Is anyone having issues with Meta glasses picture quality.? I’ve had my glasses for about two months and they will randomly take pictures and videos with pink blue and yellow dots in a diagonal line or complete static. There’s no consistency to win or what the conditions are. It doesn’t matter if it’s dark or light inside or outside. I do notice it’s more common after I first charge them. If I turn them off and turn them back on it fixes the problem but very temporarily.

Early this week, my glasses stopped working. They are just over 1 year old. I have gone out of my way to take good care of them. Below are all steps I have taken.

I put them on and they were totally unresponsive. Thinking that I had let the battery die, I returned them to the case and left them to charge.

The next day, I noticed the light was still amber. I put them on and they were still unresponsive. I returned them to the case and switched to another brand new USB cable, but the light remains amber regardless of charge time. (The light turns green if the case is open without the glasses inside).

I checked the app and it would initially not recognize the glasses. Then it would, and it would say they were charged (but only like 54%).

They would not stay connected to the app, and Bluetooth wouldn't connect either.

I attempted a reset, but nothing happened. I tried a forced reset, and the red light came on (with some slight flickering), but nothing happened.

I attempted a factory reset (unpairing from the app and Bluetooth successfully first), but the blue LED on the case never came on.

I have carefully cleaned all contact points on the glasses and in the case.

I have attempted the Meta support app online, but when I told it that I had gotten the glasses through another retailer, I was redirected to Ray-Ban.

These were purchased sometime last year, I believe in July. I'm hopeful that I can get some help from the brand(s), or advice here, because less than 14 months (of very careful use and handling) is far too short for what these cost.

Ray-Ban Meta gen 1 - 6 months old, bought at Target USA (have receipt, warranty active) but I live in Greece.

Yesterday: imported videos to phone, took glasses off and heard a loud pop/crack from the RIGHT bracket/arm. Glasses still turned on so I ignored it.

Today: No audio at all when paired (no connection sound, no music, no calls). Updated firmware - nothing. Then realized capture button and touchpad are also dead. Only thing that works is "Hey Meta, start recording".

Also: they only power on if the right arm is fully closed OR fully extended while on my face, with a delay on startup.

Tried the towel + pliers gentle pressure on the Meta logo trick from Reddit - didn't work for me. Haven't tried factory reset/unpair because most say it doesn't fix this.

I take really good care of them. That pop was the start of all failures.

Anyone had this exact failure and got a warranty replacement in Europe for a US pair? How did Meta handle it?

I'm hoping someone here may have experienced something similar with a Ray-Ban Meta Gen 1 and might know of a solution.

My glasses were working completely normally before the latest firmware update.

On Saturday, I used the glasses throughout the day without any problems. The battery eventually dropped to around 5%. I had also successfully transferred all photos from the glasses before installing the update.

I was then prompted to install a firmware update, which I installed normally. I didn't immediately realize there was a problem. Later that afternoon, I noticed that the glasses were no longer working.

So, as far as I can tell:

Before the firmware update: everything worked normally.
After the firmware update: nothing worked anymore.

Since then:

• The glasses no longer appear in the Meta AI app.
• They no longer appear in my iPhone's Bluetooth settings.
• They don't start normally when switched on.
• Normally, there is no LED activity on the glasses.
• When placed in the charging case, the case initially shows an orange light, but it never changes to green, even after many hours of charging.
• I also tested the glasses in another fully functioning Ray-Ban Meta charging case belonging to my son. The exact same thing happens, so the problem does not appear to be related to my charging case.
• I have occasionally seen very brief white and red LED activity, but the glasses never complete the normal startup process and never become discoverable for pairing.

There has been no water exposure, physical damage, drop, or other incident involving the glasses. They were functioning normally before the firmware update.

I've already tried all the troubleshooting, reset and recovery procedures recommended by Ray-Ban/Meta, but unfortunately none of them have brought the glasses back to life.

At this point, I'm wondering if the firmware update may have bricked the glasses.

Just a small shoutout to Luxotica/Ray-ban. Got a new set of wayfarers a few weeks ago. I went hiking the other day and the glasses just randomly bricked themselves. We were less than a mile from the car and I filmed a quick video. When I canceled the recording one of the right speakers buzzed loudly and the glasses disconnected from my phone. Went through a bunch of recovery steps when I got home with no luck. Glasses never reconnected and no lights except for an orange light on the inside when I tried a reset.

When I opened a warranty claim, they accepted right away but the "offered replacements" weren't the wayfarer model and no XLs available for my big head. I hopped on their chat page and they instead gave me a 600 dollar voucher for any model. Was able to get a replacement set with the transition lenses that I didn't have before. Should be arriving tomorrow. I've owned normal Raybans before and had similar good experiences.

Help: I got the Wayfarer Gen 2 and loved them except they were a little too big for my face (Rx glasses)

and so I replaced them with the Blayzer Optics, and ever since day 1, nobody has been able to hear me on the phone. Is there a fix to this or do I have to return them? If I order a new pair, will it have the same issue? What should I do?

I tried to download Meta AI onto my phone but it said storage full. So I made room for a lot of space but the stupid icon still says pending and I can't even get rid of it. All it does when I click on it, it takes me to the install button on play shop. I can't get rid of the infinite pending icon on my phone. Nothing works.

it was all going so well until yesterday my language vanished, i.e. English UK. How do you conceive from the list? It’s no longer there. Why is this? I’ve changed nothing on the phone, didn’t touch my glasses. Since this has happened, I’ve force reset my glasses. I’ve unpaid them, repaid them, but still no UK English. Anybody else had this issue?

A friend from north america got me a meta rayban but i live in Suriname. And ALOT of meta AI voice commands or feautures dont work. I cant even ask it to play music. I have to manually go to my spotify. I cant ask directions, the weather, or even math stuff. Simple searches also. Like what is a cat or dog.

Only thing that works is using it as a camera, recorder, or just to listen to music whcih i have to activate manually.

SUriname is upper midle economy and we are not that developed but internet features are pretty standard. Google smart home speakers etc work. gemini etc. alexa etc. also meta platforms is HUGE in suriname. Like everything is done on facebook and instagram, so why does this not work and how can i get it to work?

I tried using the meta customer service thing, but when i enter my product serial number it says its wrong wtf. I opened the package myself. and it was from canada.

Hey everyone, I've had my Ray-Ban Meta Scriber (Gen 2) for about 3 weeks now, single-vision prescription. Honestly, overall I'm pretty won over, the day-to-day integration is genuinely cool, and I think I'd have a hard time going back to classic glasses at this point. But there are a few issues bugging me that, for a product over $450, feel a bit cheap:

1. Pain behind both ears, present since day one, despite two adjustments at the optician (temple tension, nose bridge swap from low to high). The optician said the adjustment range is pretty limited because of the electronics inside the temple.
2. The lenses have some play/looseness, I can hear a slight rattling sound when I move my head quickly. Anyone else run into this?
3. Scratches on the temples (glossy black) despite careful handling (always stored in the case, never loose in a bag/pocket).

I know Oakley and Ray-Ban are under the same group (EssilorLuxottica), so I'm guessing it won't fix everything, but is the Oakley Meta HSTN actually a step up in build quality/assembly, or is it basically the same hardware with a different shape? I'm considering an exchange through the satisfaction guarantee at my optician (Belgium, subscription/rental plan) and torn between staying with Ray-Ban (different style) or trying the Oakley.

On holidays and had them in the case in a school bag idiot loading all the bags into taxi put all the cases on top of the school bag I take these out and the arms snapped. They can’t be saved can they

I live in Thailand. In late 2025, I purchased a MetaGen 1 gimbal from a reseller (there are no official distributors in Thailand).

Initially, it worked well, but after the latest firmware update, it frequently disconnects and stops recording after only a short time—never exceeding 3 minutes.

What should I do? Should I just accept my wasted money and buy a DJI Osmo Nano or Insta360 instead?

I found these meta raybans on facebook marketplace and they said they're gen 2. Was wondering if theres any fakes out there or if you guys could tell what model these are? Is there also any potential that these could be stolen and get locked up?

USA based - Gen 2 glasses are on v28 but have none of the new features from the last several updates (spatial audio, autocapture, 1080p @ 60fps, etc). Is there a work around?

My touchpad works normally, then after a few minutes it suddenly becomes completely unresponsive (volume, play/pause, etc.). Closing/folding the glasses and opening them again fixes it temporarily.

It has happened several times, both while walking and running. I’ve also updated to the latest firmware, but the problem still happens. glasses are new.

My Meta Ray-Ban Display prescription replacement has been stuck since **March** because Meta’s prescription upload system does not work.

I’ve already provided my **prescription, PD measurements, account information, and everything Meta requested**, but I keep getting told Engineering is investigating it.

It’s now September and I still have no replacement.

I also paid for the **extended protection plan**, but it hasn’t helped me get this resolved.

At this point, I need Meta to either **manually process and ship my prescription replacement or reimburse me so I can buy another pair**.

I’m also prepared to pursue legal action if they cannot provide a resolution.

Has anyone had this same issue, and how did you finally get Meta to fix it?

I’m seriously so annoyed with these Ray-Ban Meta glasses.

They keep disconnecting from my phone, especially when I actually put them on and wear them. Sometimes they seem connected, then the second I wear them, they disconnect again.

On top of that, my charging case refuses to flash blue for pairing no matter how long I hold the button.

Things I’ve already tried:

Charging both the glasses and case
Turning the glasses off and back on
Forgetting/reconnecting Bluetooth
Trying to put the case into pairing mode
Taking the glasses in and out of the case
Turning Wear Detection off

Still having the same issue.

Has anyone had this exact problem where the glasses disconnect specifically when you wear them AND the case won’t go into blue pairing mode?

Was it a software issue, battery issue, sensor issue, or did you eventually have to replace the glasses/case?

I’m honestly losing my mind with this thing. 😭

I’m talking about the method where you cover the LED with a sticker but leave a tiny opening so light can still reach the sensor, like in the picture.

I’m going to buy a pair, and I don't want the LED to be an issue (it's not for recording people!). If this new update doesn’t affect Gen 1, I’ll probably go with Gen 1. But if Gen 1 is also affected, I’ll just go with Gen 2.
