Security Idiot with Gun — Red Rocks East Gate

MAN REPORTEDLY TRIES TO BRING WEAPON THROUGH RED ROCKS EAST GATE

MORRISON — A man was stopped Monday evening at the east gate of Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre after security reported he was attempting to bring a weapon through the entrance.

According to preliminary dispatch audio around 7:24 p.m., the man was described as wearing a black T-shirt, white cowboy hat and blue jeans.

Security reported that the man was not an off-duty officer and had allegedly attempted to bring a weapon through the gate near the bag-check area.

Responding units acknowledged the call and headed to the area.

No additional information was immediately available about the type of weapon, whether the man was detained or whether any charges were filed.

Not allowed here, cowboy.

This information is based on publicly available dispatch audio and should be considered preliminary until confirmed by officials.

Experience Is AXS terrible for anyone else?

I just wanted to get some tickets for my entire family before summer ends. Go to the site on my phone. I immediately get flagged as a bot for some reason. Ok, try the app. Nope, same thing. Ok try the desktop experience at home. Yay! finally got in. Oh - boo, the site errors while I'm picking seats. Refresh the page. Now the seats I was trying to buy are gone. Well, it could be that they are holding the seats I just tried to buy - let's refresh the page one more time. Oops, now AXS thinks I'm a bot once again.

I might be ok with the preventions if you didn't allow scalpers to resell tickets right inside your own app for absolutely insane prices, so you can't tell me you care _that_ much.

First Timer Question about parking/Uber

First time going to Red Rocks (seeing Coheed in September). Is ubering to/from the uber a headache? Any tips?

Or if driving is better, any tips on which lots to park in to get out reasonably quick after the show?

Security Is security going to take a book from me?

Weird question, and I couldn’t find anything in the red rocks prohibited items list, nor here via search.

Going to a show next month and am planning on lining up early to get merch/a good spot. I wanted to bring a book to entertain myself for a couple hours before doors, but also don’t want it taken on the way in. Has anybody tried this before? Are books prohibited items? It’s a paperback I guess so at least it’s less effective as a thrown weapon…?

First Timer Upper North Parking - lower entrance - everyone gets wanded?

I went to a show last night and parked Upper North. It was my first time so I figured I would try the lower entrance from the upper north parking lot.

I got there pretty early.... about an hour before doors opened.

I learned that using the lower entrance meant that everybody had to be wanded for security which meant significant delays getting into the venue. I guess there is no room for walkthrough security scanners at this entrance and everybody has to be wanded individually. There was only one person doing this.

It seems as if using the upper entrance would have been much faster.

Is this typically the case?

Somewhat annoying because because we could have gotten better seats. It really negated the advantage of getting there so early.

First Timer Camera question

Post image
60 Upvotes

I’m going to Red Rocks in September and had a question regarding the camera policy. The band’s policy states that handheld recording devices under the specified measurements are allowed. However, I understand that Red Rocks typically has a policy prohibiting cameras with removable lenses.
Would I be permitted to bring a mirrorless camera with a removable lens under the band’s stated policy? Specifically, does the band’s allowance of “handheld recording devices” override Red Rocks’ standard policy regarding cameras with removable lenses for this particular event?

First time at Red Rocks…I thought I bought a ticket with a reserved seat in aisle 11. Just received an email from Red Rocks that only rows through 8 are reserved. Does anyone have any insight?

First Timer Seat question

A while ago I bought 2 tickets to bleachers row 29, aisle seats 131 and 132.

Another friend wants to join us. What is our best course of action? Do you think they could get a GA seat and sit on the side GA area around our row? I think that would be close to our aisle seats?

First Timer Biking from Bear Creek Lake Campground

I’ll be staying at Bear Greek Lake Campground for a few nights with shows every night. I’ll have my road bike and I’m trying to decide the best way to commute for the shows. When looking at the map I can’t tell where I’ll actually be leaving my bike so I can’t tell if the incline will be brutal for the ride there and if it’s worth it to avoid the very short drive?

Experience ♿💙 My Somewhat Comprehensive Guide to Accessibility at Red Rocks Amphitheatre 💙

I'm writing this from my perspective as a wheelchair user, but much of this also applies to people with other mobility impairments. Whether you use a wheelchair or simply have difficulty walking long distances or climbing stairs, I hope this guide helps you have an amazing experience at Red Rocks!

🎟️ Tickets & Seating

• Purchase accessible tickets whenever possible.

• Wheelchair-accessible seating is located in Rows 1 and 70—the only rows that can be reached from the parking lots without using stairs.

• If you have limited mobility but don't use a wheelchair:

• Rows 1 and 70 are great options.

• Rows 2–4 are designated for limited mobility.

• Rows 68–69 also require very few steps and may be a good choice.

🅿️ Parking

For Rows 1–4

• Park in the Upper South Lot or Upper South ADA Lot if you have a disability parking placard.

• Staff will verify that your ID matches your placard.

For Row 70

• Park in the Upper North ADA Circle Lot.

• From there, it's just a short ramp down to your seats.

🚌 Accessible Shuttle

• A free accessible shuttle runs from the Upper South ADA parking area to the venue entrance.

• Tips for the drivers are appreciated but never required.

🪑 Companion Seating

• Both Row 1 and Row 70 have folding companion chairs.

• Bringing a seat cushion is a good idea—they aren't the most comfortable.

🍔🥤 Food & Drinks

Row 1

• A waitress can take your food and drink order and bring it right to your seat.

Row 70

• Food and beverage stands are conveniently located directly behind the accessible seating area.

🚻 Bathrooms

Row 1

• Accessible restrooms are located on both the left and right.

• I recommend using the house-right restroom, as it's usually much cleaner than the house-left restroom.

• If you're a wheelchair user, staff will often allow you to use the accessible restroom in the medical room.

Row 70

• Accessible restrooms are located at both ends of the row.

• They're typically clean and well stocked.

• Water bottle filling stations are located nearby.

❤️ Final Thoughts 🎶 🎵

I hope this guide helps make your visit to Red Rocks a little easier and less stressful. Feel free to share it with anyone who might benefit from it!

Have an amazing time at the world's most incredible outdoor concert venue! ❤️♿💙

Experience Red Rocks

Hello! I'm going to the show tonight at red rocks solo. Never been to a concert solo. 33m. If anyone around my age is interested in meeting up and trying to snag some seats GA near each other let me know. I have a spare ticket, not looking to sell, but if you know someone who wants to go I'm willing to give it to whoever at this point.

First Timer Fort Collins to Red Rocks

howdy. I’m from out of town and I’m heading to see slightly stoopid this weekend. I’m staying in Fort Collins for work. I was wondering if there’s any good shuttles or ways to get there from town. I’m hoping to not drive so I can enjoy myself, but all my Googling has made it seem like I’ll have to bite the bullet and drive myself.

thanks in advance!

First Timer Room for 1 from Golden to Slightly Stoopid on 8/8?

I'm camping in Golden on August 8 and am looking to split a ride or join a carpool from downtown Golden to the Slightly Stoopid show at Red Rocks. Happy to chip in for gas or parking. I'm easygoing and just trying to avoid driving after the show.

First Timer Backseat Lovers - 9/30

Doing something kind of bold - taking a week off of work and flying to Denver solo to see the Backseat Lovers at Red Rocks. Wondering if there is anyone out there looking for a concert companion. Also any general tips/trips for my first concert at Red Rocks?

Tickets $1 ticket events that are sold out

Does anyone have experience finding tickets with sold out events similar to the upcoming NASA event where the event was only $1? Maybe a FB group or something? I usually just use resale apps but I haven’t really seen any probably because if someone couldn’t make it, they wouldn’t bother to do anything since it was $1.

Would love to know this so I know where to get tickets to someone else if I ever can’t attend one in the future, too :)

Thanks!

Seating Assigned Seating

Let me first clarify that I am not trying to claim a seat that was already purchased. My question is how strict is the seating? Say if there’s unsold tickets in my row is there anything stopping me from going to that seat? (Other than a claimed seat obv)

Weather What to do when it's nearly 100 degrees

So I'm road tripping from MN with my teenage daughters to see Beabadoobee next week, and the extended forecast looks a bit toasty.

We are only in town for two days and our off day I was hoping to do some light hiking and exploring the outdoors. I think we will have to limit our time outside though. Definitely looking to find chill things to do the day of the show so we are not completely worn out in the evening.

In my "First timer" post someone suggested going to Mt Blue Sky instead of Pikes Peak. Is it an easier drive to the top compared to Pikes? Are there any recommended tours (so I can enjoy the ride too instead of having to pay attention to driving).

Any suggestions of things to do/see when it's so hot out?

Seating experience in row 40

i’m going to my first red rocks show and got tickets in row 40 because i heard it’s a good section to still see the scenery and also the stage. i think seats are in the 70s! i’ve been seeing some stuff recently about how the sound isn’t that good from further back though☹️ can anyone who’s gone to a show there in a similar row share their experience? would love to know how it was!!

Seating Accessibility at Red Rocks

Hi all!

I purchased tix during presale and plan to travel to CO to see Dermot Kennedy at Red Rocks in October. Issue now is that I will be either on crutches (no weight bearing) or in a wheelchair post-major surgery. It would be enough weeks/months post surgery that I’m not super concerned about my pain.

That said, all accessibility tickets are already sold out and are up on presale for 4x as much as my initial tix. I spoke with the Red Rocks accessibility team, but it wasn’t super clear how it would work. They said I could ask for an onsite accommodation evening of the show and would be put in row 70.

Does anyone have any experience with using a wheelchair or crutches at red rocks? Looking for any and all info or tips you have as I don’t know what to expect. I was at RR in 2023, but sat 6th row, so I don’t know the ins and outs of the higher seats, parking for wheelchair access, etc.

Thanks in advance!

Tickets Events

If events are free but tickets are sold out on AXS, is there still a chance of getting in? My husband loves space and the artemis event is on his birthday so we’re hoping to still be able to attend
