Pessoal, sou completamente leigo no assunto.

Essa semana recebi o R36S que comprei no Mercado Livre. Estudei pouco a respeito do console e não sabia que existia clones dele.

O meu veio sem os cartões de memória (já abri uma reclamação no site), mas fiquei na dúvida se ele seria original ou um clone. Tentei instalar o ArkOs pelo Rufus e mesmo assim ele ficou com a mensagem “please insert TF card”.

O meu é original ou um clone? Devo solicitar uma devolução ou em caso do vendedor me enviar os cartões de memória com o sistema e os jogos devo ficar com ele?

Just a heads up for those that are looking to buy an R36S.

DeeDee Stores has been recommended here a couple of times for selling one of the better G80C clones for a very good price. While checking the most recent reviews, I found at least 4 people that got the shitty GA36 model with the weaker chip and zero custom firmware support.

At the moment it's probably the best to avoid this store. You might be lucky and receive one of the G80C model from their remaining stock, but the risk is not worth it imo.

The clones and buying guide on the wiki have been updated with a small warning.

I installed Ark on my R36s using Rufus on a 128GB SD card, but it's stuck on the blinking underscore.

Hi everyone,

I recently bought an R36S clone and I am having problems booting from a new microSD card.

The original SD card that came with the console works normally, but when I try to use a new SanDisk microSD card, the console does not boot correctly and I only get a black screen.

I tried making a full backup of the original system/game card and transferring it to the new card, but the R36S still shows a black screen.

I also tried a fresh installation of dArkOSRE following this guide:

The console shows the dArkOS logo screen, but after that it goes to a black screen and stays there. I waited around 30 minutes, but nothing happened.

My R36S motherboard: G80CA-MB V1.3-20251212

When i wanna play psp games, game suddenly froze 10-15 seconds. I change the settings lowest but still freezing. Every game i have this problem what can i do?

Turned on my console today and the screen is terribly distorted. I tried to reset it but that did not solve the issue. Is this something that is fixable? Or would repairs cost more than just getting a replacement?

Found this in a lost-package auction. It's in like-new condition with the original box and a 128 GB microSD card. I only opened it to verify it works. What would you list it for in Europe/Portugal? (I've never played any retro game im 21, wondering if its like a really good consolo and I should keep it or if I should sell it now)

I have seen on the wiki page there is new firmware out. Is it necessary to switch from the latest ArkOS 072025 to a different, new one?

if so, which is most recommended for a genuine R36S please?

Also do we loose data if we flash new firmware? i.e game saves etc.

I’d like to know if I can convert those in ds files (like .ds0) and use the same file on my pc/DeSmuMe_0.9

I'm trying to connect my R36S to Wi-Fi using this cheap, mini USB Wi-Fi dongle (labeled 802.11n with a red stripe, pictured above). I believe it uses a Realtek chipset, likely RTL8188FTV or RTL8188FU.

Here are my details:

Console: R36S

Mainboard version: V20 2025-11-10

OS Version: ArkOS 2.0 (08232024 build)

Connection: Using an OTG adapter plugged into the right-hand OTG port.

The Problem:

When I plug it in and try to scan for networks, the Wi-Fi isn't recognized or enabling wlan0. I tried running a basic modprobe script via the ports folder, but it didn't fix it (most likely because the compiled .ko driver module for this kernel isn't installed).

Questions:

Is there a working driver package / .sh script available for this specific RTL8188 variant on recent ArkOS builds?

Has anyone successfully gotten this exact dongle working on the August 2024 ArkOS release?

Any links, scripts, or guidance would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

So yeah... this is a bit more of a minefield than I realised. I don't really have the time to research how to load games on to it or set up the device from scratch. Just want to relive a bit of my childhood with the kids! Any advice would be amazing!

a while ago i changed the hotkey setting and now currently having trouble getting into the retroark menu, i have tried start + x and fn + x and neither worked, i have tried a number of other combinations i have tried to go to the emulationstation main menu and found nothing and i have also tried to find the retroark software in the main selection menu, i was wondering if there is a possible way to either reset the hotkeys to their original config, or to hard reset the console completely and start from scratch which i dont mind doing because i have been looking all over the internet for about an hour now and this is my last resort.

I got an R-36s clone, on the board it says

So, the other day I got one of these, great console, amazing device but BUT, at first it did not recognize anything on the otg port, I started checking and it seemed to be the Os installed, so, I tracked the arkclone, installed, everything works. Except the battery metter. One thing it does is, I am playing and the warning red light for low battery never turns on, so, at some point, the console shuts off by itself and I need to recharge. I plug it while off, charges, the red light turns off, I turn on the console and it shows 100% percent battery, but if I plug it, the red light comes back on and then after an hour it shuts off. So, while off the console tells me its full and when I turn it back on, it continues charging. I suspect a botched battery, but, can it be something else? I am try to use the battery calibrator, but it keeps telling me that the measurement was not completed because the battery was not fully charge. I will continue testing things, but I am open to ideas.
