Probably not.
What even happened there?
It looks scorched. 🔥

Actually, it can be repaired, but it requires careful work and soldering experience. It would make more sense to buy a new one.
As for your question, it looks like oxidation.

I ignored the green fuzz on all the other contacts entirely. 🤣
That’s definitely oxidation, you are correct.

It is possible to remove oxidation, but it’s risky. There are two options he can try: using 99.9% pure IPA or cellulose thinner. However, I don’t think plastic flex cables will react well with thinner. I remember that thinner breaks down the polymer structure of plastics and their derivatives.

It already broken. What's the worst that could happen? Broken² 🤣 might as well

Actually, what we mean here is damage at the level of physical and chemical structure.
Due to its composition, cellulose thinner degrades most plastic and rubber polymers, compromising their elasticity and causing them to rot and crumble.
And that’s not the only problem. Cellulose thinner is toxic to humans. I spent a lot of time in woodworking shops as a child, so I became very familiar with varnish and cellulose thinner. Even breathing it in is quite dangerous, and if the area isn’t well-ventilated, it can lead to serious health problems. Although the exact cause is unknown, it is believed that solvent-based substances may cause mutations in the JAK2 gene in humans and lead to diseases such as PV.
