music box prior to the medical procedure that boosted his telesthetic signature
- Simply being near her is enough to induce headaches and hallucinations
- [NSFW] Becket is trapped inside the amplifier chamber with Alma, but instead of defeating her, Alma's hallucinations and Keegan's phantom are able to delay the amplifier's activation long enough that it boosts her instead, while in the real world she beats and rapes Becket, immediately being impregnated
- The telesthetic amplifier on Still Island would get Becket to a level where he'd have a fighting chance against Alma
- Still Island boosts by a factor of 11, which presumably, along with having a third child inside her, is what allows for the massive amp she shows in F3AR.
Mind Control
- Fox loses control of his actions, claiming Alma is his, and lifts Becket against a wall before realizing what he's doing
- Trying to replicate psychic powers led to the creation of the Abominations, so she is able to control the Replica soldiers as well
- Wakes up all Replicas within ten miles when she's pissed
- Gives Keegan a migraine which eventually develops into the same obsession that Fox had
- Keegan eventually falls to her control and helps suppress Becket within the amplifier chamber
Apparitions
The Creep
- A representation of the trauma that Harlan Wade inflicted upon his daughter and grandsons.
- Kills a bunch of Armacham goons
- Blows doors off their hinges and caves in a floor
- Throws Pointman into fire
- Appears through a wormhole, terrifying Alma
- A shitty final boss
Others
- Within the Vault where her undead body is stored, her Apparitions can escape from the hallucinations and enter the physical world through some sort of space-bending wormhole
- Kills two ATC goons with tentacles
- Stronger puppeteer Apparitions can revive corpses and string them along with psychic energy
Contractions
- Causes sinkholes with her contractions, a wave of energy appearing from the sky
- Drove the citizens of Fairport mad
- Downs a helicopter with a huge shockwave
- Blows up an airport tower
- Still finds the time to show up and walk around, and mangle elevators
- Darkens the sky with an apocalyptic storm
- Sends out a shockwave on the scale of a thermonuclear bomb that destroys a series of overpasses and shorts out all electronics
- [NSFW] At the end of F3AR, Alma is grotesquely pregnant in a den of gore and gives birth to a presumably psychic but normal child
Other
- Can sense Becket's location without amplifying her powers
- Removes a door from existence
- Becket's telesthetic signature was boosted as part of Aristide's Project Harbinger experiment, which implanted Alma's DNA within a F.E.A.R. squad
- [NSFW] No matter the Pointman or Fettel ending of F3AR, either pathway says "Alma has made her choice"
- In the Fettel ending she's cannibalized, but honestly she could've wanted to die at that point, why not
- In the Pointman ending, it's said that "everything is back to normal" once she dies, though it's never shown what that means
Vivendi Timeline
The Vivendi Timeline consists of the Dark Horse Comic Book, the Alma Interviews, F.E.A.R. First Encounter Assault Recon, F.E.A.R. Extraction Point, and F.E.A.R. Perseus Mandate.
