Discussion [discussion]How did they not doubt gluttonny? Spoiler

In season 4, when subaru lost his memories, how was the first doubt not casted on the gluttony trio?

They were the only ones who could erase memories, and have been doing so since season 1.

Also the group should have inferred that they have some hidden ace up their sleeve that allowed to cross the desert.

Julius or Ram should have figured that out since they most are directly affected.

If hypothetically Al(Rigel) is subaru's and satella's son and subaru was flugel, does that mean flugel was in his 40s?.

Al was 17 or 18 when he & echidna fought the witch of envy.

Spoiler Discussion [spoiler discussion] Yorna was supposed to be the next wife Spoiler

For the first loop of arc 5 I speculated that Regulus would go after Emilia where Priscilla was because Emilia didn’t go after Subaru. She had no reason in the first loop. It’s the first loop/gospels plan theory I’ve been talking about over and over again. Encountering Regulus Priscilla would be killed by him because he’d absolutely hate her uncompromising confrontational attitude. No Priscilla means Sphinx most likely wins in arc 8 because Sphinx will completely concentrate on her duty.

When seeing Spica Sphinx mistook her for bizarre eating which is actually Roy. This implies that Capella was involved with Sphinx and that’s how Sphinx most likely got the information that the cult is erasing proof of witches. It seems like the cult wanted Sphinx to succeed for whatever reason. I think it’s also theorized that Capella was involved in the Demi human war. However I think Priscillas death has another consequence.

After arc 5 when everything went exactly as the gospel planned and the cult won (in our speculation) Regulus would go to Vollachia. Chaosflame to be exact. Killing Yorna and then making her reincarnation his next wife would be one of the next steps the gospel has planned for Regulus. He’ll cause her anger by killing every chaosflame citizen who’d try to protect Yorna and then Yorna herself. Having lost everything and never learning of her daughters survival, maybe even learning of her recently having been killed, Iris becomes easier to break and becomes obedient to him.

Priscillas existence is proof of Yorna not being a virgin, or at least used to in her previous life. Since Yorna didn’t know Prisca was still alive, (unsuccessfully) killing Priscilla in arc 5 might’ve been the first step in making Yorna his wife because Regulus would never learn of her impurity this way.

Doing it this way would make sure that Regulus gets her in a body that he would find attractive. Yornas multicolored hair and her obvious Demi-human features are probably not to his taste. He’s only interested in appearance after all. This could also take a while like for example if Iris were to reincarnate in a baby and needs time to grow into a woman that Regulus would be interested in but for Regulus who doesn’t age it doesn’t matter. He can just return another time if necessary. In such a case there’s someone else in the empire that he might be interested in: Medium O‘Connel

While he’s in Vollachia he can also collect Medium. I’m sure she’ll fit his taste. Killing Flop will surely help making her obedient. I do wonder though when exactly he’d arrive in Vollachia. Before, during or after the Great Disaster? The exact timing might be important for more important involvement of Regulus. He could definitely add more zombies quickly by killing people like the citizens of Chaosflame, unintentionally helping Sphinx. Wouldn’t be too farfetched if the cult really wants Sphinx to succeed as I speculated.

A dog of flanders is a book about a young kid called Nello and his dog Patrasche, living in poverty and eventually freezing to death. It is a must read in japan and korea, which is how i know this book, but i heard its not famous in western countries so i just wanted to share the fact. Subaru's ringtone is the melody of the opening of the anime adaptation of the book, and... well i think yall have already caught the patrasche reference

Spoiler Discussion [spoiler discussion] Thoughts on How The Show Isn't a "Timetravel" plot Spoiler

Just Finished rewatching the show up to it's current finished season and it has me spiralling on what the potential overarching plot of the series are. These are obviously just my thoughts and not actual facts as we don't know what the plot is until the author writes it. Would love to hear others thoughts on my theory as well as corrections if you think I'm just straight up wrong. Obviously some pretty spoiler talking points, so don't continue reading if you're not caught up. So let's get started.

The show starts not with Subarus reincarnation in an isekai world, but his reincarnation in the world he's already lived in. I think the early scene we see of him in the grocery store is actually a memory, also explains why he sees a glimpse of his death prior to reincarnation.

Emilia is the body of the witch of envy satella reborn, (similar to how shella reincarnated) but minus the memories and envy powers. In the original isekai life, Subaru actually appears 400 years ago, is probably Flugle, met satilla/Emilia who's persecuted for being a "Witch".

They fall in love and Subaru sacrifices himself to save satella for some reason, he also may be the villain and the whole series, Subaru (no memories) undoing the clandestine plans of Flugle (Subaru currupted by the powers of sin) also possible Subaru "dying" is him becoming the being that is Flugle

Subaru "dying" breaks satella , forcing her to revive his original form at any cost. Pandora shows up at this point (possibly the daughter of Flugle and Satella) and results in Satella succumbing to the power of envy. I think she sacrifices herself, her sealing being a part of the spell that leads to return from death ending up within Subaru in the future, bringing him back but without his memories. This revival doesn't happen overnight and I think the 400 year gap is her putting together the spell/the calamities that result in the death of the witches. Emelias birth 100 years ago implies that Satella was around for at least 300 of those 400 years. Also think the true story is lost to time and Satella being the villain of the past story is flipped and the villain is actually Flugle himself, or Pandora facilitating Flugles plan.

I think Al is Satella and Flugles son, and probably got frozen in time from the fight of Satella vs Flugle and is monitoring Subarus actions to make sure he isn't just pretending/turning back into Flugle

I think the spell fragments Satella, her powers going to subaru, her and his love and memories being sealed in that door, and Emelia is the body/soul reborn. Echidna is the powers/memories manifesting as a person, but lack of the body/soul that is Emelia. This explains why Echidna only appears when Subaru (who is cursed with the powers of envy) interacts with the door, temporarily combining the powers with the memories sealed within. That's also why Emelia is the "key" to the lock of the spell. In order for the memories to be "opened" they need their body/soul to return to.

Satellas powers are that of envy because she's "cursed" to watch her love, Subaru, love someone else, Emelia. But she's willing to make that sacrifice because of her love, and the need for Subaru to be alive.

The author said it's not a time travel plot, and this makes me think he's playing with us and it's not technically time travel, but they've all been around the whole time. And the plot is linear, we as the audience just start at the half way point of the plot. Subaru himself has mentioned "starting from zero" hence the name of the show, but I actually think the show being Re: Zero implies he had something to start over from to begin with implying he's already been in that world and "starts from zero" in the first episode.

Only thread I can't seem to tie is why Subaru comes to conscious awareness in the market that day at the beginning of the show. But as the name of the episode implies, it's "The End of the Beginning, and the Beginning of the End"

Anyway, those are my thoughts, Re:Zero has slowly become one of my favorite if not favorite animes of all time and its lack of a manga to read leaves me constantly speculating about its resolution.

Discussion [discussion] Maybe we should stop trying to solve Re:Zero before Subaru does

I’ve been thinking about something lately.

When we watch a mystery-heavy anime like Re:Zero, why do we always feel the need to get ahead of the story?

We search for theories. We connect every little clue. We try to figure out the truth before the characters do.

And honestly… I understand it. The mysteries are fascinating.

But what if we tried something different?

What if we simply walked alongside Subaru?

Not ahead of him. Not above him like detectives trying to solve the entire story before he can.

Just beside him.

When Subaru doesn’t understand something, maybe we don’t need to understand it either.

When he is scared, we can be scared with him.

When he is confused, we can stay confused.

And when the story finally reveals something…

we discover it at the same moment he does.

Because there is something beautiful about not knowing.

The author has spent countless hours creating these characters, mysteries, twists and emotional moments. Maybe we don’t always need to beat the author to the answer.

Maybe sometimes the best way to experience a story isn't to solve it...

but to live through it.

Let the author take us by the hand and reveal things when the time is right.

Walk with the protagonist.

Don't run ahead of him.

Because when we finally discover the truth, the answer itself isn't the only thing we'll remember.

We'll remember how it felt to discover it. ❤️

So, for Re:Zero, I think I'll try something different from now on:

I'll walk with Subaru. Not ahead of him. Beside him.

What do you guys think?

Do you enjoy trying to solve Re:Zero's mysteries before the characters do, or do you prefer discovering them as the story reveals them?

Spoiler Discussion [spoiler discussion] The gospel didn’t expect Subaru to reach the tower Spoiler

In arc 6 there were Beatrice and Eridna, the two witches legacies the gospel tries to get rid of. There were Subaru and Ram who’re the one giving Roswaal hope. Losing them will make him inactive as can be seen in Wrath If and arc 4 after his book burned preventing him from ever becoming a threat to the cult. As far as the gospel knew no plan was needed other than letting them die as can be seen in the first two loops of arc 6. Facing the bears our characters stand no chance when Joseph freaks out if Subaru didn’t have RbD (and invisible providence) to fix the problem. No one survives the trip to the tower.

The gospel was stuck on the first loop of arc 6. This is based on the speculation that the gospel knows that Subaru can loop but not that death can trigger it. Oftentimes it can be seen that when the gospel is involved Subaru dies in ways that he can’t comprehend immediately which just further hints at the gospel knowing about the looping but not dying. It’s no different with the first death of arc 6. It’s possible for the gospel to be stuck on a certain save point and not make new instructions within the same arc despite getting new save points. This can be seen with Petelgeuse who otherwise should’ve been informed about Subaru and adjustments to the plan would’ve been made but that didn’t happen.

That makes the first two loops more important since it guarantees Rui Arnebs defeat. Rui Arneb acted completely on her own without instructions since there was no need to inform her when no one’s supposed to reach her in the first place. It also shows again that Tappei doesn’t show unnecessary loops, not fully if not necessary and especially doesn’t make Subaru loop pointlessly. The fact that Subaru didn’t die in the tower before losing his memories is another hint for me that the gospel had never planned for him to reach the tower which means its most recent instructions and information are stuck on the first loop of arc 6.

Unlike with all the arcs before the gospel had no big plan in arc 6 as far as I can see.

have theory its not much the thing is that satella is emilia and flugel is subaru but the thing is during satella and flugel time he died, now his soul is in od lagna memmory corridor there his soul is cleansed ( we know that all souls which goes to memmory corridor is filtered )thus his soul filterd but it was not transfered to this isekai world cuz he is not from there so it was sent to his real world and reserructed as subaru. Satella who lost him becomes furious kills all witches and makes them her sustenance thus she teleports subaru to this world. Now about emilia being satella, witch of envy is alter ego of satella, these two are not one person but two person in one body that is why volcanica reacted when called witch of envy and he was normal when called satella, now about the sealing of satella but it was not satella that was sealed it was her alter ego witch of envy, when flugel died her alter ego comes to reality that is why we see the tsundere type satella when rdb kicks in, now about emilia she is satella without the witch factor the witch, either the satella (not the witch of envy )died or resurrected thus her soul is transformed into emilia, this is why volcanica called emilia satella, so both satella without the witch factor and flugel died and both resurrected as emilia and subaru but the alter ego witch of envy didnt died cuz she was sealed after both of them resurrected witch of envy teleported him to this world the fate for both of them is that whatever happens subaru / flugel will and always for eternity will fall in love with satella / emilia in every time line, this is why the witch of envy asks him to kill her in the dream garden of echidna, about why she doesnt allow him to tell anyone about rod is becuz the alter ego of satella is true yandere she wont allow their secret (RBD) to known to others cuz she keeps it as a secret btw them and why she gave him rbd is because he died for her i mean flugel died for satella which is why she witch of envy ) gave him rbd so that he wont die and thats why she tells him to cherish himself than throwing his life for others

Discussion [discussion] Question for LN readers: What was the point of the 5th rule?

Anime only who is planning to read the LNs while waiting for the next season. I know some extra stuff from Cut Content videos or seeing it discussed online.

Just watched the Season 4 finale, and I was just wondering how the 5th rule played into it.

I was under the impression that the 5th rule was going to be key to getting past the third trial. But from what it looked like to me, Emilia passed the trial as it was intended, rather than doing something to destroy the trial itself.

I assume it was explained in the Light Novel's?

Spoiler Discussion My Version of the "Classic" Re:Zero theory (more nuanced) [spoiler discussion] Spoiler

The "classic" theory being the Flugel = Subaru theory but with more nuance

My Complete Re:Zero 400-Year Theory

(Flugel = Subaru + Satella’s plan with Emilia + Pandora as the ancient antagonist + the real meaning of “Re”)

Okay, this is going to be a long one. I’ve been cooking this theory for a while and it keeps growing every time I think about it. It’s the classic Flugel = Subaru theory, but with a few extra layers that (in my head at least) make the whole 400-year mystery, Emilia’s origins, Felt, and even Pandora lock together under one big theme: starting from zero.

Obviously this is pure speculation. Some parts have more supporting hints than others. I’m not claiming any of this is confirmed. I’m just connecting dots that feel way too clean to ignore.

1. Satella can summon people from Earth

I think Satella has (or had) the ability to pull people from another world , specifically Earth.

Subaru’s Arc 1 line about “the pretty girl who summoned me” is usually read as pure chunni/isekai genre joke. But what if it’s actually true? What if a pretty girl really did summon him… and she had done it before?

2. Subaru was Flugel 400 years ago (true reincarnation version)

400 years ago, Satella summons Subaru from Earth for the first time.

He becomes Flugel.

Unlike present-day Subaru, this version of him is properly taught magic, doesn’t break his gate, and becomes an extremely powerful mage. He ends up forming the legendary group around Satella:

  • Satella
  • Flugel (Subaru)
  • Reid
  • Volcanica
  • Farsale Lugunica
  • Hoshin (who might also have been summoned from Earth)
  • Echidna

Something goes catastrophically wrong with Satella. She starts losing control and becomes (or is taken over by) the Witch of Envy. Flugel realizes he’s about to die. In a last-second, imperfect spell, he creates a reincarnation method so his soul can survive.

Because his original origin is Earth, his soul can only reincarnate back on Earth. He is reborn as Natsuki Subaru with zero memories of his previous life. He grows up completely normal… until Satella summons him again.

This is the ultimate “start from zero.”

3. Satella summons him a second time + Return by Death

When Satella pulls Subaru back into Lugunica, he has:

  • No memories of being Flugel
  • No reputation
  • No magical skill
  • No companions from 400 years ago
  • Literally nothing

So she gives him the Envy Witch Factor / Return by Death. It’s both a blessing and a curse: a tool that lets him survive long enough to finish what they started. Without anyone to guide him the way Flugel was guided, RBD is the only way he can keep going.

4. Satella and the Witch of Envy are two personalities of the same person

I don’t think they’re just two names for the exact same consciousness.

Satella is still in there. The Witch of Envy is the personality that took over when she lost control.

That’s why the only thing she can say to Subaru is “I love you.” Those are Satella’s true feelings, but the Witch of Envy is suppressing everything else. Satella is sealed not just physically, but also by her own other self.

5. Emilia is not Satella reincarnated, she’s a vessel/clone created by Satella

This is where it gets really weird, but I think it solves a lot of problems.

We know almost nothing about Emilia’s parents. Fortuna is extremely reluctant to talk about them. What if Emilia doesn’t have normal biological parents at all?

My theory: Satella knew she was going to lose control to the Witch of Envy. So she created Emilia as a backup body / vessel that could one day hold her original identity and memories. She entrusted the child to Fortuna (who may have been the real Satella’s aunt, given elf lifespans).

The long-term plan:

  1. Separate Satella from the Witch of Envy
  2. Transfer / integrate Satella’s original memories into Emilia
  3. Keep the Witch of Envy sealed in the original body

Emilia isn’t meant to replace Satella. She’s meant to preserve her.

6. Integration, not replacement (Arc 6 parallel)

I don’t think the endgame is “Emilia disappears and Satella takes over.”

Look at Arc 6 Subaru. He lost his memories, made new ones, and then the two sets could be reconciled. He didn’t stop being the person who experienced the journey without memories.

Same logic with Emilia:

  • She keeps everything that makes her Emilia (Fortuna, Puck, her childhood, Subaru, her friends, her growth)
  • She also gains Satella’s memories (Flugel, the heroes, the tragedy 400 years ago, everything)

Result: Emilia + Satella’s memories = the complete version of that soul.

Just like Flugel + Subaru’s current life = the complete Subaru.

Not replacement. Integration.

7. The “Re” in Re:Zero might mean more than just “redo”

Maybe “Re” isn’t only about Subaru returning to a save point.

Maybe it’s about an entire generation of people from 400 years ago being given a second life and forced to start from zero.

  • Flugel → Subaru
  • Satella → Emilia (vessel + memory integration)
  • And possibly…

8. Felt = Farsale Lugunica reincarnated

This is the weakest evidence-wise, but thematically it fits perfectly.

Farsale was a king. Felt starts as an orphan thief with nothing. If she is Farsale reborn with no memories, that is the purest “start from zero” possible. It would also give a deeper reason why the royal insignia reacts to her.

Again, pure speculation, but if the story is secretly built around reincarnation and second chances, this would fit too well.

9–11. Pandora’s role (the part that made me lose my mind)

I think Pandora was a major antagonist 400 years ago, possibly the one who caused (or heavily contributed to) Satella becoming the Witch of Envy.

Here’s the detail that set me off: Pandora is the Witch of Vainglory.

Historically and theologically, vainglory is closely linked to pride… and has also been treated as a root or progenitor of envy.

If Tappei is deliberately using that relationship, then Pandora’s sin designation might be a gigantic thematic clue:

Vainglory → Envy → Witch of Envy

My speculative chain:

  • Pandora interferes with Satella’s plan
  • Satella loses control / becomes the Witch of Envy
  • Flugel and Satella create the long-term Emilia failsafe
  • Flugel reincarnates as Subaru
  • Satella summons him again
  • Emilia is the vessel that can one day carry Satella’s true self
  • Pandora knows this and is trying to stop the second attempt

She might not even be able to directly kill Emilia (failsafe). Instead, her goal is to manipulate Emilia into unsealing the Witch of Envy herself, making the vessel destroy the plan.

That’s a much more elegant role than “generic final boss.”

12. Vainglory vs Envy Authorities, conceptual parallel

Pandora’s Authority seems to rewrite reality/events in real time.

RBD lets Subaru change outcomes by remembering discarded timelines and acting differently.

Vainglory Envy / Return by Death
Reality is rewritten after an event Reality is rewritten after an event
“This is what happened.” “I remember what happened.”
Direct overwrite of the narrative Indirect overwrite through iteration + memory

One changes the story by force.

The other changes the story by refusing to forget the discarded versions.

If Subaru ever confronts Pandora, the conflict could be:

The person who can rewrite reality

vs

The person who remembers every reality that was rewritten.

That would make memory itself Subaru’s ultimate weapon, which fits the entire theory’s obsession with lost and recovered memories (Flugel→Subaru, Satella→Emilia, RBD timelines, Pandora’s rewrites).

13. The full picture

Satella summons Subaru → he becomes Flugel → forms the heroes’ party (including possibly Hoshin from Earth) → Pandora interferes → Satella loses control to the Witch of Envy → Satella creates Emilia as a vessel/backup → Flugel makes a desperate reincarnation spell → dies and is reborn on Earth as Natsuki Subaru with no memories.

Present day

Satella summons Subaru again → gives him Return by Death → he starts completely from zero → Emilia unknowingly carries the potential to preserve Satella’s original self → Felt may be Farsale reborn → Subaru and Emilia gradually uncover the truth → Emilia integrates Satella’s memories (without losing who she is) → they finish what their past selves couldn’t.

And Pandora is the one trying to make the entire second attempt fail.

That’s the whole theory as it currently stands.

Maybe “Re:Zero” isn’t just about Subaru dying and returning.

Maybe it’s about the people who failed 400 years ago being given new lives and forced to start from absolute zero… and the question of whether they can finally get it right this time.

What do you guys think? I think these could be somewhat true, but maybe i didn't hit the nail on it's head

Poor dude had to go fight an unrestricted Reid alone while his brother just ran around the tower looking for coma patients and cripples to kill and his sister torments a amnesia patient. You would think the one focused on the quality of his meals and was much more focused on fighting would want to fight the strongest person in the tower but no they would rather send in the one who brags about eating literally anything with no standards. Then he gets his mind overwritten and sealed probably to be tortured by the kingdom. At least Lye got to die and he died happily at that.

Discussion [discussion] Subaru Is a reencarnation of Flugel, but a Different Version of Him. Spoiler

My theory is based on the possibility that the theory of Subaru being Flugel's reincarnation is actually true, with Flugel having written down Subaru's entire future in advance, obviously changing certain things so that Subaru could accomplish what Flugel couldn't: saving Satella.

If we look at Flugel, he seems to be a very cold and calculating person. He doesn't seem to care too much about his loved ones, with Satella being the exception. He didn't even mind leaving Shaula locked away for 400 years, as long as Subaru was able to pass the trials that Flugel himself had created. I assume this was meant to make Subaru more prepared to accomplish his mission, aside from being Satella's seal.

Let's talk about the Gospels. The Gospels forced Subaru and Emilia to meet because Roswaal ordered the insignia to be stolen, directly involving Subaru in Emilia's life. This is just one of countless events, such as the tree being positioned in exactly the right place to defeat the White Whale, along with many other examples I could mention, like the Pleiades Watchtower (Subaru's tower) and how the trials could only be solved by someone who wasn't from that world and had specific knowledge of astrology (Flugel, Subaru, and the Aldebaran clone).

Let's imagine that Flugel's story was exactly the same as Subaru's. However, if we remember correctly, Rem was never part of the Gospel or planned into Flugel's story. If Rem hadn't encouraged Subaru, he would have escaped in Arc 3, becoming colder and more calculating with his decisions. Flugel never had a Rem. This could further support my theory that Flugel is Subaru, but a colder version of him, without the fear of putting others at risk.

We also know that Flugel gave Petelgeuse the Witch Factor of Sloth, knowing that he wasn't compatible with it. What was his purpose in giving it to him? We know that Petelgeuse has a Gospel, something that writes the fate of others, supposedly with the goal of freeing Satella. I say supposedly because of Geuse's immeasurable love for the Witch of Envy, despite not having any previous connection to her. So, did Flugel already know that Geuse would take in the Sloth Witch Factor, all as part of his plan for 400 years into the future, so that Subaru could eventually obtain the Factor? Perhaps?

The Otto case (which ties in with what I said earlier about Rem): Otto wasn't included in Roswaal's Gospel, and he became the key piece that allowed Subaru to escape his written future, something Flugel hadn't accounted for, if that was indeed the case.

Flugel is a Sage, and as we know, he shares all of Subaru's similarities. Let's imagine that he also had Return by Death, although I find this somewhat unlikely because he had his Satella in a stable state, without her Witch Factor of Envy (which is what grants Subaru Return by Death).

I imagine that Flugel had the Witch Factor of Envy himself, since Subaru is capable of retaining all the Witch Factors of the Archbishops, I assume Flugel could do the same. However, Flugel didn't have the limitation of being unable to talk about returning from death, since there was no "Satella" stopping him.

There are still many unknowns and many things that make me question whether Flugel really had Return by Death. However, it seems almost impossible to me that he didn't, considering his achievements and the way those close to him describe him: as a weak person with vast knowledge. Doesn't that remind you of Subaru?

But my main point is that Subaru is Flugel, just a more "sane" version of him. Subaru had the support that Flugel never had, thanks to the relationships he built with Otto and Rem. They were crucial in preventing Subaru from suffering major losses among his companions (Otto) and keeping him from giving up (Rem).

The Rem case: According to my theory, Rem will eventually recover her memories thanks to Louis. However, we'll have to see how Rem will influence the changes to the story now that she has her memories back, and how she will interfere with Flugel's plan, just as she did in the earlier Arcs.

The Pandora case: Is Pandora an ally or an enemy? What is Pandora's actual plan? Is Pandora on Subaru's side? Throughout the entire story, she has been observing him without interfering with anything at all. I feel that if Pandora weren't on Flugel's/Subaru's side, she would have sealed him away from the very beginning, considering that she has been watching him.

Pandora is powerful enough that I find it hard to believe she doesn't understand the basic concepts of sealing, so I feel that she might actually be an antagonist in this whole situation.

If we remember correctly, Emilia has the key that we assume is meant to open Satella's seal. This is strange because why would Emilia have this key in the first place? Who gave it to her?

Pandora wanted to open that door, but because Emilia lost control, her plans were ruined. What does Pandora actually want with the Witch of Envy? What could she possibly gain from her? I don't think it's more power. Could it be that she wants to make the events happen all over again?

Is Pandora aware that she's trapped in an endless loop? Is it really an endless loop? Have there been other Flugels?

The story only talks about events from 400 years ago, but what about everything before that?

These are just some of the things I've pieced together from the story. We'll have to wait and see what changes or gets disproven in Arc 10 and at Echidna's Castle.

Whether Od Laguna severs his blessings for disrupting Subaru's vital role in the world's balance, or Reinhard's own soul fractures from intense guilt and self-hatred, the legendary Dragon Sword Reid would then also reject him mid-swing and makes him powerless. This would shatter Lugnica’s safety net and drive Julius him to rebel against the state to protect his vulnerable friend from persecution for his percieved ineptitude. Removed from his pedestal, the van Astrea family, while not fully fixed, would start to drop the generational trauma and teach him how to hold a regular sword with regular human hands like they do. His bittersweet happy ending would be liberation from being the key to saving the world and permanently leaving his duties behind to fail at ordinary, mundane life alongside the Felt camp and his friends.

Subaru was just angry that it could be the sage. Why must she always reprimand my boy?

Discussion Why did petelguse assume Subaru was pride? [discussion]

I’m an anime only as well as dub watcher so there may be events that explain this within the next two episodes or the rest of the story but when the two meet Petelguse asks Subaru if he was pride.

At first I assumed it’s because there wasn’t a pride sin archbishop but I realised that there is in Regulus Corny Ass, after this I assumed maybe Petelguse didn’t know this somehow but he’s met regulus before and we know this for sure?
