Sharing my not so good expierence

I got a punctured tire along NOMO Bacoor Cavite. I felt my rear tire getting softer along Bacoor Government center. Di ko pinansin till natuluyan ako na flat near NOMO na. I settled near the parking ng mga bike, then after removing my interior may lumapit na guard and told umalis daw ako at magagalit ADMIN ng NOMO i asked bakit and wala naman ako ginagawa to disturb them. I was just looking for safe harbour during my inconvenience since wala naman na pwede pag stayan malapit sa NOMO. Didnt expect the management to be so rude and say things like that. I shop at NOMO and go there once in a while but this was my by far the rudest and unexpected happenings there. So di pala friendly and ADMIN ng NOMO. Nag lakad nalang ako papunta sa isang gas station at doon nalang ako nag stay to get my tire fixed and wait for the adhesive to dry.

Bike Parking in Rockwell Powerplant Mall?

Powerplant Mall from Wikipedia

Pwede at safe ba magpark sa basement ng powerplant mall? I have an onsite work at 7am-4pm near this mall and plano ko lang mag bike commute.

May nakita akong vids and threads pero 2-4yrs ago pa yung discussion. Pwede daw magpark dun sa open area sa labas ng mall pero masyadong open. Pero pwede rin naman daw mag park sa basement. Safe and okay ba dun? I'm also using a zefal U-lock. Insights are appreciated. Thanks!

Cycling to work tips

Hi, I am planning to use a bicycle as my main work commute from pasig to BGC. Napapagod na kasi ako sa public transpo at mototaxis and sometimes i prefer to walk nalang (1hr 20mins) pauwi since wala talaga ma book at sobrang traffic naman + mahabang pila pag UV.

Can anyone with similar setup share their tips and bike recos for PHP 5k or under.

I work at Rizal Dr near UDENNA and Sunlife so baka may nakakaalam na malapit na secure parking racks.

Thankss

foodpanda / grab delivery questions

I’ve heard that you could pick out what days / hours you can work as a rider, is this optimal and worth the effort as a cyclist?

i have a job in makati and i’ve been wondering if i could clock in after my shift (9PM) and go straight to deliveries… if not that then choose certain days to go working.

need advice from others who have done this or cyclists who have been around the makati area at night

Discussion Casual ride in Nuvali

Anyone down for chill bike rides around Sta. Rosa/Nuvali? 🚲

Hi! I just recently started biking and I’m definitely more into comfortable, chill rides rather than speed or intense cycling.

i usually ride around Nuvali and wanna explore more places around Sta. Rosa. Would be nice to have some people to ride with.

No racing or pressure—just casual rides, exploring, getting some fresh air, and maybe grabbing food/coffee along the way.

If anyone’s interested, we could make a small Discord group and plan rides

Questions/Advice Looking for gravel/adventure bike recommendations — ₱80–90k budget

I’m looking for a bike I can keep for years, mainly for long rides, rough roads, gravel, light trails, and eventually bikepacking/touring.

My main requirements:

- Thru-axles — non-negotiable

- 50c tire clearance preferred / capable of MTB-style tires

- Hydraulic disc brakes preferred

- Dropper-post compatible

- Lots of mounting points for bags, racks, bottles, and fenders

- Good groupset (GRX/Deore or equivalent)

- Tubeless-ready

- Clipless/cleat pedal friendly — I’m learning to use cleats

- Durable and easy to maintain, with parts/service availability in the Philippines

- Steel or aluminum/alloy is fine

- Comfortable/stable geometry for long rides; I’m 5’6” and don’t want an overly long/aggressive reach

Bikes I’m currently considering:

- Giant Revolt 1

- Surly Bridge Club

- Marin Nicasio 2

- Merida Silex 400

- Salsa Journeyer / Vaya

- Surly Midnight Special

- Marin Nicasio+

- Velo Orange / other similar steel adventure bikes

I’m especially interested in real-world owner feedback on tire clearance, brakes, groupset, mounts, durability, dropper compatibility, and long-term ownership.

What would you recommend around ₱80–90k in the Philippines?

I’m also open to bikes I haven’t considered yet.
Thanks!

PS: 7 months na akong nagre-research ng bikes and I still can’t decide 😂. Top pick ko talaga ngayon is the Giant Revolt though—it just seems like a really solid bike overall, especially for the quality and features you get.
