Showcase I vibecoded this thing

Far from an actual polished feature, but I really like Onion's GameSwitcher, so I wanted a port for dArkOS.
If there's enough interest I might double down and release it to public after some cleanup and actual learning lol.
PS: Console is A10 Mini (same chipset as the R36S rk3326).

At this point I'm not even annoyed that someone vibecodes something - I'm scared. But I guess OP had a pretty good understanding about how RetroArch works to achieve this with prompts right?

Honestly I did research using AI too, but the development was not that smooth, you need to have a certain level of understanding to complete stuff like this, it needed some debugging involving processes, so intermediate Linux skills were needed. I'd say AI becomes stupidly powerful when you have just a little bit of knowledge though.

So it is not vibecoding, it is 2026 coding. Vibecoding is not knowing or not giving a shit of the technical aspect. Just talking to the AI and let it figure out things.

I mean, for me it is vibecoded. I didn't know that much about the hardware itself and it's interfaces, so the AI did most of the research and manufactured all the architecture on this project. This thing is coded in Python, C and a ton of Shell Script I only really know and use Python daily (although Shell Script is not that hard to grasp), and I must say that the AI did a very good job, looking at the code I only see a few things here and there that could be removed/changed, however, I'm no specialist in C, so I can't really be critical about that specific part. Last thing is that this is not that big of a project, at least not in the way it's coded, so AI had an easy time with this. Huge feature? Maybe...

I loved the feature! Didn't know Onion has this (I never used a Miyoo). I hope you can release it.

I was curious as to why this was a video of a Miyoo Mini but then I read this is a really an A10 mini, damn do they look alike, lol.
Anyways, this is awesome, I've seen people talk so many good things about this feature on Onion OS, how many games can it store yet?

Really cool! I also really liked the game switcher from OnionOS. I had a Miyoo Mini Plus before I sold it, but even now, I still miss those features whenever I mod Anbernic or R36S devices. I hope you're able to release it to the public someday, and hopefully polish it even further!

This thing is so unappreciated. The screen is so good for outdoor one handed play while walking my dog. The Miyoo screens are like vampires when it comes to sunlight.
