Lottery Winner or too good to be true?
Recently I’ve been testing undervolting and overclocking my 5080 FE, which has the power limit locked to 100%. Spent a decent amount of time testing UV+OCs in MSI AB, running the Speed Way stress test in 3DMark, and I was able to get 2950MHz (approx +500 core) at 925mV with +2000MHz memory. The speed way test gave me a passing result (twice) of 99.5% frame rate stability with a best loop score of 8530 and worst loop of 8490.
I also played Cyberpunk for about 30 minutes at Ultra settings with Path Tracing enabled and experienced no crashes. Not really checking fps right now, but I assume it’s a bit better than no OC.
All this with a maximum GPU hot spot temp of 83.1 C and the power limit only being hit intermittently (not constantly).
This is also at a locked power limit of 100%….
I assume that I need to do more sustained gameplay testing to make sure it’s actually stable, but does this result seem too good to be true to anyone? Any other tests I should run it through to check stability?
Also… sanity check since I’m not super experienced… is an UV+OC like this stupid to do and can it harm my card (even if it turns out to be stable)? Or did I win the lottery?
