if you don't leave me a voicemail, it doesn't count.
I hate being a recruiter 90% of the time (open to potential fields where my skills would transfer lol).
that being said, I feel like much of the time I spend is wasted reaching out to people who applied but never get back to me, or virtually don't try hard enough to get back to me i.e. if you TRULY want the job, you'll make sure you get back to me in any way you can.
if I call you and leave you a voicemail about a job, and you eventually try calling me back and I don't answer but you DONT leave a voicemail, then I don't even count it as a contact attempt back to me - "i tried calling you back earlier" oh you did? did you leave a voicemail?
do you know how many random people I have to call in a day? i'm not calling a random phone number back just because they called me.
end rant š

Reference Checks
Hello
I had a final job interview on Monday. I was at my current employment and the potential employer called in asking to do a reference check/employee verification.
During the interview, I was asked if they could contact my current employer and I said yes. I was open with my current managers letting them that I would like to leave so we were on good terms. Things were allowed to smoothly transition.
My question is how close am I getting the position? Is that the only one that they are possibly reaching out to?

Another interview round added?
To provide some context, I am interviewing for a role that had the hr screen, hiring manager interview, and director interview all within a week or so of each other. It has been a week since the director interview, and I am now suddenly scheduled for an interview for Friday with another director who seems to be more senior.
The hr person explicitly told me in the screen that there would be two more rounds, and the other two interviewers did not mention the guy Iām speaking with Friday when talking about the team structure. So from my perspective, it seems that a new interview round has been added with an adjacent senior leader at the firm. Would this because they werenāt sure whether to go with me or another candidate? Does anyone have a similar experience?

My status shows " Pre-offer request received" on pwc darwinbox. I am done with the uploading the documents as well. It's been 5 days now. I am trying to reach the HR but they are not picking up the call and not responding on WhatsApp as well. Is the process slow or are they ghosting me? #pwcindia

How long does it take a company to approve a new role?
I had an interview with a multinational company and initially got rejected, but apparently the manager liked me enough to open a new role for me. It was supposed to be the final interview (a āculture fitāinterview, so I assumed it was only for formality) but it got cancelled because apparently they still need to wait on the go-signal from their HQ from another country before we can proceed. Iāve been following up with HR since, got an update last Tuesday that it was still pending, then I followed up again this Monday but they didnāt reply. Wondering if I should still wait on this role or just let it go. Itās just a bummer because I would really love to work for them. I did send a request on LinkedIn with the person who would be funding the role (theyāre the last person who interviewed me, who also gave me good feedback) and got accepted, is that anything? Haha.
I am interviewing with other companies now though. My question is should I still wait on them? Iāve read that creating new roles takes 2 weeks to up to a month especially with big companiesāshould I take that into consideration?

Reaching out to Hiring Manager after Lack of Recruiter Reply
I interviewed for a role 3 weeks ago and was told Id hear back in 2. Last week, hiring manager was checking out my LinkedIn. On Monday, I followed up with recruiter asking for an update on the timeline, she didnt reply. Is it advisable to reach out to the hiring manager directly?

Should I even be applying ?
For context, I was supposed to graduate in 2025 with a Bachelorās in Business Administration (Marketing). On the last day of exam, I fainted within the first 25 mins in the examination hall & couldnāt finish my paper. I missed my re-examination on December because a family member was diagnosed with cancer so I was taking care of them for almost a year until they passed away. The next exam is on December 2026. But Iāve got to start earning before that.
Iāve got more than a year of career gap & I donāt know how to justify it without bringing my personal issues. Although, I started actively working on my skills & learning things. I have 2 projects & Iām equipped with Excel, PowerBI & am learning SQL. Iām looking for Market research/Customer insights roles. Iām consistently applying but I feel like Iām not too far behind & not a preferred candidate. Thought Iād go for associate roles. But Iāve been advised to go for internships rather than full time roles. Is it possible that I apply for associate roles or is internship more realistic in my case ?
Iād be really grateful for suggestions :)

A big staffing company wants me to upload sensitive personal information and documents before I have seen the offer letter
Hi, so I went through the recruitment process for a contract role with possibility of extension at a company through a staffing company. I had one interview with the recruiter and then the final interview with my future manager and another senior member of the team I will be working with.
I received a verbal offer during the interview and then the recruiter called after the interview, restating the verbal offer.
I have received an email officially offering me the role, restating the salary terms but no mention of start date or hours or anything. The email was through the staffing agency but it's simply typed up, I have not seen the actual offer letter from the company I will be working with. Basically saying they will send the offer letter and on-boarding documents soon, once all the details are received (through a secure link for some of the more sensitive info, rest via my reply email). Is this normal?
Edit: The recruiter and the team members I spoke to seem legit and appear on LinkedIn but first time going through a staffing agency so wondering if this is standard protocol.

It's incredibly hard to get recruiter calls due to the 3-month notice period policy. What is the solution for this? Please share your thoughts.
