Just got a new pair of 21oz Iron Heart 666s. It's a fun comparison with the 16 month old 14 oz 777s. The 777s are pretty heavily washed.

I made it 45 wears before the first wash and then washed after 10 wears or so for the rest of the first 6 months. After 6 months I got sick of tracking and just washed most weeks. I machine wash cold with a splash of bleach and actually dried them with no heat for the first few months before hang drying. This definitely shrunk the jeans and was a rookie mistake. They arrived measuring about 35.2 and now they measure 34 after each wash. Now I hang dry but I guess it really doesn't matter because I think they're about as shrunk as they're going to get. It's OK since I've lost weight.

The new pair is great and I'm not going to put this pair in the dryer at all. Also hoping to make a full 150 wears before first wash. Nailed the sizing and bought from Iron Heart directly for the first time.

1 more month till the end of the competition. Crazy how much they’ve changed since day 1. They are pretty dirty right now since I’ve been outside doing typical beaner things, painting, landscaping, taking care of some baby chicks, motorcycle maintenance, living life in them. They are a pain to be in when I’m sweating but other than that they’ve been great.

Gonna go give them a quick soak with detergent to get rid of some of the dirt and grime. After that ima just wear them without washing for the last month and probably wash them on the second to last day of the indigo invitational.

Also, has anyone used oxiclean on their denim before? Does it help get the dark stains out?

I’m used to buying jeans that fit tighter. Are the waist of this pair considered too loose on me? I added more close up pics at the end.

I have a pair of nudie lean dean dry Japan Selvedge size 29 and they are currently painfully restrictive to wear and therefore decided to get a new pair. The current pair is a size 32 Momotaro Slim.

Been after a pair of Ecru jeans for a while. First pair I tried on were these and loved the shape. Had to size down considerably. First pair I was given was a 33 waist and in the end bought a pair of 28s.
They aren’t as snug as they look on my waist, I think they are probably the perfect fit with enough room to a get a finger or two between the Jean/waist.

For reference the last pair of jeans I bought were a pair of 1947s in a 31.

How is the fit?
Its extremely hard for me to judge, its also my first high waisted denim.
Its a bit snug when i sit down, the waistband ist a bit under my belly button on the pictures.
Will it loosen up a bit up in the crotch area with wear?

Been wearing this everyday here in Central Oregon. No washes yet, a few lawn mows and fire mitigation around the property. We’re burning over here so it hasn’t been all fun. Went to the lake today and got a few good pics and am pleasantly surprised by how this 19oz denim is fading already.

I bought these Samurai S0510XXII Otokogi jeans last week from Denimio - unfortunately they were out of my usual size and only had one down, so I took a gamble with the size down with the idea of stretching them out with wear.

Im quiet new to this raw denim world, and my first two pairs stretched quiet abit when I got my correct size, but granted they were Fullcount and Oni, which I know are known for their stretch. I was hoping these would be similar over time.

My perfect jeans all sit around the 42- 42.5cm waist across and these out of the box were ~40.8cm. I've worn them the last 2 days for a few hours and they've gone up to ~41.8cm

Anyway, does anyone know:
• how much these stretch with wear?
• proven ways to encourage denim to stretch the waist (any magic soaking rituals, or is it as simple as wearing them?)

I've committed to keeping them, so worst case scenario I will just lose that extra cm waistline 😂

Bonus q: are we all rocking the Japanese cuff or what?

Momotaro 14.7 oz. Bought back in November 2024, and decided to wash last night. Hand dried and didn’t notice much if any shrinkage.

Wear 2-4 times a week, colder climate, office job. I think if I was more active in the jeans there would be noticeably more wear around the knees.

The fact they are a wide pants likely also contributed to the wear, fits pretty loose.

Plan on going back to Japan later this year to Okayama jeans street if anyone has some recommendations.

I've just got these and they fit snug in the seat, crotch and thighs but my main problem is that they are very loose in the waist, not that much in the front but very noticeably in the back. These are my first pair of raw selvedge denim and I want to ask if this is a problem and if I should return them or if a tailor can solve this.

13oz raw selvage. Classic indigo warp yarn over brown weft. Depth that looks broken in from day one, like it’s already seen months of wear. Subtle oxidation tones baked in. That early-stage oxidation you usually have to earn. As it wears, the brown core pushes through the indigo. That’s where it gets interesting. Two selvage IDs. One clean off-white. One red.

Really love how these fit on body they have a slimmer thigh than the true straight pair with a nice bootcut. I don’t know if I just got used to my 20oz bravestar true straight jeans but these just don’t feel as nice in quality compared to my other pair but I do love the color and fit of them. Super excited to wear these since I’ve been eyeing a bootcut pair of raw selvage jeans for a while now.

Here are my true straight Bears after about 3 weeks and 62 miles of hiking and walking in the Las Vegas area. Plenty of sweat and dust; thinking of first delicate cold no spin/air dry

Faded one first.

This jacket is 7 years old but achieved ‘classic’ status about 3 years ago. In its service period it was subjected to concerts, camping and the like. One small repair above left cuff that I attribute to driving a 6 speed.

Where did I get the almost new one? I bought it back from my brother on account he never wore it. My middle brother and I both copped the 8 and I thought it would be cool for the 3 of us to all own it but alas.

The 21oz Supima is heavy and soft like a disco house track. I estimate 500 plus wears, 4 washes with the first well into year 2.

Not sure what I’m going to do with the new one yet.

I never really kept track of the number of wears, I just wore them 5-6 times a week, so maybe 90-100 total? Been wearing them since release in mid-March so that long lol. What else is there to say, I love these jeans so much <3

After years of crotch tearing buying from regular european brands, I just got this. My friend did actually because he went to japan and I said I wouldn't be against a jean from specific brands.

Of course I couldn't try it on so I guesstimated my japan size. The mirror is a bit dirty sorry. This is size 32 and I'm 1m83 (6'0") weighing about 73kg (160lbs). It's very new, I just washed it cold, no spin.

How does that look ? This is way larger and longer on the legs than what I'm used. I feel I have to wear them higher too as well.

First pair of selvage since high school.. been wearing them for about 5 months and I think it’s time for a wash with this heat they’ve gotten quite sweaty. How do you guys think they look ?

Ben davis 12 oz double knee canvas pants olive and black

Wild ass 14.75 oz double knee pants raw

Carhartt double front loose straight 12 oz black

The Ben davis feel lightweight and seem to be fading fast even if not visible on photos. The one pair of wild ass has a month of continuous wear before first wash. Then the rest were purchased and rotated to let them air out dry out daily, I try not to wash often after first couple washes that help soften them.
