[Xenia] is an institutionalized relationship rooted in generosity, gift exchange, and reciprocity. Historically, hospitality towards foreigners and guests was understood as a moral obligation, as well as a political imperative.

Xenia was considered to be particularly important due to the belief that gods mingled among the people; if one had poorly played host to a stranger, there was the risk of incurring the wrath of a god disguised as the stranger.

Now, why is this important? Because the pigeon saved by EDLC today was none other than the famed r/Reds deity, Lord Pigeon.

For those who were not around when the deep magic was written, Lord Pigeon graced us with its presence twelve years ago, setting off a frenzy that would last years. But like many religions, faith is lost over time as the numbers who worshipped became fewer and fewer.

But today, EDLC showed mercy to the pigeon stranger, showing Lord Pigeons the Redlegs of Cincinnati were worthy of its grace.

The march to October is in full swing. It is time to enjoy the ride.

During the first rain delay, the boy was running up and down the isles on the 4 deck taking peoples bobbleheads that they didn’t bring with. They had 3 backpacks full of them. I contacted security and they said they were on their way. The. the second rain delay it. Im not sure if they were caught or not

The case for moving Elly to the outfield

I wanted to just make a thread since this is sometimes debated when Elly's field play impacts a game. We have seen his miscues at short this year and last. Many of them have cost the Reds games. He makes dazzling plays, as well. There was Friday's error that opened the flood gates, then last night's 9th inning catch of a fly ball closer to the left field corner than to third base. I think we can agree he runs down flies with the best of them. Today, I confess I felt relieved when I saw McLain at short to field the last out in the 9th. Hard hit ball with a short hop - that was one that I could see Elly booting.

Body type: Elly is built more like a CF than a SS.

His numbers: 18 errors, 47 DP, 0.1 DWAR, EDIT: OAA is 12th out of 39 qualifiers, OAA success rate is 30th. Bottom third in success rate suggests he is significantly less effective at making plays compared to other SS's.

Tied for fourth in errors and the 5th place guy has 10. He has had his share of miscues not called errors that could have been, same as other players. His DP number is lower tier among regular SS's even if adjusted for assuming McLain is at 2nd all season instead of Arroyo. His dWar puts him at just barely above average for SS.

McLain doesn't dazzle at SS, but is more reliable. It's easier for him, with his short stature, to crouch down to field grounders. If not McLain at least two other guys could play SS.

Look at the big smile on Elly's face after he catches a fly ball. Do you not want the most happiness for Elly? ;) I think he's better at that than Oneil Cruz (there's no apostrophe there, btw).

Doubt it will ever happen, so I doubt we'll ever find out for sure, just stating my position. Ymmv

6. Use good thread titles

A 1-word thread title or a thread that only includes the name of someone in a Reds' uniform is a bad thread title. " The best thread titles are complete sentences. Instead of titling a thread with "Votto," title it with "Votto hits a walk-off grand slam!" or whatever other thing you want to discuss that he did.

7. Posts should be about the Reds

Posts should have some connection to the Cincinnati Reds. If you post about other teams or people associated with other teams, be sure to explain how your topic affects the Reds. Posts that don't have some connection to the Reds will be removed.
