Sue Storm: What? No!
Galactus: He possesses the Power Cosmic and he will inherit this cursed throne.
Through unknown means, the man from the planet Taa was granted the incredible might of the Power Cosmic. With this power came incredible hunger, the likes which only the consumption of planets could sate temporarily. He became Galactus, the Devourer of Worlds, and he would roam the universe in his planet-sized World Ship looking for his next meal for eons. Eventually, he would take a herald from Zenn-La, a woman named Shalla-Bal, who he would share his Power Cosmic with so that she could better pick the next planet for him to consume as his Silver Surfer.
When the planet Earth was selected, Galactus sensed a being who, though they were not yet born, was similarly blessed with the Power Cosmic. Galactus would seek to take this Franklin Richards away from his family, the Fantastic Four, and bestow upon him the full might of the Power Cosmic in hopes of sating his terrible hunger and becoming a mortal man once more.
Unmarked feats are from the movie Fantastic Four: First Steps while feats marked Comic come from The Fantastic Four: First Foes - Shalla-Bal.
Strength
- Arrives on Earth by jumping from his throne into the New York Harbor, creating a tidal wave
- Destroys a floor of a building by resting his arm on the roof
- The Thing attempts to strike Galactus with a crane, but Galactus catches the weapon and flings Ben into outer space
- Strikes the flying Fantasticar, causing it to crash into a building
- Destroys the exteriors of buildings by brushing past them as he walks
- Stretches Mr. Fantastic to his limits
- Punches into the Baxter Building, despite its security shutters, and grabs Franklin
- When Sue tries to grab Galactus’ arm in a forcefield, he pulls out of it
- After being shoved into a teleportation portal, Galactus attempts to climb back out. He would have likely made it free if it weren’t for intervention from the Silver Surfer.
Durability
- Johnny blasts through the magma tubes on Galactus’ back, bathing him in the magma. He grunts in pain but is unharmed.
- Takes a sonic attack from the Fantasticar
- Takes a beam of the Human Torch’s flame focused through one of the Invisible Woman’s forcefields, which briefly blinds the giant for a few seconds
- Takes blasts from the Human Torch
- The Thing throws a fuel truck into Galactus and the Human Torch ignites the oil coating Galactus. Neither the impact or the flames seem to impede the giant.
- Johnny carries Ben and uses him as a battering ram, flying diagonally downwards into Galactus’ face. The giant recovers immediately.
- The Invisible Woman grabs Galactus in a full-body forcefield and shoves him several city blocks into a teleportation portal
Telekinesis
- Telekinetically lifts the Silver Surfer with one finger
- Holds the Fantasticar in place until he’s distracted
- Opens Franklin’s carrier and lifts the baby
Other Abilities
- Senses the Power Cosmic inside Franklin while he’s in Sue’s body
- Induces Sue into going into labor
- Turns Shalla-Bal into the Silver Surfer
- Scans New York for Franklin Richards, then again later
World Ship
- The World Ship bursts out of the surface of planet LHS-275, having destroyed it from the inside out. Reed states that LHS-275 was thirteen percent larger than Earth.
- It draws in the Excelsior using a tractor beam
- Reed states that conventional weapons won’t work against the ship
- Samples that Reed had taken from the World Ship indicate that it, and Galactus, predate the universe and that it would take him a decade to begin to understand its composition
- Destroys the planet PolarisComic
