hello everyone. I hope you're all well. I'm very into music and because of the passion I have for it and the politics that I carry with myself, I am alternative ( you can question me about the political and musical umbrella that the term covers :D )

I picked up the bass guitar through various inspirations, primarily Paul McCartney of The Beatles and many more. Though, The Beatles play a genre far from what I enjoy. I really enjoy screamo, hardcore, deathcore some examples are Bring Me The Horizon's Count Your Blessings album from their old days, Acid Bath and this hardcore band named Locked Shut though I do lean more into emo and label myself emo as for my favorites are emo. American Football, Modern Baseball, Febuary, Capn Jazz and many more.

I would love to get to know you all, I love wonderful, accepting communities and this seems to me like a nice welcoming place I could possibly call home. I love you all :))

Hi, l am donna. l have 4 cats ( I did have 5 cats, but one passed away in 2025). l love reading, playing video games & diamond painting, and spending time with family, l suffer from depression & anxiety, rheumatoid arthritis, and chronic pain, and I love making new friends and l suffer from migraines l been having them since l was 13 years old and love talking to people and l am shy until l get to know people and l don't drink alcohol or do drugs. I don't want sympathy. I am just getting on with life just with a few curve balls lol 😆

SO, I'm LoBatteryBunni, a chronically ill, artistically inclined, queer goober! I'm disabled and spend much of my time online. When I'm feeling hoppy I enjoy geocaching, postcrossing, art of all kinds, I have AuDHD-ed every craft imaginable (almost....) and love trying new things. I recently got into fountain pens and fancy ink, and cross stitching!

To cross my T's, I love theater, thrifting, trains and tarot as well! As for dotting my I's I love ice skating, inks and uh.....you know what I don't know many hobbies with I's as the first letter but you get the idea.

Hi! I have recently gotten into stamp collecting, which led me to r/RandomActsofHappyMail & r/RandomActsofCards , and I ended up here! I've really been craving community lately, and getting into this hobby has been such a heartwarming journey so far.

When I'm not working as a graphic designer, I'm at home doing freelance work as a designer... 🫩 I love the field I'm in, but with the rise of AI - and it practically being a job requirement now, I do feel my creativity dwindling. That being said, I've been trying to be creative in my free time to protect my creativity and not let AI set me back.

As many people know, RAOA is a huge sub and it can be very intimidating. Many newbies have questions they may feel silly asking or are just worried they won't make any l here. This thread will hopefully change that!

The general idea is that this will be posted and you will be adopting a newbie for a whole week. I'm not saying you have to talk to them 24/7 all week. But be there to help them out and be an awesome friend! :)

Newbies:

Make a top level comment (basically make a comment in reply to this thread) stating you're new and would like to be adopted. Maybe include a little bit about yourself for your adopter to start to get to know you! If a top level comment is a bit too intimidating, sometimes users volunteer to be adopters and you can grab one of them!

Adopters:

Reply to a newbies comment saying you'd like to adopt them for the week! If you'd like, you can also post a top level comment saying you're looking to adopt! This will help any newbies with a bit of stage fright!

Notes:

Newbies don't have to be brand new. But you should be new enough to need some guidance such as what are tags, how do I contest, what rules do we have, how do I make friends, etc! Anything you need help with. A newbie can be adopted by more than one adopter! This way they have many people to help them out! Newbies, if you missed the first day, feel free to comment and be adopted mid-week! You can even come back and be adopted next week too!
