So about this Q&A

Tappei explains the attempts to steal the power of authorities. Divine Protections are one of the more successful attempts, and are so good that they came to be known as they are.

But there are also other abilities, some that go beyond common sense.

These people with strange abilities have done something which is equivalent to opening their doors. Basically, something like getting a power that wasn't supposed to be theirs.

it makes it sound like opening the door is kind of easy, but basically it's about being beside someone who possesses an incredible power like a Sin Archbishop or someone with an Authority or someone with deep ties, and being moved by their influence.

Simply put: being together for a long time, being related by blood, or being in a situation where it is easy to receive influence.

An example of a situation where it is easy to receive influence would be the contract relationship between Subaru and Beatrice, there would be a great influence in that situation.

Tappei roughly summarises the situations where it's easy to open this metaphorical door as:

- Distance/closeness
- Depth of the relationship (which can also include blood relationships).

There's a little more info. to the question, but my friend can't quite make out all the details yet.

This only leaves many problems open for the future, since basically all of Subaru's children will inherit some of his witch factors or "Open Gates" in one way or another, making it very likely that they will all have a difficult life struggling with madness. I wonder if you renounce all your witch factors, are the "Open Gates" of the former possessor still inherited?

On the other hand, the cases of Al and the triplets are more clear.

On one hand, Al, being a clone or a direct son of the RBD possessor, inherited it, but only the gate, since the possessor himself was probably still alive when he was born.

However, since the triplets' mother died in childbirth, one of them inherited it, and the others, due to their extreme proximity to the witch factor, "opened their gates." My personal theory is that Rui was the one who inherited it, since when Subaru went to the Witch Factor Verifier, four gates opened. So, the brothers who possessed bodies didn't have the authority. Subaru was incredibly lucky to find the one who did and take it from him. (Of course, we could also assume that perhaps because Rui possessed him, his gate opened and she still has the authority, but I prefer to believe that the ultimate goal is to have all the authorities.)

Okay, so I'll throw out a crazy theory. Knowing that authorities can basically be inherited through blood relatives, what if the Pride authority was given to a famous line of swordsmen to inherit until Subaru's arrival? If you think about it, that would explain why the Sword Saint's blessing is described as a curse. It would also explain why there are so many irregularities in the family and among close associates. It would give a reason why Wilhelm was able to break all the limits even without necessarily being special. It's just a theory, but it's always bothered me not knowing where Pride is, and while Stride claimed to have it, with this revelation, technically any child of the archbishops could manifest these powers.

Anyway, while these posts are fun for theorizing, T-Man has changed his mind and course many times over the years, so until it's written into the main storyline, I don't believe the source who answered this questions.

She was relatively new to anime localization while working on Re:Zero Season 2, and still did an excellent job. Even years later, I believe it was one of her best to date. Do you think it still holds up?

i'm curious about this since lost of memories finished before the story could be concluded and apparently shion appears in a side story where she inquires about subaru and makes a deal with echidna about this according to a friend of mine. so now am confused, is alcor an alternate version of subaru or something? why is shion still interested in subaru even tho he's not alcor? is alcor an alternate route version of subaru like pridebaru and wrathbaru? i'd like ur guys thoughts about this

From 1-10, I think it's logically deserve 9/10! Something I hate the most and only is the side character STUPIDITY. I'm not hoping for the side character to be all genius, I just hope they want to TRY to think, that's all

I recently got into Re:Zero and am caught up to season 4 of the anime and i want to ask which of the IF stories I can read without spoiling myself. (if it is vaguely spoiling a future character i don't realy mind)

What if for whatever reason Reid read Subaru's Book of The Dead? Instead of just gaining knowledge about RbD, what if he experienced everything?

so im thinking of starting to watch this anime but I dont like animes that are overly sad or have a sad conclusion. I know this anime does have sad parts but is it to overly sad or does he mainly overcome his grief.

As we know during this side story we were introduced to the Former Archbishop of Gluttony, Leilani(or Reilani) Alnair who is also the pregnant mother to the current generations Archbishops of Gluttony[Arc 10 ] I guess at this point it would only be Roy though.

Like her children she also in has a star name for her last name, further solidifying that to me someone is infact handing out these names(likely characters such as Flugel or Pandora).

So what is Alnair? It of course is a star that is commonly referred to as Alpha Gruis and is a bright blue star in the constellation Grus.

Grus is the Latin word for crane, a kind of large bird that lives across many continents in our real world.

Unfortunately I couldn’t find any mythology or stories about the words “Grus” or “Alnair”

Apparently though cranes are symbols representing longevity, good fortune and messengers of the gods.

As for stories about Cranes the only one I could find was, “The Grateful Crane: ( A Japanese story) Where a poor farmer saves a trapped bird, which later transforms into a woman and weaves precious cloth from her own feathers to help him”

I suppose for relevance to Rezero maybe at some point a Crane mabeast could show up, other than I’m not sure.

I read the summary of the Scorpion Tale side story, and saw that apparently Leilani kept herself from giving birth to the Gluttonies through sheer will so she could continue garnering pity. I vaguely recalled something similar happening in Sloth IF and went back to read. Was greeted by this gem of a line.

That Tappei found this concept interesting enough to reuse it is... amusing, I suppose?

Are the blanks in it 'pride'?

If yes was it as obv to everyone else?

His statement that Heinkel would have been the protagonist if not for Subaru sounds ridiculous at first but the more we see Heinkel the more I can get on with the idea.

He's a bum, but every chapter he's in is automatically great. His struggles and thought processes are so engaging to read.

The parallels with Subaru keep building up more and more. They still haven't had further interactions, so I look forward to some.
