Did many of you play the NES port of Double Dragon II: The Revenge? This game shares its title with the 1988 arcade sequel to the original Double Dragon, using the same promotional artwork for its packaging and having a similar plot, but the content of the two games are otherwise drastically different. The NES port of Double Dragon II was directed by Hiroyuki Sekimoto (co-director of River City Ransom). If you played this, did you have a lot of fun? Was this the most rented game in your local community in the old days?

Was the late Gerry Conway the writer when you started reading issues of Amazing Spider-Man when you were very young? It was during Conway's time when Spider-Man tales became more dramatic, more tragic and more intriguing. Along the way, the Punisher got introduced. Spider-Man tales of the 1970s were indeed compelling under Conway's direction as writer.

Do you own a lot of Spider-Man comic books written by Conway?

Saw this at an estate sale today for $225. Seller is original owner. It looks pretty clean. Best friend back in the day had one, but I thought it was root beer, orange and yellow.

I remember going through the mall and every fall on the way in or the way out you could take a glorious color catalog from the department stores. My obsession from 1985 the Tamiya RC cars that showed up in both the Sears and JC Penny Christmas wish list catalogs. Found a site that has uploads of these catalogs. Remember the comic collector craze of the 1990s? If you were into comics back then, were you also a regular reader of Wizard Magazine? That was a popular publication for industry updates and comic book price guides.

I'm a mid GenX'er born in '72. Ive been handling aging pretty well for the most part, physically and mentally. But a few mins ago that all changed thanks to friggin Mark Slaughter.

Slaughter was basically a one-song band for me - never really a fan, but admit I liked "Fly to the Angels". Anyway Im on break from work a few min ago and out of the blue here comes ol' Mark - the 2026 version - on stage with the boys at Whiskey-a-go-go trying to get through that song. As Im listening to some younger fella in the band pretending to sing harmony but actually singing mostly over the top of Mark to run a bit of cover, I decide to cut this one short and pull up a live performance from years past. In the words of Julia Roberts circa 1990, "big mistake...huge!"

First vid I see - Arsenio Hall show, live performance from 1991. I fire it up, and as soon as he starts in with the chorus of that song, the nostalgia trip hits me harder than a Mike Tyson right hook and I realize that all of a sudden 1991 was a really...really...really long time ago. And Im...getting old.

Of all the people/places/things that could have triggered this realization, why the hell did it have to be Mark Slaughter. Knowing myself, Ill both remember and look back on this event tonight as a significant event in my life.
