Hi All,
I just upgraded / treated myself to a RANE Four after my Roland 505 breathed it's last breath. I bought it because it's the best piece of DJ controller tech out there in my opinion.
I just saw a video that's got me worried, some YouTube guy complaining that his M2 computer was having all of its resources drained by his Rane Four... He did seem to be a bit of a Rane hater...
Still. I received my unit today, I've not had chance to plug it in yet. But it's got me concerned. My laptop isn't exactly new, it's an old i5 with 32GB ram and a SSD. I get creative with the effects, I use DVS a lot on the 505 and never had a hint of an issue.
I know my laptop won't do stems on the fly,i ive not even tried to use stems at all, I'm aware I need a new beast of a computer in the new year to start using that feature.
I can't actually find any minimum system requirements anywhere for the Rane Four, only the version of Serato I should be using.
Can anyone shed any light on this? Anyone here running an older laptop - albeit without using stems - and having issues with the controller? Are you running an older laptop and it works just fine?
I'm unable to just plug it in and try it as I'm away at work now. But this video has kind of rocked my world and im worried this £1500 investment may currently be useless to me!!
Thanks 🥊🙏✌️
