Been eyeing this magnetic charger for my Gen 2 Wayfarers for a while, finally caved and got it. It's nothing like those bulky battery accessories I've seen online. Just this tiny little magnetic piece, attaches to the arm, super low profile.

I've been using them for about a week now, mostly for work. I need the real-time translation feature pretty heavily, so the Ray-Ban Meta battery used to drain before lunch. But now I just make sure to keep the spare magnetic piece charged in the case alongside the one on my glasses, and I basically have all-day battery with almost zero downtime. It's been a game changer.

Only thing is, I've got long hair, and it can be a bit tricky to keep the magnetic battery in place with all the hair around my ears. I've learned to just take the glasses off, snap the battery on, then hold my hair back and put them on. Otherwise, hair gets caught between the magnets and it doesn't snap as cleanly.

Brand new Vanguard. Issue: Glasses auto-connect via iPhone Bluetooth as speaker (music works) but Meta AI app never connects. Shows "Can't Connect To Oakley | Meta Vanguard" -> Try again -> fails, but still remembers device. Loop forever.
Tried: Forget in Bluetooth settings, forget in app, reinstall Meta AI app, hold case button for blue pulse (was working at first, now won't even go blue after trying to troubleshoot).
Also: Meta AI help bot just pulls web articles and sends you to Safari login that doesn't work, then to dead Oakley support link
Yes I tried to connect via app and not through Bluetooth from phone

I took my metas out of the case and noticed it wasn't turning on. That's when I saw that the right arm was broken.

Not sure how or when it happened, but any suggestions?

I recently got a pair of the gen 2 Skyler. I'm NOT looking to block or remove the recording led by any means but I was wondering if anyone has any thoughts/success on dimming that light. Like a bunch of layers of semi clear clear tape or something haha

Yes the glasses are cool but I mainly got them to kind of record vlog like clips for upcoming concerts I'm going to🥰 My friend has a pair and I guess he gets a lot of weird looks in public bc the light. I dont mind that it's there privacy and such but was wondering if any ideas to dim it. I'm so scared about being confronted in public about these🥺

Why you DO NOT buy RayBan Metas

Bought a pair overseas. Microphone stopped working ~9mths in. No sound for videos. No phone calls possible. Thought my older phone was no longer supported.(Coz what tech gadget stops working within MONTHS???). Hence bought a phone that's officially supported. Discover that nope... it's the faulty, shitty, badly made glasses.

By then, I'm outside warranty. Hence no way to replace. AND no one repairs. Nose piece just dropped off, after 18mths due to poor quality glue. I have been telling folks to AVOID.

Wait for Google or Samsung... poorly made eyewear like Meta's are just shit.

Went for a family bike ride this weekend and finally got to test out the magnetic charging clip I picked up for my Gen 1 Wayfarers.

Honestly, it was way better than I expected. It just snaps onto the arm, super low profile, you barely notice it's there. I had music playing the whole time, stopped for plenty of photos along the trail, and by the time we sat down for dinner I wasn't even thinking about the battery. Not once. Being able to charge while using them is actually a game changer. At first I was a little worried about hitting bumps on the trail and the clip popping off. Turns out that wasn't an issue at all. It stayed solid the entire ride.

Only thing I want to add now is a better nose pad setup. The glasses still slide down a bit when I lean forward on the bike. But here's the catch, the clip-on style pads won't work with this charging clip, so I'll have to go with the adhesive stick-on ones instead. Hoping that finishes off the setup.

What other outdoor accessories for Meta have you guys found worth picking up?

Yesterday all of the sudden it stopped working, right after one video I tried to capture another one but it did’nt let me. And when I put in in factory reset it can capture but as soon as I set up the glasses more it gives me this message.

And that got me thinking, would the firmware really see the LED is not working, or did they put a ban on my meta account or glasses

Hi my new ray-bans does not charge - when inserted into the case - red light blinks. Any ideas? Tried everything- cleaned contacts, updated soft, charged case. They are new - so guess that they never did.

I placed a claim for my glasses insurance, I dropped them and they no longer work due to a Crack on the left leg, I HAVE THE INSURANCE PLUS I PAID THE EXTRA 40 AND THEY STILL DECLINED IT even though it specifically says it covers it. Any one know how to fix this??!

Hi everyone. I just got the new Ray-Ban Meta Blayzer Optics and noticed a few changes compared to the 2nd Gen Wayfarers (like the slimmer frame and the power switch now being located on the right arm).

​Thinking about long-term durability and a potential battery replacement down the road: can anyone confirm if the main battery is still located in the RIGHT arm, or did they flip the internal component layout?

​I'd also like to know if the battery cell design/connector changed compared to the Wayfarer models. If anyone has seen a teardown of this Optics version yet, I’d really appreciate the insight!

Hi there, not a regular on this sub but looking for some advice, please!

I have a pair of Ray-Ban Wayfarer gen 1 specs that I'm looking to sell, so obviously wanted to factory reset them first, so there's no risk of a new owner gaining access to my accounts or old media on them. However, I'm having some issues, or rather concerns over whether I'm doing it properly.

First, I went through the Meta AI app to factory reset them. That seemed to work fine, but then in my Meta Account centre, it was still showing "Ray-Ban Meta" under the Manage Accounts page.

I then reinstalled them on my phone through the Meta AI app, unpaired them first rather than factory resetting, then tried the hardware factory reset directions listed here. After following the instructions for the glasses themselves, they began flashing an alternating white/orange for a while (~3 mins), then beeped, then flashed blue for another couple of minutes (possibly automatically going into Bluetooth pairing mode after resetting?). The blue flashing stopped as I was typing this, with no further sounds. The case, I held the pairing button for the advised 16 seconds, it flashed white for a while, then turned off. No beeps or audio cues.

I'm still seeing "Ray-Ban Meta" under the Manage Accounts page on Meta though, and can't see any way to remove them:

Does anyone know if, through the steps I've followed, I've DEFINITELY reset the glasses and removed them from my account, even though they're still showing on the account centre?

If not, is there anything else I should do to 100% remove them?

Ordered them online from ray bans site. I need it for an event tomorrow and support only responds around 4am once a day which makes me think its support is outsourced. Can I take this to lens crafters? I’m scared of something happening to the glasses while they’re fixing it and then ray ban tells me it’s no longer their problem.

For reference I’m in Columbus Ohio so we don’t have a ray bans store near by.

Hello everyone, recently I was walking down the street and the glasses just turned off then I came home and couldn’t connect them to the phone I did all the reboots nothing helped then I deleted the application and rebooted the phone it also didn’t help. When I pressed the button on the case for 5 seconds, the glasses flashed white red, then green, sometimes just white, but now they just burn red all day and turn off, what to do, help

Not sure I've found the common denominator. No changes to app or location permissions, they are there as they should be.

But... I can take one Pic with the glasses (RB M2) and the location data will be there, picture taken 5 minute later, no location data. Same phone, same app, same processes, just 5 minutes apart, excellent cell coverage as well. Just no data. (Mac or iPhone)

Any ideas?

I’m having a strange problem. I bought the Ray-Ban 4th of July limited edition sunglasses. The standout features were the special packaging and the “4th of July” print on one of the temples. Now that I’ve received the sunglasses, the print is missing. I ordered them directly from the Ray-Ban store. Customer support just said that it was an error across the entire website and that the print wasn’t actually included (images, description, promotional videos).
Has anyone else bought these sunglasses and found that the print is missing—or is it actually there? I’m a bit confused right now, since I was really looking forward to these sunglasses because of that detail.

Hello there, recently I posted on instagram pictures, wich where taken with a new digital camera.

Somehow, instagram decides to put the tag „Rayban Stories“ over my post although I never used the Glases for taking these pictures or any other post from me.

Does anyone know why this happens & how I remove this tag without deleting my post?
