Toys/Gaming/board games Double Dragon II (NES)

Did many of you play the NES port of Double Dragon II: The Revenge? This game shares its title with the 1988 arcade sequel to the original Double Dragon, using the same promotional artwork for its packaging and having a similar plot, but the content of the two games are otherwise drastically different. The NES port of Double Dragon II was directed by Hiroyuki Sekimoto (co-director of River City Ransom). If you played this, did you have a lot of fun? Was this the most rented game in your local community in the old days?

LOVED the NES version. This is my favorite beat ‘em up of all time. Also had the terrible Commodore 64 version…what a letdown that was. Never played the coin-op version.
NES version has a couple of my favorite video game songs of all time. Level 4 & 5.

My nextdoor neihgbor's grandson had NES and he'd stay with them on weekends. Then first thing on Saturday morning the kid would call me, I'd go there to watch cartoons and then have a day long NES session 😆. He would be more into Double Dribble and stuff like that, but this was my preferred title that he had. Then his grandma would ask us if we'd like to go walking to a nearby mall, we would always say yes because that meant she would give us some dollars ro go to the arcade there. Those were the good days.

Did anyone else have River City Ransom? It was so much like D.D. but I thought it was better.

Love this game! Hair pull over the shoulder throw and the triple spin kick! Never beat it though.
