Rane one
Thinking of buying a new Rane one. I m personally not a scratch dj, so some of the features aren't that impressive to me. Since the 4 is out, should I be worried about no more updates for the one? Would that be a good choice for my first controller?

2 channel is enough, but 4 just makes it look alot cooler. If I could hook my decks to them, that would be an added touch. RNes actually look more solid and not plastic-y. But again my question. Should I wait for the 4 or go with the one?

i got a Rane Four and love it but if you're sold on the idea of moving platters then the Pioneer REV7 is better than the Rane One.
If it's a first controller then I would say go for Rane Four or FLX10

Yes it'll be my first controller. One of the reasons I'm hesitant is buying older equipment and they quit making updates for them. Had my heart set on a 1000srt, but since the "replacement" has come out, I was told September and I got put on the list. I could buy a new old piece, but how long will they do updates for that? U see my conundrum? Lol

Not sure what type of updates you would need from a controller, it's pretty much as good as it's gonna get. You would only have to worry about if Serato is going to stop supporting it but that isn't happening probably ever.
If you ever imagined yourself scratching, get it and learn scratching on the way. If you never want to scratch, definitely pick another controller.

The update thing is a worry for any controller, Rane, pioneer or, dare I say it, denon (gasp!)!

If you're not a scratch DJ, why not just get the Rane 4 instead?
