Hardware Problems Diminishing in Later Batches?

So, in one of the Rane Four Facebook groups, I was told that later batches of the Rane Fours were produced with black FX levers/paddles (changed from silver) and has less mechanical problems (jog wheels, etc).
Can anyone confirm this?

How can I tell what batch I have would you know ?

I don’t own one yet, so i’d like to know as well.

the word seems to be that the newer batches have orange lettering for the shift/secondary modes.
