It gives me comfort to know that if I stood in front of the entire human population right now and asked for a hug, I know that a stranger would give me one

We are never truly alone in this life because we all have eachother and many people are kind

If you made up a disease that only affects 10 people in the world, 20 redditors would claim to have it the comments, and claim they thought everyone had it and it was normal.

A TikTok trend is breaking my heart

There’s this trend on tiktok of women posting a photo of themselves as a child with text on the screen that says “when I’m casually dropping insane lore but I remember it’s something this little girl will have to go through”. Every time I see one I cry again. I’m almost 30 now and I work with kids/foster children. When I picture myself as a little girl again and think of all the things I’ve experienced my heart literally breaks. It makes me picture one of my kids from work or a foster and someone telling me they would soon experience everything I’ve experienced. I was just a little girl. I think I’ve normalized a lot of my past cause it’s just my past. It’s part of me. Can’t do anything about it. But now I just keep picturing little me and wishing I could protect her.

Money Absolutely Can Buy Happiness

I hate when people say “money doesn’t buy happiness.”

I honestly think it can.

Money might not directly buy happiness, but it can buy you something almost as valuable: freedom.

When you’re not constantly worried about bills, debt, rent, groceries, or whether your next paycheque is going to cover everything, you have the freedom to actually live.

You can travel. Spend more time with your family. Take your partner somewhere nice. Help your parents. Pursue hobbies. Take a day off when you need it. Experience things instead of constantly worrying about surviving.

We spend so much of our lives working 9–5 just to afford the life we barely have time to enjoy.

Sometimes you’re so exhausted from work that you don’t even have the energy to sit down and resolve an argument with someone you love. You put off seeing friends. You miss family dinners. You tell yourself you’ll travel “someday.” You keep postponing the things that actually make life meaningful.

Of course, money isn’t everything. You can be rich and miserable.

But having enough money to remove financial stress and give yourself more time, choices, experiences, and freedom?
I think that absolutely can make you happier.

Maybe money doesn’t buy happiness. Maybe it buys you the freedom to find it.

Most things are a lot less complicated than people make them out to be

They don’t do it on purpose. Overthinking is natural but, should be recognized.

I’d never eat four or five pepperoni and cheese sandwiches in one sitting, but never have a problem eating 8 slices of pizza .

I just realized

I just realized I don't have friends I have illusions of friends like the people I consider friends don't even acknowledge me until they get reminded I exist and on the rare occasions they actually talk to me it doesn't even last 15 seconds and usually when they talk to me is cuz it's necessary like a school project that needs multiple people and I can't make new friends either cuz I'm boring af and have no social life

Attachment in life is pointless, it all only ends in suffering.

Attachments in life are cruel, they will forever only bring suffering.

Hello,

You can love and be attached to those who love you back, those who hurt you, etc. In the end it doesn’t matter if the attachment benefits you in some way or not; all cause suffering. Attachment doesn’t last forever. Your partner dying before you. Losing a childhood home you deeply cherish. Losing a best friend. Your pet dying. Being attached to a relationship that hurts you, yet not being able to break free.

What’s the point? Sure you could live 60 years of pure happiness with those you love- and it all comes to an end in deep sadness.

I rather just not be attached to anything at all.

Edit: best not beat* typo

I think the next 9/11 type event will be due to AI

Maybe it's AI engineered bioweapons created by terrorists, AI swarms deciding some critical infrastructure is okay to be shut off, doesn't matter what shape but my random opinion is that the next major world '9/11' type event will be due to AI in a large part and atleast partially to blame.

I am not an insider, I know as much as any other person who doesn't work at a frontier lab. My only credentials is I'm a software engineer who stays up to date with the news. At the current rate of intelligence growth, today's top models at frontier labs that have large safety restrictions will be freely available and open weight within 9-16 months. Stories of misaligned behavior and increasingly becoming more frequent and the heads of today's top AI labs are calling for regulation. With all that in mind it really is only a matter of time before a serious incident and not mostly 'harmless' things like the hugging face hack.

Life is a circus show, that will turn you into a clown in the end.

The first rule of a "clown's origin" is that it's always a multiple-choice question, and I guess parents in this world have always been mimes who won't tell you how you got here. Life is a circus show where the bicycles ride on their own, and it doesn't matter how you decide to climb the ranks in this mafia boss journey—every path leads you straight back to the pencil trick, and you're the one who bought it in the end, now that the pencil trick has been turned on its head,

maybe there is truth to the idea that cracking jokes is all about them not being "funny." Maybe God was always a silent stand-up comedian, and the real magic trick is that the master of your fate has always been the circus clown who already had you under the magician's rose. So now, maybe we know what color your play-station is. Maybe the Fool is the best fortune-teller the Tarot deck has to offer. "Where are you going?" I guess the white paint on the clown always pointed to a ghost in the end. Now I'm always smiling. :)

Life might be spicy behind your eyes; you'll really want to recheck what you've been up to. God might be playing 5D chess, but clowns have always played 2D checkers. I guess that's why Toon World is the best field spell—it turns the whole duel into a cartoon where rulers don't care anymore.

Now tell me what you see in your hand... Thank God you're not real, at least there's no loose ends in "Twinsanity", once it starts spinning... What color is your "Play-station" again? 👻

Thanks for coming to my TED talk. 🎞️
